  • As to High School drop outs, by the time a kid is 16 they are often beyond a parent's ability to control and often leave the home or are tossed out due to constant conflict. Many parents indeed drop the ball on this but not all. I wasn't a drop out, I was expelled from the 10th grade and then studied and recieved not only a GED but went on to achieve three associate degrees. There are programs for kids who don't do well in High Schoo; that allow them to get a diploma and a 2 year degree.

  • Wrong again bob longest Norwegian sentence is the rest of your life

  • It's actually when the Dogs is held down and shocked a few times first,

i.e. they learn that the shocks are unavaoidable

  • bill gates already knows what motivates teachers. Microsoft used to bribe college professors to use MS products in the classroom and show students how to use it.

philanthropists in the past used to raise the rages of their workers, like Ford, or build libraries like Carnegie.

  • On fixing education: It's about motivation. Whether that comes from expectations or incentives or a natural drive to work hard or whatever, that's what it all comes down to. That's how teachers are effective; if they can get uninspired students to WANT to succeed, then they can find a way to do so.

  • I like the male presenter, all the other male presenters just dont have the charm or the charisma.

  • Amy Winehouse was a musical genius? hmmmm....that's a little much

  • @jmillzz2

When they die they all become geniuses.

  • cenk, i know this is a very common mistake, but get it right. indians are NOT asian. india is on its own plate, not the asian one. can we just end the ignorance? it doesn't take long to look up plate boundaries and notice that india is seperate from asia.

  • ana is so hotttt

  • Since the republican leadership is super right wing they will pick super right wingers. since the democrat leadership is super right wing they will pick super right wingers.

  • 46:05

    Circumcision!

More people should post outraged comments, I enjoy those debates alot.

  • Obama is outrageously weak. Republicans, banks, big oil...he is pathetic. Hes tough however when critising more left wing progressives. Isnt he supposed to be a democratic president? Ridiculous! And how some of you (non-wealthy at least) Americans can vote for those Republicans is beyond belief. If you cant see they are a political extensive of the bigger corporations then you must be rather silly.

  • Really Cenk? The guys who run around and PLAY football 4-5 months a year deserve a ton of money? More than the police? More than the fireman who risk their life to rescue people? The soldiers that fight for their country? The nurses and doctors that work to help the ill? The scientists doing constant mind numbing research? More than the teachers in our schools? And all these folks work YEAR ROUND for TOO LITTLE money and NOT ENOUGH vacation. Yeah Cenk, they deserve a ton of money.

  • @DirtbagEconomics who else is gonna get it you stupid dweeb? police dont have anything to fucking do with the nfl.

  • @DirtbagEconomics

But he is clearly speaking in a sporting context. If there is a massive amount of money in the game, then the player's cut is going to be huge. Hence though policemen and fireman should earn more, that is irrelevant within the sporting context given here.

  • I would hate to run into Pawlenty in an alley--he's so frikin' tough!

  • "Insert power here <--"

Republicans have that tattooed on their wallet.

Democrats have that tattooed on their ass.

  • Obama is a fucken chicken, thats why he gets called that.

  • It's not entirely true that you can't spend more than 21 years behind bars in Norway. If you continue to pose a threat to society they can keep you in custody longer. I suspect that's what they'll do with this terrorist, not just because we want them to, but because the minute he gets out, somebody is going to kill him.

  • To bad soccer doesn't really work in the states, I think it's because of all the commercials they want to put on air during the games, the International Soccer federation refused Americans to have 6 commercials breaks during the game, it's rediculous and it's to bad beacuse each year the US get better and better in final cups.

  • Megan is beautiful The dude is creepy. I think she will regret sleeping with him, one thousand-fold.

  • 24:30 Look at Ana's face. I felt the same way as her.

  • Bobby dropped out and got a job as a delivery boy at 18 and worked the same job for 37 yrs and has a nice retirement. Jesse got the same job as Bobby but quit after a month because it interferred with his social life. Then he spent the next five yrs in and out of jobs and returned to college and finally graduated. Then spent the rest of his life -- well -- basically in and out of jobs. And he has no retirement. So all this about making this much if that and make that if this is crap.

  • @kt10585

wtf are you talking about? "So all this about making this much if that and make that if this is crap."

What does that mean in English?

  • @zenguin13 it means - its not true that a high school drop out wont make over $40k/yr and college grad will make over $40k. For college grad - it depends on what the dgree is in.

  • @kt10585 Ok ..I agree..My brother-in-law didn't go to college for even one day. He graduated high school though. Flipped hamburgers and eventually made millions on the sonic drive-in franchise. But he's not the normal person who has no drive. Usually, if you go to school, you'll have some sort of knowledge to depend upon. You can base that education upon a career of some sort. For most people, education is the way to go. especially these days.

  • @zenguin13 I dont know about 'education is the way to go these days.' Personally, Ive come to see education as 1: a means for parents, if they got the money, to get their young adult kids out of the house from laying around with nothing to do all day. and 2: a means for the feeling of doing something progressive. But in reality, just spinning their wheels. Young adults are competing on a global scale for fewer jobs and the education system is taking advantage of students, and its a debt trap.

  • @kt10585 You might be right. They need welders and concrete truck drivers too.

  • Has anyone tried watching this with the youtube sudtitles? What the fuck?

  • I agree 100 percent with Cenk on the drop out topic.

  • IN THE J-WALKING CASE: Chances are the prosecutor is an evangelical Christian. In the minds of evangelicals there are no victims. Everyone is a sinner and deserves eternal punishment. To evangelicals there is no such thing as the crime of rape nor are there rape victims, only sinners who tempted others to sin. And most damning, with evangelicals there is NO MERCY, except for their own sins which God automatically pre-forgives.

  • Apparently NASCAR is more important than the poor and vulnerable.

  • Whoops, sorry, Cenk beat me to it lmao. Next time I'll watch it all.

  • Pawlenty is trying to act tough after being a little fucking bitch during the debate? Shut up you pussy.

  • Come on baby, eat the rich,

Put the bite on the son of a bitch,

Don't mess around, don't give me no switch,

    C'mon baby eat the rich

    C'mon baby eat the rich

  • yea, as Curt says, those stats are incredibly misleading; they'd have to be paired with some kind of measure of family education/wealth/income to have any kind of meaning. EG: if the US accepts only college grads from India, it's a much harder sell that Indian culture is the reason for their success

  • 24:40 I think Cenk was slightly too general with the dog experiment. If the shocks come in quick random successions, then the dog will take it. If the shocks are on random (yet not close to each other), the dog will still react.

  • can we come up up with a fast acting AIDS that only works on republicans?

  • in Canada, Indians are KILLING us in terms of better jobs, education etc. I think a reason for this is because Canada offers work visas for only high paying jobs like engineering or medical.

  • Silly Ana. Your breasts are on Youtube almost daily, that's how TYT gets half their subscribers.

  • Pawlenty.....Why didn't you ask to remove BUSH when he was killing innocent Iraqi men, women and children....Pawlenty is as WORTHLESS as a piece of pig feces, oh wait pig feces is proof that a pig was fed, i.e. it HAD worth, Pawlenty-ICONIC FAIL!

  • GOP Mantra = TAX THE MIDDLE CLASS, KILL THE POOR

  • what the fuck is happening to america?

  • WHAT!! You have a boyfriend? :-(

  • Harvard has open minded, smart, logical, rational, critical thinking students. You think they're gonna believe some book written thousands of years ago by someone, JUST BECAUSE someone says they must believe it? bha!

  • Only 28% a bachelor degree in the USA?! What the HECK. I was expecting like 50%+

  • Waiting for the day that Ana does 100% loose hair instead of the tightening on top.

Loose hair = most feminine! Even more hot

  • Cenk haircut!

  • Ana.

So that you can sleep tonight,

the mother was sentenced to one year probation, and,

at the request of the judge that sentenced her,

she has accepted a re-trial, in an effort to have that sentence removed.

  • Anytime a black person speaks up or asks for anything in the eyes of some, they are being arrogant. You have to realize that this stems from the thought that Blacks are inferior and anytime a Black isn't groveling and begging for what they want and need, they are being aggressive. Typical racist bullshit that needs to die out. It's either that or they are just money hungry paid servants of the corporations that want to discredit the President. Either one is fine and will work for my argument.

  • The school thingy with the texas (schoolbookdepository) school board where ppl sit that know intellect from heresay and make up for a statewide trend, yeah there is something foul, I guess.

  • I see it a whole different way. The neocons aka teabagging bat shit crazy people do not care an iota about anything but keeping the taxes on the rich extended and just want are obsessed to the point of ocd to fight with the president just to fight. They never have any answer and the media is constantly wanting straight answers and give an answer that makes no sense of an answer. Its just in your face. That's all there is to it

  • Winehouse a musical genius. Come on, man, come on. Sure, she was of greater talent than the junk that usually gets airplay, but making not-Rebeca Black the condition for genius is insane. Wagner, Bach, or even someone like Robert Fripp or Emil Amos -those are geniuses. Being in awe, as a layman, of someone who does a passable job in a field in which great things are possible, does not make that person a genius.

  • @sevnstrings Robert Fripp? Everyone likes to call the musicians they like "musical geniuses". There are no qualifications. It's ridiculous to even argue about this.

  • @ExSaint1379 Actually, no, it isn't. There are plenty of artists whom I admire, without immediately declaring them geniuses. E.g., I don't mind Amy Winehouse; I just don't see her as deserving of that label, which ought to be reserved for truly outstanding talents. Fripp, say, was a progenitor of a new style of music which inspired countless bands to begin incorporating exotic tonalities and rhythmic diversity.

  • @sevnstrings None of that stuff is even remotely new or exotic. Early twentieth century music expanded tonality so much at such a fast rate that calling tonalities or rhythms "exotic" after that is just kind of ridiculous. Maybe they are exotic for rock music. Rock music is catchy and people like the lyrics, so in Rock music coming up with new lyrics or new ways of being catchy is exactly as genius as Robert Fripp.

  • @ExSaint1379 The incorporation into rock music is exactly the point I was making, I never claimed that Fripp invented the scales &c., so we are in agreement there. I disagree with you that being catchy and writing lyrics that appeal to a common audience is as fine an achievement as the above. What you have, however, convinced me of, is that to argue this is in fact ridiculous, if I might borrow what seems to be your favourite adjective. Let us both do something else with our lives. Peace.

  • "Stupid Progressives... why do they think our GOP-defunding-federal-programs and policies to balance the budget (fuck it up) which destroys jobs be a bad thing?!..."

    o.O

  • Cenk always says the dumbest shit

  • @theUSER101 the irony is hilarious

  • @theUSER101 I second that, your irony is quite funny. The truest of the true is stupid? Look, a stupid person calling someone else stupid is breathtaking

  • @splicedenergy Wow, that was clever. Haha about as clever as Cenk.

  • Stop waiting to up the Extended Clip until well after the smaller clips it comprises. It gets you a few extra views from your completist fans like me, but it's annoying.

  • The reason why school suck is because they don't teach kids how to study. All schools expect kids to study at home but most don't and parents don't try to know if their child should be studying so kids get away with it. Its that simple. A poor kid can study just as much as a rich kid if he has a quiet place to do it. Of course if he doesn't than he is at a major disadvantage.

  • It kinda sounded like Pawlenty wants Obama to do a better job? lol

  • I got a 98% on my GED as a homeless 18 year old and finished college, but I've never made 40k. 40k sounds like a lot to me.

  • @RichoRosai

you too. Even with a degree I've never made more than 18k per year!

  • As one judge said to another judge, If you can't be fair, be arbitrary.

  • I am advising you in truth, the constitution has NOTHING to do with your rights, it is the law created to control government. If they are not abiding by it, they are in breach of contract and committing a crime. If they create an amendment that is in violation of any preexisting portion, it is null.

So we the people is all that matters!

We created it all, they are servants. They are vested in the limited authority of law meaning they have no authority. The no slavery amendment is for THEM!

  • Life expectancy in Glasgow is 54.

  • The republicans turned down the Reid plan because it didn't have cuts to entitlement programs. Republicans are fucking chomping at the bits to cut those and they won't agree to anything that doesn't have those cuts in it.

  • @cchanderson he didn't include jewish people in his stats

  • MIT (the college that matters) Caucasian 37% Asian American 28% International citizens 8% African American 8% Mexican American 7% Other/no response 6% Other Hispanic groups 3% Puerto Rican 2% Native American 1% So the 4% Penn State thing is probably a little off. You still have a ways to go before you kill off all of the white males...Though you have got a good start.
  • @CarnardP3 Teabagger.

  • On the subject of Indian Americans... maybe only the most successful and capable are able to come here? That would explain why they are doing so much better without having to rely on cultural stereotypes.

  • @prokrastinatorSF How do you imagine the parents were successful?

  • fantastic ending

  • It's true, this is he land of the pervy wankers. :)

Jesus needs to understand something about sound - we need to HEAR you. Get close to the mic. Turn down the commercials. The sound on this show is all over the place.

  • There's only one way to solve this debt issue.

    1. Temporarily increase the debt ceiling to give them room to work.

    2. Reduce spending in unnecessary programs to slow down the debt increase.

    3. Increase taxes for people who can afford it in order to reduce the debt.

Unfortunately, the Republicans seem to think that taxes are evil, but I haven't seen any reasons why. Anyone want to explain to me why Republicans are acting so stupid?

  • @OniLinkPlus Too bad you're not in congress, but I don't think they would listen to a rational plan that makes sense. Plus Republicans love to spin the tax increase as a tax increase on all, which is horseshit, The only people who would see a tax increase would be the rich. They don't even want to close the loophole that allows huge companies that profit in the billions to skip out on paying their fair share. Republicans don't give a damn about the middle class, they protect the rich always.

  • @OniLinkPlus sorry to say but. there is no explaination other than they are litterally stupid

  • @frvfilms no, ELIMINATE the rich.

We do not have capitalism as the money we use can not be capital by definition.

We use monetized debt which is socialism, the rich live in monopoly economies in VERY small numbers.

So the slaves use monetized debt, the rich use a monopoly system that it's very difficult for us to become part of. Since so few of us can get in and most that do, do so through social networking rather than actual work and earning, it needs eliminated.

    No debate, goodbye it!

  • @frvfilms Who are you suggesting we tax?

  • @frvfilms EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! EAT THE RICH! • @frvfilms "tax the rich" is exactly what my mother says...we, poor are taxed hardly while the rich aren't!

  • @frvfilms AGREED!!!!!!!

  • We put all these people in prison for silly things but it costs an estimated 40k to leave someone in prison for a year. We also need to cut spending? Why are we wasting all our governments money on putting people in prison for bullshit? *sigh*

  • while this is completely off topic i must ask you all to watch this with closed caption on, prepare to shit yourselves form laughter

  • The rich needs pay their fair share in taxs because the American people are sick of paying all of the taxese for the rich and the rich are not making any jobs at all. If the repubicans do not give the American middle class want the need to get America back to work they will make them mad and the world and then there will not be a repubican party any more.

  • i think these judges are drunk them selves

  • I wonder if Obama will suddenly snap.

  • Just a quick point about the education discussion, I believe that the primary problem is that in the information age, the autodidact is extremely common. More so than at any point in history.

Almost every major system of educating children is aimed against teaching those typed of kids, and focuses more on drill-style education.

I might sound like a hippie, but I think the best solution is 4 day school weeks year round, and independent studies based on student interests.

  • I love the message that Cenk is giving about education and motivation. Other students better get the hell outta my way. Harvard, get ready for me, baby, I'M COMING TO YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'll settle for MIT though, Or University of Chicago)

  • To answer your question, Ana, Justice is blind (sometimes stupid, frequently unreasonable).

  • Cenk, Breivik can be convicted on separate counts for each murder, and that's aside from the fact that Norway has a law preventing dangerous criminals from being released.

  • the end was funny, how do you guys find that stuff:P

  • Its not that easy for single parents to just tell their kids to go to school and stick it out. But there are many more factors to consider. In my own experience my dad was gone to work before I got up for school and with 2 jobs he was also gone when I got home. Being lower income and struggling to pay off debt and putting food on the table contributes to parents not being around to be that authority figure.

  • Obama knuckles under the Teapublicans who take it in the ass from Rush. Fuck all the negotiation, just crown the fat fuck king so the peasants can start a rebellion

  • well thats the american justice 22.30

  • why can't they have the negotiations in public?

  • obama is a fucking puppet

  • Everyone's a criminal, except for the real criminals who get away with what they do... Kill someone in self defense, go to jail for life. Kill someone with your car like this and hey, it's no problem, you get off.

  • She was all ready convicted, but today was her sentencing. The judge had far more common sense than the prosecuter and gave her a year of probation and a retrail if she wants. SMH that it even went that far.

  • It's hard not to go cookoo for cocoa puffs though, they are so choclatey...

  • @CarnardP3 There are peaceful revolutions, the Egyptians and the Tunisians did it. We can too! You are so full of hate. calm down and smoke a joint before talking to me again. Or better yet go to a therapist because maybe they will show why you are such a hateful person. I know I was just like you. PEACE CONQUERORS ALL!

  • @CarnardP3 I am a liberal and I am not weak so I resent that comment. And I understand politics all too well. I deal with it everyday at work. So please spare me. Get off your high and mighty horse and go be that bad ass instead of talking shit online to me and everyone else. Why don't you try actually DO SOMETHING, instead of sit around.

  • Also some ppl in this world do just fine without college educations. I have a college educations and still make under $40,000. While dozens of ppl I know don't have college educations and make between $40,000-50,000 a year. In America, it's all about who you know not what you know.

  • @CarnardP3 Are you a TROLL?

  • Cenk I have to disagree with the education thing. My parents didn't expect me to go to college I chose to do it. My parents expected my brother to go to college because he was so smart and didn't. I believe it;s up to the individual at the end of the day but I also believe that MANY FACTORS in their environment influence their decision.

  • I really am surprised that all but cenk have those views about the high school drop out issue.. Cenk is spot on, you have a child, you have to do whatever you have to do no matter how hard it is to get your child educated so that he doesn't end up in the same position their parents are in. There is no excuse, if you care about your child's education 8 times out of 10 then will make it through highschool without a problem. This drop out rate is also a function of the anti-intellectual movement.

  • Layin' that liberal classism on a little thick don't you think Cenk?

  • Cenk you ALWAYS go to the story of your dad coming to this country and extrapolate that to ALL parents.

People who uproot themselves to go to another country for a better life tend to be exceptional. But guess what? For each immigrant there are millions that sit on their ass in their town/village/city and do nothing to change their life.

In a country that cuts education while it increases defense education you can't be surprised that people don't care about education as much as they should.

  • I don't agree with cenk on the college thing, college shouldn't always be expected, what about everyone that wants to go into trades? Unless that's classified as college, I'm a carpenter and I make more money than most of my friends that went to college and university plus I learned in the real world instead of in a classroom most of the time.

  • Ana, I'm a pervy wanker.

  • You know what? I agree with the basic principals in this. Yes, kids need to stay in school, but blaming parents and even the kids in these cases is not the way to go. There's some cases sure where it is, but think of some of these cases. For example, I had to drop out because my Crohns Disease got so unmanagable that I couldn't attend classes; Does this mean I won't go on to get my GED and go to college? I think the real issue is the motivation to excel in general. Not Highschool, but in life.

  • @theyoungturks He might only get a 21 year jail sentence however if they deem he is still a danger to society they can keep him in prison longer than 21 years

  • I agree with Cenk to some degree on Education but align myself more with Ana and the guys. Hispanic/Black children particularly young males at an early age begin to feel an inferiority this effects everything especially schooling. Why a lot look to rapping, drug dealing or sports as their only greater options. There is an mind-set in a lot of Black/brown communities that Education is for white people. We sit in school and learn a hell of a lot about History through a white supremest view.

  • @terrinyc29 That's fucking retarded.

  • have you seen what glen beck has to say on the Norway Killings subject?

  • Pawlenty kind of reminds me of that scene at the start of ET when li'l Elliot is trying to join his brother and his friends in a game of Dungeons&Dragons, trying to be heard going: "I...I'm..I'm ready to play you guys."

  • LOL High School is retarded, I dropped the fuck out. I got a GED now and on my way to getting an AS in Engineering.

  • Ok so some quick math... if 72% of the population is white and 17% of caucasian high school students drop out. That's a number higher than all other minority drop outs COMBINED and DOUBLED... wtf... racism is stupid... we need true equality here because this is BAD.

  • @stunnaonflyrims where are you getting your facts? Im all for equality, but that is not true.

  • @TheKratnoff The Census... lol...

  • @stunnaonflyrims You seem to be spouting shit, maybe if you'd finished high school numbers wouldn't confuse you so much.

  • @nilbud Are you an idiot? These are verified Census numbers! Not only that but several FEDERAL organizations utilize and independently verify these statistics to be within reasonable margin. At this point you are ignoring truth, fact, and numerical value... do some research.

  • @stunnaonflyrims The media fuels racism. I'd bet money that if it weren't for them, there wouldn't be much racism left. They constantly divide people.

  • @shitthrowingmonkey1 Point well made sir...

  • Tim Pawlenty is the kind of guy that would say sorry when he cums...

  • @Greeny992UK I was thinking he's the kind of guy who masturbates in the corner, crying, while his wife gets banged by a real man.

  • @MultiUniv3rsal Lmfao awesome comment. Thumbs up for you sir.

  • @Greeny992UK Pawlenty's got too much sand in his vagina to cum properly

  • @Greeny992UK ....and he should...

  • So, basically what Boehner is saying is the American people will get spending cuts to education, health care, public services, parks, infrastructure, and law enforcement, etc but we get to keep paying the same amount in taxes.

    Am I missing something?

  • @brandnutopian no, your taxes will be raised. all those cuts will still have to be covered somehow. that coverage will come from you the consumer having to pay more for goods and services.

  • @snoopyloopy Yeah, I get that.

I simply find Boehner's proposal absurd at face value, never mind the repercussions of his stupidity.

  • Cenk you are 100% correct on education. Success in education comes directly from the parents encouragement

  • So.. in Collage at the end of the semester they give all the students a form to fill out for each class to ask them how their teachers were, 1-10, comments, etc. And if someone gets bad enough comments they'll get called in, if this continues to happen they'll get fired.

    ca[dot]ratemyteachers[dot]com/matthew-ram/350631-t/2

My math teacher in high school for grade 11 and 12. "Can't speak English" "doesn't explain things well" shouldn't be teaching. Ask the students, a lot of them want to learn.

  • @53:28-53:30 - I love Ana's resilience XD

  • If the teachers give realistic grades (which would be bad because almost no one is actually capable of learning, retaining, and or using critical thinking) then they don't get bonuses or whatever monetary bullshit they're offered by the administration to raise the overall grade of the school. I should have to actually open a textbook to pass a test, but I learned early that in high school you didn't have to do that with most subjects.

  • Editing a little off today?

  • I agree with Cenk on terms of expectations. When I attended high school they treated us like prisoners at times. And guess how most of the kids acted? Like dumbshits. From the student's point of view there is no respect for because of the system's inability to respect the students. Not to mention the trend that teachers are forced to follow to increase the school's budget. That is the raising of grades without good cause. Meaning you can slack off, do a mediocre project and still get a B.
