The demonstrators were not "blocking the road" or attempting to "stop" the deployment. They were standing in a public place, off the road, simply excercising their right to protest the war. That's not illegal. What is illegal, however, is for police to not be wearing their badges in a visible place and to not give their badge numbers when asked. The protesters seem better trained at peace-keeping here than the public servants being paid to "defend" them.

All charges against the three arrested protesters were dismissed in court the following morning; it is the policemen who are now being investigated for using unnecessary force. I do support and appreciate our law enforcement men and women; we have a duty as citizens to never allow anyone to abuse that position. It's you who speaks disrespectfully of police by suggesting they would treat a victim differently based on that victim's understanding of the law.
