@ChargerMiles007 nah you can run with the outers or inners off and it wont hurt it the inners are the same as a regualr truck unless you have a Cab and chassis rear end.
ahaha that piece of crap ford just got smoked. Im buying a 73 dodge dart sport in jan cant wait exited to see what i can do to it. just has a 318 v8 in it for now but thinking about droping a 340 in it.
You can stick with the 318, save money, it can go very fast with a built up 318, I have been in a Dart with a 4 speed built up 318, it was SCARY!!!!! :)
I do know that some of the ones at the drags are far from stock. There used to be one with a 340 Dodge engine in it that was pretty fast, unfortunately it was lost in a garage fire when a battery drill caught fire! >:((
@bluegumproductions It was just slower because it seemed like it was a 5 speed and the guys cars obviously not set up for this stuff like the duster. You can tell it's a gt, he's movin pretty good by the end of the track. Remember this is how 99-00 gt's looked also, not only the later model v6's.

Im sure the Duster had a 340 in it,that's why I knew that mustang wasn't going to touch it. The 340 was better than the 350 or 302,it outmatched both of them
@tigerboy60 I agree and I currently own a 5.0 (that was a 4.6 in the vid btw) but owned a 72 Duster 340 (not as strong as the older 340's) and it was one hell of a motor. I love my lil 302 but would give it up for a 340 in a heart beat.

Yeah, 318s can be made into powerful engines using some fairly cheap parts, I saw one in a Dart that was Scary Fast to ride in! :)
