Got to tell you - I didn't like the idea of the CBC replacing the iconic HNIC theme song - it was as Canadian as Maple Syrup and frozen lakes - however, I must admit - I like this song and the new opening to HNIC is fantastic - it stirs my blood and gets me nostalgic for everything that is great about this sport and our country, CANADA.

they didnt replaced it they didnt have the right to have it on the show anymore because cbc and the lady that wrote the song had like a 30 year contract or something wich ended like last year and someone else bought the rights to have the song on their show

@max432156 That's the gist of it yeah. CBC's contract renewal offer was for the song itself, not the royalties from things likes commercials and ringtones, of which Claiman wanted a slice.

This is a great song. I don't understand why people are so attached to the old one, it has played itself out. TSN made a mistake by picking it up instead of doing something original.

its only a song thats played at start of show honestly if you watch HNIC for the song and not the hockey then you should watch it at all.

CBC sure dropped the ball with the whole anthem thing, and unfortuantely this is the result! Wierd, someone from Beaumont, AB sounds like there actually from the Nfld. Having to watch the awful TSN telecasts to listen to the original HNIC theme is the worst part of the whole deal. Just my opinion!

At least this intro video actually has a short clip of a Canuck at the end. I was so choked that the last one didn't show them even once. They are a Canadian team too! Good intro and I actually like the music too!

Also, please, at least get rid of the commentaries in the backround! You hear that more than the song!! Just use sound effects for the slap shots, the hitting, and the skatings and the crowd noise! But get rid of the commentary!
