im currently installin a 5.3 in my 86 monte carlo ss now i was alittle on the skeptic side about it making power but after a few videos like this one i cant wait to get it out on the road...nice
Yeah I Bet It Was I Did Something Similar but Mine Stayed In A Lil Silverado SS It Was An Ls2 With A Carburetor What Kind Of Fuel Pump Did U Use i had hell Finding one that would work
I ended up with a Mallory 110. I had a Holley on it but the whine from it was awful. You could hear it over the engine. I've had no trouble with the Mallory so far. Much nicer mount than the Holley and Quiet!!!!
I'm not sure but I'm running disk all around and I have no issues with the power brakes at all. I've had it on the road since August and it stops nicely.
What's the lift and duration on the cam?

Did you have the engine dynoed, just curious how much power the hot cam made in a 5.3?

So awesome. Great build. I have respect for anyone that actually builds a car instead of just buying.

Curious as to why you went with a carb instead of fuel injection.

Just because you can put a computer on it don't mean you should! Old Skool Rocks!!!

It's only about a grand for the carb, manifold and ignition box from Edelbrock.

Ew... a carb.
Nice truck though and a very clean swap.
