Damn right. He fought for the right cause and one that we, the Marines, still fight for these days. No matter what the war, we remember Basilone and the Marines who served with him in WW2. Let us not forget the wars fought. Iraq is a different story, but one war that demonstrates the same courage. Whether it's in the face of insurgents hiding in buildings or straight in the face of terror, the Marines today are no different from our brothers before. They wouldn't have it any different. CF
A great man and a great soldiers. Balls of Iron and and an individual who knew about principal and honor. He could have rested the rest of his days behind a desk till the war end. In the end he died fighting what he believed in and is a testimony to his heritage and to America. Not many of thos ilk today thats for sure God bless and rIp in John BASILONE
@terp00 Except that there are men like him now in America, if you really think our troops are not doing a good job message me and I'll point you to a speech by combat veteran and Navy SEAL, Marcus Luttrell.
RIP in Piece of Basilone. You are the embodiment of courage, self sacrifice and legendary courage of old. I admire you as one of my heroes along with Marciano. God Bless!!
Where would Mike Strank rank in the marines as a hero and legend??

@S1DS1DS1D Your meager attempt to be funny fell flat on its face. Don't bring up video games on an American hero's tribute.
