The complete story is as follows:
Once there was an asura called Kalahala. After a long and weary battle, he was destroyed by Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. However, both of them were engulfed with pride and ahamkara.

Devi Baghavatham is Shakthi puranam. Adhi Shakthi is the supreme, the black hole of the universe and the most powerful. There is also Markandeya puranam. I think both were written by Vyasa who also classified vedas into 4 divisions.
Shiva and Vishnu are not two different Gods. They are all incarnations of one another. They are all manifestations of the supreme power which is believed to be from Adhi Shakthi.

But this is not a baseless story as some are claiming here. This video (based on a puran) is an artistic way of making a religious point - that the goddesses are the shakti (power) of gods. The authors of this puran used a domestic spat situation because that is something ordinary people ARE FAMILIAR WITH.

The bottom line is: These stories do more harm than good. It's better to worship Lord Perumal with all your heart, to give, to serve, to really work on transforming yourself into a better person. As someone else said, this is a cinema act - meant only to sell tickets and make a "fun" story. Lakshmi and Vishnu are one - Lakshminarayana. I am not even Vaisnava and I am telling this.

This is symbolism about how the world was made or a disaster.They r 4ever bound H2O +o2 for fire. What Shiva was is the element fire, and destruction on the earth when it was forming. The symbol of his wife is Liquid water. When he "killed" her, (fire)danced on the earth and chaos reigned. But after a while order was restored (see his hair) when his wife was resurrected she was liquid water formed again with his cooling. HER new form this time with life within (the green color she took on).

Who ever made this video, it is clear that, he likes and worships shakti and a great feminine supporter. I will not argue this. But according to all Vedas VISHNU IS ULTIMATE (can't say soul, he is energy himself and soul is made up of energy), He has created law that only man should not do creation ( then there would be no womens needed), so he created women from his own. It is not possible to kill power or energy (in modern physics laws also).

Such stories of Hindu Gods fighting among themselves, behaving like ordinary men and women, don't have any evidence and are just myths. Having said that, it is important for us to see the message that these stories convey and not focus on whether the Gods really quarrelled. Here, the message is - ego clashes between married couples must be prevented. And to convey such messages, Hinduism has many stories with Gods as the main characters. That is the significance of these stories.

Aryan meaning is the one who conform with vedic culture. That is one who practices chatur-varna, worship cow and so on.
Rig Veda mentioned that the battle of 10Kings was between Aryan group and Mleccha(not conforming to vedic custom).
Kiratas, Yavanas, Khambojas, Saka and so are mentioned as Mlceeha.

People, please don't get excited and confused. Though I am not very sure, but this one is a Lila done by Lord Vishnu found in Shakti Puran to make people understand the value of famine power also known as Adi Shakti. Every men including Lord himself after taking men form gets separated from this divine power for a more versatile application of cosmic creation hence he has to marry Devi Lakshmi. Yes! People also not forget story of Mahasati Anshuiya. Lord Brhma, Vishnu and Shiva goes to her in fake form when her husband was not present and demands that they will eat only if she become nude in front of them while serving the food. Devi Anshuiya did served them after removing her all cloths but before that she converted them all into babies. Thus The Lord's proven value of satitava which can turn lord into babies and it does not mean Lord's become felonious (दुराचारी).

Devi Baghavatham is Shakthi puranam. Adhi Shakthi is the supreme, the black hole of the universe and the most powerful. There is also Markandeya puranam. I think both were written by Vyasa who also classified vedas into 4 divisions.

the fact is this clip is little bit fictional but otherwise these epic may found either in skanda purana, srimad devi bhagavatham or markendeya purana, I couldn't recall exactly but I remember reading this epic where the supreme goddess gave shiva,vishnu and bhrama three brides which is gowri, laxmi and saraswathi with a condition they should care for them otherwise she will take it back...etc

Hinduism teaches the feminine is the source or power of creation and the male aspect is the logical or decides how that source is used. Thats what is great about Hinduism. Each god 9/10times has a wife and each Goddess has a Husband.
They need eachother to work. Without Lady parvati Lord Shiva would sit in meditation almost continuously, without Shiva, Parvati would not have the energy to perform her good deeds, nor would she have been able to have Ganesha.
Without Lakshmi, Vishnu is without power but without Vishnu Lakshmi is without reason to live either.
