My background is in animated feature films, these are pretty simple stories but i can tell you we covered the walls of a room just to keep track of all the characters their interrelationships maps of the places the story is taking place in...just to keep it straight in our own heads. joseph smith never said any thing about mars but it was recorded 37 years after it was apparently said that he said men lived on the moon, its true many mormons believed this independently, but this was not an uncommon belief among people of that era. A prophet isn't always a prophet,its his opinion and nothing in D&C, BOM or the POGP has been disproved

I believe JS was a good man of high moral character, was he perfect? no of course he wasn't, no man (exept jesus) that has ever lived was and that includes prophets. the 3 main witnesses never denied their testimonys, they all left the church at some point (Harris and Cowdery eventually returned) but despite excommunication and ill-feelings, they continued to affirm their testimonys of the truthfulness of the BOM, If the Book of Mormon was true, then why did they leave the Church? Didn't Judas, an Apostle chosen by Christ betray Jesus? Didn't Peter deny Christ three times?.Lol, i don't think its entirely fair to compare us to suicide cults!
