This reminds me of when you start making up random game genie codes on Super Mario 1. Sometimes you'll end up in some bizarre world that either doesn't end or traps you.
Something I'd love to see: A speed run where the player 1) never dies (e.g. to avoid having to run through content) and 2) collects everything. All the gold, guns, etc. Same deal with A Boy And His Blob. You can beat that game in like two minutes with glitches, but I never see anyone collect those peppermints. You want a challenge? There it is. ;p
It's one of my favorites, too, but there are reasons why it leaves a bad impression. It runs at 30fps. The controls are quirky and unforgiving. It is extremely challenging, in large part because of the controls. It lacks the solidity you get from games like SMB. Spiders crawl backwards. Waterfalls teleport around. Things like that.

I don't know why so many people think this game sucks. Its one of my favorite NES games.

Thanks, Sarysa! I missed hearing that wonderful music for this great game!
Of all games to do speed runs on, why did you choose this, Xavier.

Because it required route planning, like Metroid.

That is awesome! I didn't even know there was a Pitfall for the NES, this looks nothing like the Atari versions.
