I'm in my thirties now and ever since I stumbled upon this interview, I go back to it from time to time, whenever I feel like harkening back to that time in my past. You did a great job. You present Kurt as a 'real' person rather than a pedestal rock god. But like many of us, I can't watch it without experiencing a weird mix of nostalgia and mourning. It's kind of surreal. @blubuddha how does a college radio station = corporate cock? That stuff is independently run and survives because people like nardwuar have a passion for playing music on the air, doing interviews, etc. not big corporations. I've got a bunch of respect for Kurt but its hard to say that he didn't want to give into the "corporate college radio station" while he had his albums released through the major label Geffen Records.

@VAThrasher : I hear ya bro, I just think the whole station ID thing is a little distasteful, & Kurt was obviously feeling the same way. You know as well as I do, Independent or not, they're going to use the sound byte for commercial purposes and thats my only point. Is that necessary? Do you HAVE to ask artists to do that? By the third NO you think he would've got the point but his insistence was what I was griping about. But Nardwuar is no different than the others - in that aspect.

* Really annoyed with Nardwuar and enjoying jokes at his expense with the others.
* Feels compelled to be polite and nice to the interviewer and not be a dickhead.
* Gets tired of step two and angry again. He and Courtney starts to fuck with Nardwuar and feeding him lies.

@crieff405 Its true that he shot dope all night with AIC in South America. I have read a couple of biographies and all of them talk about it. Kurt was nearly arrested backstage for heroin but the promoters got him out of it. There were some others that did get arrested though, including a South American dealer.

I love Kurt but. Wow Kurt was being an ass most of the interview. When you watch all the interviews and see the different reactions some of the interviewed people look like douche bags. Not Kurt, other people. Another thing about Kurt I notice and its in the video he seemed to like putting down the bands who invented the music he played. Its really odd. I cant understand it.

@A2Z83 He wasn't exactly Mr. Sunshine. I really enjoyed this interview, but but Nardwuar's best interviews are where the interviewee actually seems to like talking about the subject of, you know, music. Nardwuar invest a lot of time prepping these interviews in part so he can talk about what the interviewee finds interesting. That's called meeting more than half way. The funny thing is we get a better reaction out of Courtney! I don't get why Kurt puts down the bands he owed the most to either.
