  • How about water jacket around the drum.. this causes the flue gasses to cool and DROP!

  • Paul Wheaton is awesome. Found him through Jack Spirko of The Survival Podcast

  • This is great. It really helped me figure out what I want to try with mine.

  • What would you do if something happened in the ducts - Do they clog much? Having to pull everything out seems like it would be a long process.

Excellent video, anyway! I'm really fascinated by rocket mass heaters lately.

  • Perlite and clay. Take a ball and press together with fingers. If it sqsueezes down like clay, add more perlite til ball explodes in the hand when squeezing. put between two stove pipes that are about 3" diameter apart. (can bend metal over to edge=phalangie.) The cover, about 4" wider diameter, is sitting on fire bricks that make a shaft into the exhaust ducts, covered by a metal plate over top the bricks, and covered in sand and brick. (missing fotos), next you tube! Might cost ya though!

  • Excellent video, Kelly!

  • How did you make the combustion chamber?

  • Duct Tape Bob vs the Hamburger Roper. LOL

    Nice crew of folks!

  • Neat demo, Paul. I notice you do have a friend sitting on it toward the end - how well does this 'portable' thermal mass demonstrate the butt-warming effect?

  • hey! that's me!
