First off, great playing. I've watched all of your M13 videos because I am looking to get one. I was wondering though. Who influenced your guitar playing to get you to play like this? This was awesome and I want to find more. Thanks.
it's an embarrassing list sometimes, but check out Lincoln Brewster's "All To You: Live", anything from Andy Timmons, John Mayer's "Continuum", Lynch Mob's "Wicked Sensation", anything from Brad Paisley, and Europe's "Out of This World". Lincoln Brewster is a christian/gospel player but an amazing guitarist and Europe featured a guy named Kee Marcello on this cd from 1986. I basically steal everything I play from this list. :)
I think this one might do the vox squish better, but I really like having an effects loop in the Tweaker. That's a tough call! Both are great, but I prefer the Tweaker.
I don't think it's quite as convincing as the Night Train. But I believe that the Tweaker has so much more to offer in general- and for roughly the same price. The Tweaker's VX setting is chimy, but not like the Vox's.
wow i've seen alot of your demos and this one is my fav. amazing tone. i've been trying really hard to get john mayer tone at low volume and you might have just solved my problem. thanks man
Hi ... thanks for the demo. I'm interested in the NT (stock version.) Have you had any reliability issues with it? Any sound anomolies like "fizz" anywhere in the gain spectrum? etc. Also, i've heard some good things about the EQ'ing in the Bright mode (versatility). ANy feedback is appreciated. e-mail me is good too if you've got the time. Thanks again, Andrew B.
No reliability problems in mine. I think it's important to use it with a good speaker cab, though. I really prefer a closed back, but I've heard good stuff about the little Night Train 1x12 cab with a Celestion Greenback in there.
I've got two combo's presently - one's a 2x12" openback with Eminence Red Fang's; the other is an openback 1x12" with a Celestion Vintage 30. So, i should be covered well. Rgds.
I almost always use Analog w/ Mod or Digital delay. This is Analog w/ Mod. On the Boost Comp, I keep the drive at about 10-15%, the comp up at about 60% and the output almost on full. I leave the treble and bass in their stock settings.
He's one of my all-time favorites, so some of his stuff spills out of me every now and then. But I could practice another 50 years and not be as fluid or creative as he is.
Thanks for the compliments! That cabinet is made by Custom Audio Amplifiers which you can buy through Suhr Guitars and the speaker in there is a Celestion G12H30, 16ohm.
very very nice stuff! 1 question, is this head loud enough to play with live using a 2x12 cab without having to get to much gain? thanks and once again very nice playing...
I could listen to these like improvisations all day now, it was just so beautiful I could cry...wish I could cry, havent cried for over 8-9 years, and I cant...nevermind, your playin is ...brings peace to my soul
very nice , next time lil more volume on the recording tho..

Chops!
In comparison to the Egnater Tweaker, which of these amps do you feel does the Vox squish better?

@dognmoon I guess my next question would be does the tweaker pull off the vox chime?

I'm using the one on the right and it's a Celestion G12H30. There's a good sparkle to that speaker.

Yeah, I always use a combination of my pick and my middle and ring fingers. I think it slows me down a little bit but I can't break the habit.

I see youre boost comp is on the right, so I guess you have changed the chain to 4-3-2-1?
coffebajs 2 years ago
Yup. It makes more sense to look at it like I would look at a conventional pedalboard.

I'm looking at buying this with the matching 1x12 cab. Does it have enough headroom to go with drums, bass, and another guitar and still be clean?
spock537 2 years ago
I think so. I played it in Hollywood a couple of months ago and it was plenty loud for a loud drummer.

massive boogie style hendrix drops man! good stuff! totally dig it.

Beautiful playing and a great demo. I'm trying to decide which little tube amp to get and this video has made my mind up for me. Thankyou!

easily, yes. I played in Hollywood in May with this head and it was crazy loud and still relatively clean.
