Sorry I didn't warn about spoilers, but it HAS been several years since it came out. It's not like I played a game released yesterday before anyone else and leaked the ending :P Apologies anyhow. I'm going to have to grab this game again off ebay someday...regret ever parting with it. And yeah Seravi, I'm one of the few who believes Yuri's still alive as he didn't truly 'die'. Catch the bad ending to see what I mean (no spoilers this time haha :D) Waiting for his epic comeback!

One of the most underrated series ever made. Yuri was a badass that didn't deserve to be killed off the way he was. Perhaps they're saving him for a return in Shadow Hearts 4, but I won't hold my breath. RIP, Yuri Volte Hyuga.

@seravi I caught both endings for the first two :) Didn't even bother finishing SH3 though...just wasn't the same without my favorite character. Felt like a sidequest rather than a true story.

I will agree and say the third Shadow Hearts was disappointing, especially the change in Roger and Lenny's voices, but I did love Frank. <3 Honestly, the series should have ended with Yuri's death in my opinion even though I was very excited at hearing of news of the third game.

Too bad for Shadow Hearts 3, I get a feeling Yuri is a major player in what made Shadow Hearts. Say what you will about the dark atmosphere and everything else. Yuri is a badass MC. Both this one and the Tales of Vesperia Yuri. Honestly? I think they're related, cousins or something. XD

no i dont think that is possible due to the fact of which ending you get such as the good ending or the bad ending... one he dies and the other he looses his memories i didnt like how they ended Yuri's story but the plot twist was that Karin traveled back in time... weird....

Actually the way it works is that the second game is based off of the bad ending of SH 1. By completing SH 2 and getting the good ending, it sends Yuri back to SH 1 where he can then get the good ending and thus never get involved in the dealings of SH 2 since his girl friend never dies.

Shadow Hearts 3 is really only loosely based on the first two, with a vague tie in involving the release of malice from the European tower and the appearance of Lenny as the protagonists Butler.

Yea this was a good game. I love this theme too. But the ending i got kinda made me mad. I mean Yuri forgot who he was or where he came from while Karin goes back in time i guess? And meets Yuri's mom and dad. Oh and Roger claims Yuri as his son after that. WTF? Did they make a third one that i didn't hear about or sumthin?

Oh yeah, for those that doesn't know, there is no direct sequels (Shadow Hearts: From the New World), it just use same game system, and stuff like that but no relationships. There is a prequel for Shadow Hearts (Koudelka) but it isn't that relating either

Well if you want to get technical Koudelka is kinda a prequel to Shadow Hearts since it shows to events of what happens in the Monestary in the perspective of Hailey's mother.

But I would go with you saying that FTNW isn't exactly a sequel however the Valentines and Lenny link it to the other games.

After completing Shadow Hearts 1 (& got the good ending) I considered not buying this game. But this song actually made me intrigued. Because for some reason I envisioned the visual style of Covenant to be exactly the same as Shadow Hearts 1, and how this song would have fit perfectly with Shadow Hearts 1. It was different to what I expected, but still, an excellent and heavily underrated game :)
