@SuomiSoturi345 It's mainly a product of "It was first, so it was best" type of hype when it was released, on the same level as people keep calling Final Fantasy 7 the "best RPG ever". The menu system is still somewhat broken and underutilized. The guns either have no stopping power or have the inaccuracy and recoil levels set too high. Graphics are meh, even for the time. And there's only 1 game mode with slight variants between hard coded maps. It's still a pretty bad game either way.

To brush you up on some basic CS history, CS was not originally created by valve. It had an enourmous online community when this guy (Minh Le) and some other guy created the first versions of the game. Valve decided to hire them and help them work on CS in minor areas where it needed work, then they released it on the market as CS 1.6. So it can quite easily be said that this guy is pretty much the godfather of CS. If Minh wishes to make a new CS, I'm pretty sure it counts as CS.

@MultiNeon666 meh, the beta was ok, but the game play seemed bland and the fact that it shows you where hostages ruins a lot of the fun. Also the current gun models are odd, the shells eject to the left on all the guns.

Alright, I'm tired of people complaining that this looks like Counter-Strike. This game virtually IS Counter-Strike with more features. Minh Le (The creator of CS) wanted to add several more features to CS:S, but players would not allow this, complaining about too much gameplay change.
