Just so your aware, these are more than just shows for the elephants. The shows provide enrichment and stimulation. Not to mention that on closed days and early mornings the elephants are taken for walks around the park. The trainers are positive and encouraging. And as for prizes, she is obviously being rewarded. And regardless of how you feel about the company, the trainers there love their animals.
I hate seeing elephants forced to perform like this, especially Tava and the other old, arthitic-stricken elephants at this park.
Do you homework, khog, and you'll see that 6 Flags has been holding these elephants and many other animals captive for decades in crappy, barren, completely inappropriate pens just for the money they get from clueless visitors who don't realize the cruelty behind the scenes.
Please don't support 6 Flags by paying to see their abusive shows like this.
Well everyother sentence the trainers say to the audience is about stop buying poached animal products, I don't exactly see any TV or radio commercials on cable saying that since Captain Planet cartoons were cancelled. I wouldn't bash the nice things they say about elephants if you really care about them. And to be honest, if Americans don't see elephants then they won't care as much about keeping them alive & well on the planet.
Yeah, they preach conservation of nature, while showing you wild animals in captivity that shouldn't be there at all, performing silly tricks instead of being themselves.. This is the doubletalk that you always hear at zoos, circuses and most places that exploit animals. If they REALLY cared, they'd create nice habitats and not force them to perform.
And most Americans don't see whales, but still care about them. Your argument doesn't hold water.
