  • 3:33 this kid is a beast

  • There will never been another Christopher Hitchens. I could only hope to be 1/10 as clever as him on his worst day.

  • I love how the atheist uploader deleted my comment that proved the existence of God.

  • @il9agr17 You can not PROVE the existence of God. If you think you can, then you're blasphemous and ignorant of what evidence means. If you know you can't and don't bother trying to prove it, then you agree with Hitchens.

  • @il9agr17 which was... I'd be FASCINATED to hear something that proves something that cannot be proved. Fascinated, like in the way you might be fascinated to see a retarded person do a calculus problem.

  • @sc41295 I think we both agree that the Koran was written more than 1400 years ago. But what we don't agree is about who wrote it, you think man did and I think a greater force out there did. Since atheist refused to see the world as evidence of a greater power, I will give you something from the Koran. This book states the resemblance of a sperm cell to a leech 1400 years ago. The microscope proves this resemblance 600 yrs ago. Tell me how could a man 1400 yrs ago possibly know such thing.

  • @sc41295 If I'm convinced I'll turn to atheism.

  • @il9agr17

It's probably the other way around. If you stop being convinced that easily, you can not deny the disbelief in ALL these credulous religious claims and metaphysical concepts.

  • Hitchens apparently had to fight Lynn Witham, Dr. David Ross and Dr. Burton White of San Mateo County.

  • His take down of Falwell is, alone, worth the price of admission. Why people felt compelled to defend Falwell, "that little toad" is beyond me. Unfortunately, we will always have others to take his place, especially hiding in the dark, dank cellars of the GOP primary electorate.

  • It is true that Christopher converted to catholicism on his death bed, he said it best the world loose another religious nut rather than an atheist.

  • @kramdoogs FUCK YOU ASSHOLE. LIE ABOUT YOUR DICK SIZE, IT'D MORE BELIEVABLE YOU MISERABLE SACK OF SHIT!!!

  • @Capt777harris Read kramdoogs' comment one more time, please. Focus especially on the last part of the sentence. See? It was witty, it was snide, it was charmingly antireligious and it doesn't warrant a furious caps lock answer.

And speaking of religious nuts and ugly toads -poor amphibians, btw, to be associated with scum such as Falwell-: Pat Robertson was born 1930. Ergo he's, what 81?82?

Is it okay to be looking forward to *that* BBC obit special?

    (I don't care if it isn't.)

  • @Capt777harris Dumbass your worse than religious nutjobs you didnt even read kramdogs comment properly. You are incapable of processing wit.

  • I first heard about Christopher Hitchens about two months ago. Since then I watched every debate I could find, watched almost every snippet I could find. One minute ago I discovered that he passed away.... A lot of "famous" people that we like and almost seem to know die. But I never had this feel that mankind lost - not only someone important, but something important. I will order his books one by one, and I will tell everyone I know about his philosophy. Rest in Peace Hitch.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!! Christopher so owns the fools that are preaching utter nonsense.

  • "...pinching his chubby little flanks..." priceless!

  • Floored when I saw him in the Santa hat. XD

  • HITCHSLAPPED

  • A Million Thanks Hitchens!!!

  • Let Us Rest His Soul. Rest in peace Chris.

  • C.H gave us a good start it is up to us will we continue his lifework.

  • @NovemDecem Haha, nice

  • @il9agr17 Gods high stakes multiple choice exam. It must be awful living in your 'world' where this is all one big test which the majority of people are going to fail and fail quite spectacularly.

  • RIP Hitch. I wish you could see the positive impact of your work.

  • Rock the Galaxies our great friend.

  • Hitchens asked for a priest on his deathbed you know.

    The priest became an atheist

  • @NovemDecem Brilliance. Sheer, fucking brilliance.

  • @NovemDecem

watch his inteview with anderson cooper,he said that if u heared that i asked for priest it means that im hallucinating so there you go.for poeple say things under the infleuance of morphine.

  • @NovemDecem lol loved this, put a smile on my face. thumps up :)

  • boys, here's your fucking male role model right here.

  • Men like Hitchens live forever!

  • @durteedan sadly its too late : (

  • 2:10-2:16 epic!

  • My hero

  • RIP To this great intellectual!

  • Comment removed

  • It saddens me that there will never again be a Hitchslap.

  • Wow that first speech was incredible. He was one of a kind.

  • RIP you brilliant man.

  • R.I.P. Christopher Hitchens.

  • Rest in peace, Christopher Hitchens. The world is a darker place without you.

  • @evilagent Yes.

  • The guy from CNN is an idiot. He says to one of the most famous atheists in the world, "Christopher, I'm not sure you believe in heaven..." Somebody gives this moron a dictionary so he can look up the definition of "atheist." Wait a minute, maybe someone else should look it up for him.

  • @DeaconCliff, a great answer that i come across about morality is from a Richard Dawkins' response to a morality question. Search Youtube for Dawkins on Morality

  • @DeaconCliff, our morality has greatly improved over the past centuries. I dont think it became worst. If we want to improve our morals to be better, we should cherry pick the good things that we can learn past events and improve upon it, which is constantly happening in our society. We have tools, aka science, to help us decide better in improving morality of the place we live in.

  • Hi bxeatr I have a question I would like to ask Hitchens or any other atheist. Would you agree that our level of morality and ethics is becoming lower and lower? I ask this (I am a Christian) because both my wife and I work with youth. My wife is a teacher, and I work with youth in conflict with the law. Anyway, we were talking on the topic some time ago at how the respect for authority by our youth is so non existent, it is actually scary. We didn't think of discussing 'morals'... cont

  • @DeaconCliff - When education, income and the surrounding environment decline, social problems increase. All of these have declined somewhat in the last 30 years, even the last decade of improvements won't change the fact the poorly educated assholes of the last 30 years are now having kids themselves.... Who can teach them morals when they didn't learn any themselves?

  • "pinching his chubby little flanks" hahaha, man i wish i had half the verbal fortitude as Hitch

  • Love it!!!!!

  • Dawkins is a dunce, Hitchens is much better informed. Anyone that does not know that substance equals soul for a theologian like Dawkins is not only ignorant but stupid as well.

  • Actually no.

It is more reasonable to expect that in 500 years time all "religions" will be regarded as a quaint quirk of a previous era of ignorance.

And, no doubt there will still be a few pockets of lunacy still squawking in the USA - the current level of pollution there will take somewhat longer to eradicate.

  • Hitchens never wants to admit he is wrong. Example, foreign policy. He never admits that the USA or Israel has done some bad, immoral stuff just like Noam Chomsky will never admit that we do any good. The truth is in the middle. We have done some good but we have also done some bad. Why won't these public intellectuals admit that they are imperfect in their reasoning. They want to put everything in a straight line, linear. It is not like this. Truth is multi level, like the M-Theory.

  • @JayGatsbyOdysseus While I disagree with Hitchens on Iraq (and completely agree in every way on religion), he is definitely no Israel supporter.

  • @JayGatsbyOdysseus You are completely off the mark here. Hitchens have always criticized the policies of Israel. He was also opposed to the Gulf War, Nicaragua, East Timor, Indochina etc etc. Chomsky however is only capable of changing the subject to USA whatever topic. Try to ask him about China and he will probably tell you about CIA's operation against Pinochet in 1973. What a waste of time. The old man is probably sitting at home jerking it off to Deng, Castro and Chavez right now.

  • @olavm91 Hitchens wants to wholeheartedly dismiss certaing people and nations without understanding that a combination of good and bad exists within us. For instance, he wants to deride Mother Teresa after she is dead. I never heard him being critical when she was alive. Hell, I don't like her going over to India and telling this overpopulated country to not use birth control because the Pope says it is against god. This is crazy. However, she did many good things fighting hunger.

  • @JayGatsbyOdysseus His TV documentary "Hell's Angel" was aired in 1994 when Mother Teresa was alive, and he published 'The Missionary Position' in 1995 when she was still alive. The only thing the woman basically did, was letting her patients die slowly in agony without providing them with any pain killers (modern science is 'anti-god' after all) while she prayed for them. The pain was a good thing she though, because that would bring the closer to God. Good riddance.

  • @olavm91 Not enough space here to explain Hitchen's linear thought pattern. Read my book, Small Town Bachelor Expanded Version. You can find it at amazon. I discuss religion, politics, race, sex, Scandanavia, George Bush, marijuana, and many other topics. It is a deep book but also funny. Make sure you get the Expanded Version. I rewrote some passages and tried to clean up any typos. You must remember that a documentary is to be objective journalism showing each side, not propoganda.

  • @claireshana That's a great video.

Don't get me wrong. Hitchens is the man and is a much better spokesman for Atheism but I do believe Dawkins is slightly more knowledgeable on most Atheistic arguements.

Hitchens is easily the coolest Atheist though.

  • @claireshana Juxtapose The God Delusion and God is Not Great and it's almost an indisputable notion that Dawkins presents more competent and tenable arguments than Hitchens, who much more frequently, utilizes non-sequiturs, ad hominems and irrelevant syllogisms. Dawkins appeals to science as opposed to Hitchens who appeals to emotions.

Also, the Atheist-Fascist-Communist argument is among the worst Theists have ever come up with. It is an appallingly easy argument to refute.

  • @claireshana Hitchens is certainly more entertaining because he's an immaculate rhetorician and is remarkably knowledgeable on supposed biblical history. All excluded fields, and believe me there are a lot, go to Dawkins. He's got much better arguments against God's existence and his book the trounces Hitchens in that regard.

  • i agree with it all but i think he was just being mean and over the top about farwell

  • Ironically enough there is reason to believe that the Isaac/Abraham story is actually propganda to get the group to move away from child sacrifice - and move to animal sacrifice (sorry animals). Puts it in an interesting persepctive if you think of a lot of the stories especially in Genesis as having some purpose in communicating to the group.

  • loling @ the woman who said "that's your opinion". It sound like when i argue with my brother about atheism. ( he is the theist )

  • @durteedan

Indeed! It's such a shame that he got cancer. He is basically my hero! He made me realize how stupid religion really is ( I was a christian for 18 years, I'm 20 now). Hope you beat the cancer, Christopher!

  • Chris is so right on with everything he says ..I just love the guy

  • Society is not that old. It took millions of years to evolve and we've only really got going in the last 6000 years or so. Every time i hear religious people speak about their bronze age rationalizations of the world i am reminded of this. I think future generations will laugh at how foolish so many of us were all because a book taught billions of people to not use the true gift we have: the ability to reason.

  • Atheist here.

I hate it when I debate theists. It seems that I always loose. Not that I am that bad with arguing but I just realized that the concept of "GOD" is immune to argument. They can make this word mean anything. It is a powerful word actually.

    Damn it.

  • @eldrinirdle Yes...and that's our problem. If Christians responded to common sense and reason, there's be no such thing as Christians. But you shouldn't lose a debate - they have no sensible arguments, no matter how well they state them.

  • W Polsce potrzebujemy takiego polskiego Hitchens'a

  • from a cup!

  • How fortunate for those who could keep company with such a gentleman.

  • Maybe the atheist cannot find God for the same reason a thief cannot find a policeman.

  • In 500 years there will be a cult..sorry, a "religion" that claims that Harry Potter was real.

They will get in charge of governments and torture those that disbelieve their tales, they will rule for hundreds of years until finally the people realize that their methods belie their claims of purity.

Then they will be relegated to mumbling chants on Sunday's in gaudy buildings.

  • @trigon1962 same goes for Star Wars....Sam Harris raised this point.......I think the "religious" wars over Star Wars will be between those who believe the prequels are legitimate and those who do not......and how funny in a gruesome way that would be to us all

  • @trigon1962 There won't be room for that in 500 years. In 500 years humans will either be wiped out, completely religious or completely non-religious. We're running out of space on Earth. Resources too. That can only ever end in war.

  • @Draeka I no longer believe the cries of "we're overpopluated"

You could fit the earths entire 7 billion population into an area the size of Texas (268,581 square miles), each person, man, woman & child would have their own 1,089 square foot of space.

Naturally, you would need more room for roads, water treatment, etc, but the point still illustrates how much room we really have.

  • @Draeka True that.

  • @trigon1962 idk man he did die and get resurrected and send voldemort to hell..

  • @trigon1962 I am a believer, but I fully agree with what you say. Religion in its beginning was belief. But over the years religion and belief became two separate things. Most religion becomes false, but belief remains. And thats how God still tests us today.

  • @il9agr17 I don't mean to be cruel or a smartass, but iif you truly believe that "gods" can watch what you do, hear what you say and even think then you probably belong in a straightjacket.

  • SELLING PENCILS FROM A CUP ---i love the way he says that....pure comedy

  • a beautiful mind

  • pencils...*breath*...from a cup!! lol

  • wonder how is mr hitchens now?

  • @thethoughtsofme Aw. Did Hitchens say something wrong about the magical sky daddy?

  • @GluttonForSex hilarious

  • @GluttonForSex Rest in peace, Christopher. You are loved.

  • @thethoughtsofme i think you'll find he's rather expensive

  • Hitchens is the man

  • selling pencils.... FROM A CUP!

  • he is so awesome. he just says whatever the hell he wants.

  • Kill all the Religion's.

  • @LLOYD19851012 Didn't someone already try that? And look at how well that venture turned out.

  • @writersblock26 It's only been tried once, two more times before it 3rd time lucky.

  • @LLOYD19851012 Hmm...you're clever. ; )

  • FROM A CUP

  • "pinching his chubby little flaps" lol

  • @machngunjoe (flanks)

  • Thanks for these wonderful snippets! Mr. Hitchens is so eloquent and clear thinking. Wouldn't it be a lovely thing if we all had his ability to express ourselves so well? Best wishes to him.

  • 1:54 through 2:20 basically the best thing I've ever seen.

  • I think many people forget how great Christopher Hitchens is when it comes argumens against religion and people under religion, he might be a terrible philosopher, but he is probably the greastest living athiest this day who dares to stand the hordes of religion without ignoring them like many of athiest usually do.

  • FROM. A. CUP.

  • I wish Hitchens would cut loose and tell us what he really thinks.

  • The level of pwnage in the video is amazing...

  • if someone could tell me what debate was at 0:13 please let me know

    thanks :)

  • @emmetLshavinski

Hitchens vs Jay Richards. Search it.

  • He truly believes that he is the first person that has thought about these. He simply combines his attitudes of self-righteousness and disdain for others that think differently. This, coincidentally, is what he accuses Christians of doing.

  • @CoatWear He's more moral than any christian I've ever known. The fact that you cannot see beyond your own nose is not his problem but yours

  • He is an awesome person

  • @DJFlozone : Finally, someone with true gay-pride...

  • Comment removed

  • seriously the best comment yet, ty Sir

  • Such a legend.......The truth sometimes hurts, but the truth is everything.

  • Hitchens a Legend...!

  • Thank you for posting this, bxeatr.

  • I completely accept and enjoy that people hold beliefs than are different to my own. In fact part of my belief system embraces this fact without wanting to convert, correct or clash with them. To me every religion or faith believes it is the one true belief system and that nonbeleivers should be shunned or converted. That is monumentally ignorant and toxic. How can something be a thing of peace if it denigrates me for not believing in it. No god that I believe in would be happy with that view.

  • I always love how it appears as though Hitchens is not listening, then he takes them apart piece by piece with their misstatements

  • chubby little flanks. Love it

  • Epic stuff

  • 5:50 From a cup!

  • great guy

  • W.W.H.D.

    What Would Hitchens Do

  • Hitchens is a beast! Hells yeah!

  • Hitch, you magnificent SOB, kick cancer ass and get back to work. We need you out there fighting for sanity and reason.

  • I wonder what he's like when he's drunk.

  • @carpediem881000 I wonder what he's like when he's sober.

  • I love Hitchens, he is my idol ;D

  • i love you hitchslapper.......

  • Christopher: 2:17 "I'd say no, fuck you."

    Monotheists: "B-But Why?"

    Christopher: "Because fuck you."

  • Hitchens is one of our greatest thinkers! My Atheist friends will enjoy "Religious Fanatic debates Atheist" on my channel.

  • What did he say at the beginning of the video?? Couldn't hear it...

  • Hitch rules

  • Theists are undeniably fortunate that Dawkins doesn't have the intense belligerence that Hitchens is characterized by.

  • @AllisonsAnarchy Ha, nailed it! Lucky bastards.

  • @AllisonsAnarchy

    agreed.

  • @AllisonsAnarchy this is true lol

  • @AllisonsAnarchy If only Dawkins' brain ran on Johnny Walker Black we've have that to.

  • @AllisonsAnarchy This is probably the most I've ever laughed at not only a Youtube comment, but any on the internet. Too true sir. Too true.

  • @AllisonsAnarchy ya dawkins scienctific knowledge,intelligence+hitchens debating skills=unstoppable force

  • 2:21-3:13

    The Hitch who stole Christmas

  • Thank you for posting this, bxeatr.

  • Yes, but Willian Lane Craig is not gay.

  • "That's your opinion"

"Well, guess who's saying it, that's a clever thing to say"

    win

  • I love him. How can his brother be such an asshole? I think he's jealous.

  • jewish extremism aka circumsision? genital mutilation acording to some intactivists?

  • lol!! 2:05 - 2:20

  • This is not "preached" to children, they are indoctrinated with it!!!

  • religion is the biggest disease in society today!! its a disease that is passed from parent to child, from generation to generation, like a birth defect!!!

  • @LadyScorpio39 Making religion the devil and erasing it from society will not make the problems of mankind go away.

  • @encii79

no, but it would eradicate 90% of them!!!!

  • @LadyScorpio39 Ah, I see. Muslims believe that the world would be a better place if only all people would believe in Allah. The crusaders believed that problems would dissappear if only all were Christians. The Nazis believed problems would go away with Jews, atheists believe all would be better without religion. The only "problem" that goes away is a different worldview that humans tend to demonize. There would still be wars, violence, persecution, prejudice and racism bec.of human nature.

  • hitch may be the "antichrist" because he made me lose religion. probably made a lot of people question religion.

  • Forgive the biblical imagery....but listening to Hitchens is "like a cleansing fire."

  • @gallantly1 Well said :)

  • "and selling pencils from a CUP!"

  • You can never have enough Hitch in your life I say . !!

  • I would say Hitchens = God, but the irony would be painful. Instead I'll say Hitchens = LEGEND.

  • when Hitch says "did you say" 3.35 you know its gonna be good
