This is an example of why there is so much bad design - "feels good" "I like it" "not nice" etc. Nowhere did he give us a good reason for the circle, the color (blue is cold, not warm & friendly), the selection of font, etc. Great design needs solid rationale in addition to a sense of aesthetics to succeed. Many designers are still creating 'art' that they like, rather than 'design' that functions to enhance communication.

Great design is a mesh of both art and design. Blue does look good, and it communicates trust, serenity, & stability. Also: fresh, clean, refreshing. It's not a bad logo at all. Another note: these guys are the designer's clients, not the designer himself. It's ok. Most (virtually all) clients are going do decide based on their general undefined feelings. It's up to the designer to give solidly designed choices from which to choose.

I would use a flash and have the loggo change to all the different colors on the web site. That would show that all colors and people are welcome.
