I think everyone is seeing this the wrong way. I don't think Larry Johnson is implying cryonics itself is wrong (whether it is or not is a personal choice that we shouldn't be forcing on anyone else) but he's against the methods Alcor is using.

@slewofdamascus That is not a very realistic scenario...first if science was so adavnced as to grow whole organs they would do so specifically from the host as to make a perfect genetic match..they wouldnt harvest tissues from an aged body different from the patient needing transplant. Instead youd be awoken young and healthy in a wonderful technological future of great material wealth just by default of the powerful technology needed to awaken you.

Actually even jesus says to "raise the dead" and if cryonics works then by not choosing it you could be commiting suicide..a great sin against god. God tells us to charish life and preserve it. Simple fact: cryonics is a civilized, rational alternative to the barbaric practices of burial and cremation. It is the right and moral thing to do regardless of the final outcome. If you care about someone, you have them preserved after their death, and if you enjoy being alive you make arrangements for your own preservation, simple as that.
