  • U can just download ps3 media file on it pc open it and will say start click start then go to it ps3 and click search for media player once is found under Neath it will have everything from it pc hard drive and then access ur HDD and look for the films and copy u don't need USB becoz mines is 4gb and I have movies about 10 gb

  • just downlaod the video file. But i have an epic problem, HD video is about 8 GB a movie right, and you can only connect an HDD to your ps3 when its formatted to some kinda format, so you cant put big files on your HDD, thus you cant get the files to your ps3...

    see the problem.

  • Isn't that illegal cause DVD's are copy protected but who gives a shit can I get a link for the software

  • theres no link on the video can someone pls tell me were u got the software?

  • That the worst tut eva

  • or , open media server on your pc.. i can make a video about how..

and then download a movie / music to your pc

and then go to ps3 -> movies and then go on your pc with your ps3 klick /\ and select copy .. if you dont understand . ask me and i will make a video about HOW..

  • can a PS3 play DVD movies?

  • @evildeevid yes the PS3 can play DVD movies, also blu ray player can also play DVD

  • every one that disliked has no skills in computer/console things (thumbs up if you agree)

  • Can I transfer it wirelessly?

  • XMB video section? wheres that??????

  • how do u acces them from hdd? what is hdd?

  • @colbyward123 a hard drive, so when he says hdd hes referring to the ps3s hard drive or an external hard drive

  • who the hell would press the dislike button?

    you idiots

  • i downloaded the program, followed what it said, went to download a dvd ripper, none of the 4 it gave me was able to download...

  • @Nickia94 use vuze its soooooooooooooo much easier than this. sorry for bad english.

  • could you do this for a game too?

  • @NsFPeAcE of course not

  • Crappy Video Specially The Quality...

  • My file is 8GB and I cant put more than 4gb on my hard drive because its a fat32. and i know that the ps3 cant read ntsc hard drives. so how do i transfer it?

  • I use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD, Handbrake to convert to MP4 and then transfer to a USB or external HDD.

A good tip is to create a folder named VIDEO, and copy the mp4s there. Means you can just click on the USB/HDD icon in the video tab, instead of pressing triangle then open.

  • i bet if u put a game on a usb and putit on a game it would work ;)

  • @mikethecoolist

    dumbass

  • THANK U THANK U THANK U

  • guys try dvdmagic its the best ripper and copier!

  • Will it fix the "No titles were found" problem?

  • This is easy but takes forever!!!!!!!!

  • @pacmaniac129 how you do it?idk how

  • dude I thought you had a method to rip the movie with the PS3 using an executable on a USB drive. Everyone should already know this.

  • thank you it really helps me alots ; i download inglorious basterds in blue ray format mp4 and damn it ; it looks Great guys try out the torrents files it's just awesome ...

  • its hard as fuck i cant do it =(

  • nice, but it only works for movies that are on a DVD?? welp either way nice vidd

  • when i watch blu-ray movies on my ps3 that i have downloaded, it's lagging, is it the movies fault or my tv-ps3 settings?

  • Can someone explain to me why you cant just stick your dvd into the ps3 and copy it that way? instead of all the other crap

  • @sj8h Because DVDs are 'copy protected' or encrypted, especially hollywood movies, to prevent you from simply copying it over like that. Unfortunately, this long process is the only way to go for those that want their movie collection on their PS3.

You can always just put in the damn DVD/blu-ray everytime you want to watch it, which will look better than what you get after ripping it and compressing it to put it on your PS3.

  • @sj8h because that feature is not built into the PS3 and nobody has released a hack to enable it

  • how does it work, i'm doing avatar in a standard DVD for i don't have a blu-ray drive, and when i go to selct the file to convert, i click on my D: dirve and then it goes to "VIDEO_TS", then i open that and there are about 30 files, and it won't let me select all of them, please help

  • Hey I have a question. Can you download a Blu-Ray using a torrent and then somehow get it to your Blu-Ray player (which is the PS3) and still keep the Hi-Def and not lose any quality? I'm curious to know please, because there is this movie available on Blu-Ray only for download. Thanks.

  • One detail: how can a computer read blu-ray discs?

A standard dvd-reader uses a red laser, but a blu-ray disc uses a blues laser, which is thinner, and gives more room.

  • @Mathidal Computers can have Blu-Ray drives specially fitted now. Google Blu Ray Drives PC

  • @Mathidal is know you have to buy a blue ray drive to your PC to read blue ray dics..

  • I tried this and it doesn't work because the DVD's are copy protected. You cannot take the movie from the disc using this method.

  • Yah, you have to get yet another prgram to rip the DVDs.

  • @Basilisk4119 You can, though its legal standing is somewhat dubious.

  • @Basilisk4119 It depends what kind of DVD your using. If you use like a Maxell DVD + then it should work.

  • @Dan93Productions Hey people he is doing us a BIG favor. Imagine if no onw shared ideas and keept them by themselves we will all have a missing gap to discover. This is a great video and I hope you keep up the good work, because all of us have something interesting to shear, but some are afraid to share. I mean come on grow up THEY don't call us UNITED WE STAND for nothing we have a purpose. Thanks great video.

  • @AlienTheFallen2 Thank you :)

  • R u stupid!

  • Create a folder in the root of the USB stick called VIDEO, then you can just click X to open it, instead of triangle then show all

  • where do you download the program?

in the pc or in the ps3 , if is in the pc how u convert the blue ray,, if the pc dont read blue ray

  • youre all idiots 1TB is 1024GB. LOL.

  • it pisses me off when people miss the 24

  • same here

  • You should be happy. Clearly it makes you feel better knowing something trivial that someone else doesn't know. If something that stupid pisses you off you need to find something better to do with you life.

  • because your hard...

  • thanks man

  • is the movie on the hdd hd after i put it on the ps3?

  • will this work for games?

  • You can stream hd movies from your computer right to your ps3 and it will convert it while you watch if necessary. very easy ui

  • Hi how do i check if my external HDD is type FAT 32?

  • 1TB is 1024GB noob.

    Learn before calling others noobs.

  • i was gonna reply saying that lol

  • @Dan93Productions no its not 1tb is like 980gbs cause wen u buy a hardrive u never get wat it is

    alwas abit less

  • I meant to put (1000GB), Just a typing mistake. And just incase you think I don't know about it I have more then 200 films on my External Hard Drive and 600 songs, and of course they wouldn't fit on a 100GB Hard Drive would they? Besides, do you know me... I mean you can call me a "noob" and all the rest of it. But you don't know me to judge me, grow up... Pathetic little child.

  • ok , 1024 gb . 200 movies at 700mb each . 200x7 = 1400gb . LIAR YOU CANT PUT 1400GB ON A 1034GB HDD AND 600 SONGS. NOOOOOB

  • Your calling me a liar when I know what I have of my 1TB hard drive, add me on msn and I will send you print screens on what I have on MY external hard drive. FOOL.

  • send me a pm of your msn then

  • I have.

  • Did you get it or not? I live in the UK and it's almost 1 in the morning over here which you'll know if you live here, add me quickly because i'm going to bed soon...

  • ive not got it , im from uk too

  • Someone got OWNED. lol Good job Jams.

  • yay!

  • First off when you call someone a noob get your sh*t straight. A gb and a GB are different the first being a gigabit and the latter being a gigabyte. Same goes for mb and MB. Incase you done understand there are 8 bits in a byte. So those are two totally different things. Also your math is way off and so is your concept. 200x700MB(assuming avi or xvid) = 140,000MB divided by 1024MB =~136.72 GB.

  • As for your misconstrued concept. You don't get to use all 1024GB only 931.32 because hard drive manufacturers consider a GB 953.68 MB or 1,000,000,000 bytes as opposed to what computer considers a GB to be 1,073,741,824 bytes

  • @Jam3s5691 : well jammie, 700mb is approx 0.7gb, not 7 gb as u used in ur calculations, so 200x0.7 = 140gb not 1400 gb.

just wanted to correct u. no offense meant. it was a simple mistake on ur part. can happen to any1.

    cheers.

  • @Myersfanatic dumbass...

  • where is the video wizard thing? i cant find it

    :(

  • OMG thanks it really worked i tried it and it worked

  • Buu

  • Pretty obvious lol... No it is better to do this mrslackhacker b/c movies don't take up much space, especially if you were smart enough to take out your rediculously small 40g or 80g HD for somthing larger like a 360gb HD. I did this a while back and it is much easier than lugging around dvds and risking badly scratching them =P

  • it's elementary my dear watson

  • why not just put the dvd in the ps3 and enjoy your upscaled movie? your hard drive should be kept for your downloaded games from ps3store... do things the easy way ........now thats smart ffs

  • I disagree. Im constantly moving my PS3 from my house to my friends, and especially for Lan parties. Plus you can upgrade your HDD and it violates no license agreement, sony will even walk you through it. I now have a 500gb HDD in my PS3 and im constantly downloading movies and games to my PS3. Part of your logic doesn't make sense either; saying that your hard drive should be used for downloading games from the store only contradicts the reasoning behind the PSN Movie store, which is in HD too.

  • I have a 80gb ps3 console, and i have loads of movies on my external hard drive which is 1TB (100GB). Because I have all of these movies they wont all fit on my 80gb console, so how do I get a 500gb hdd in my ps3 and how much are they?

  • theres one in amazon for $90 its a 500GB

  • u idiot 1TB is 1000GB not 100GB rofl

  • I know i corrected myself... I have a 1TB External Hard Drive. Iv'e already put Jam3s5691 to shame when he tried to tell me and he'll admitt it.

  • @coolillboi fuck you it is 1000 gb

  • u idiot 1TB is 1024GB not 1000GB rofl

type in google: 1 TB to GB

  • zzzzz, your so sad rofl at that get a life geek

  • zzzzz go suck your uncles dick mr pro who supposedly has a life and isn't a geek

I study IT, I'm a student at microsoft, I just happen to know this.

Only my attitude was the same as the poster to make him realize his stupid.

but hey, go ahead, reply back at me hating and dissing on me because your mr pro and have a life :) come on now

  • @coolillboi it's 1024GB

  • @dobermanche i rounded up u dumb noob

  • @coolillboi I was just saying and you started cursing you motherfucker

  • @coolillboi

Ok, who looks like the idiot now; its 1024GB in single TB. (:

  • Comment removed

  • @Ryandi24 No, you are talking about Tebibytes. A Terabyte is 1000 Gb. Noob.

  • @coolillboi well technically, 1026gb

  • @coolillboi I think your an idiot too. 1TB is 1024gb's not 1000gb's

  • @matajesus4 Nope, I have a 1TB hard disk for my computer and it says 931GB

  • @Krurnosai Ok but technically its 1024gb. The "missing" memory is being used, therfore giving you 931gb of free space to use. A 1TB is still 1024gb.

  • @coolillboi Yep, I have a 1TB hard disk for my computer and it says 931GB

  • @coolillboi no mate, its 1024GB actually.

  • does this harm your ps3

  • If you do like there is told you cant harm your ps3.

  • thanks man too bad im still in negatives lol some people are just dumbasses its not that hard to put movies on a ps3

  • or! you could take the movie that you have put it in your ps3 go to it click triangle and press copy! omfg thats hard jeez come on people i have metalocalypse season 1+2 and the move 300 and batman the dark night movie on mine just by doing that its not that complicated

  • how...?? it dosent say copy when you press triangle ...

  • your right you can't do that haha

  • some(most) movies are copyright protected and you have no option to copy them....all i do is download something on my computer and then use media share and copy onto my ps3 thats the easiest way no flash drive or disc ...but quality goes down after converting

  • could you be banned for doing this?

  • no as long as you own the dvds

  • By remuxing the file with a tool called mkv2vob and splitting the file into 3 parts or you could use PS3 Media Server and it will stream anything to your PS3, and remux it while you watch, it a very helpful, I would go with the latter cause its just so much easier.

  • Movies take up about 700mb and bluRay over 4gigs so I got me an 1tb external HDD its works great it was cheap $115 and I have about 80 dvds and 15 bluray movies on it (some of the dvds or like wrestlemania 1-25 so they take up more space then most) and I still have over 450gigs of space to fill :<)

  • if you are saving files over 4GB, im assuming your HDD is NTFS formatted. how did u get the ps3 to recognise NTFS file system?

  • By remuxing the file with a tool called mkv2vob, it remux the file, and splits it into at least 3 parts so it can be moved, also there is the PS3 Media Player, it streams anything to your PS3, and remux it if need be while you watch, its very fast, and easy to use, I use the media player cause I can leave my external plugged into my lab top and stream from any folder from there

  • ah ok that clears it up. yeah i use mkv2vob myself, great tool.

  • How do you rip the dvd to your computer hard drive?

  • u could use a program called dvd4free put in dvd go to drive its in right click on it click explore copy the TS files in side to ur cpu

  • but how do you put bluerays on your HDD ?

  • ohhhhh /\ is triangle...

  • so i can view movies on my ps3 without the dvd? or is the flash drive gonna be my "dvd"

  • dont be stupid, you then save what ever you have on your ubs flashdrive to the ps3's HDD

  • I use media server. Its a great feature for me because I have a laptop in the same room as my PS3. Instead of copying the movie on the ps3 taking up hard drive space, I play it from my laptop on my ps3, on my television

  • How do you connect the laptop tou your ps3??

  • Make sure u have a router then make sure network discovery is turned on, note* if it says custom then it is off, you could use the windows media server, but Id go with Ps3 media sever just google it, its completely free and very good, setup is very easy, you can use that to stream video to ur ps3, dvds, and bluRay

  • i got 325 movies on my ps3

  • umm, how do you have that much space? You got a 500gb hard drive?

  • novies only take up about 700mb. also you can get really big hard drives for a ps3

  • i only have the 40 so i have like 15 movies that i can hold,lol

  • well go out buy a 320gb Sata 2.5 gb hdd

there are no other names just get THAT and well plenty of vids on how to replace your hdd...

  • Use Format Factory on the PC.

Its the best and surprisingly its FREE.

Most other software has too many bugs.

  • My memory stick wouldn't have enough space for a full movie. I would have to drastically reduce the resolution or split it into several parts.

  • I would suggest to use a program called hfs. Its a free ftp program. Just drag and drop the movie into hfs and go to the ip of your computer on the ps3, and save it from there. :D really easy

  • not really.some movies are only 2g.and i have seen memory sticks up to 32g.but of course longer the movie the more room it needs.

  • would you not just convert it to dvix instead?:S

  • Can anyone please tell me what video file formats the ps3 can play, impeticular AVI & MP4???????

  • I know most MP4 files work. (I say most because a select few aren't recognized) AVI is not supported. WMV can only work if you have an internet connection. I think DivX is supposed to work too.(Never tried it but the PS3 is DivX certified.)

  • I had a feeling AVI's weren't supported but I am having trouble with MP4'S downloaded through Limewire.... When I drag-n-drop em to a usb stick they wont play & I cannot import them to my ps3 either?????

  • avi works now if ur update to ur ps3 is most current

  • ill give it a try.

  • can you dowload a blueray dvd and copy that to a memory stick and still play it in full 1080p?

  • yeah sure, if you have a 50 gig memory stick that is!?^o)

  • 50 gigs, but if the blueray doesnt go over 20 gigs. (or there are some bigger then that)?????

  • yeah well dual layered ones, sorry wasnt thinkin in terms of movies... but sure thats still 25 gigs

oh btw to answer you q you can of course hypothetically play it using this solution off a memory stick, theres no reason i see that would stop that working, its the same as a hdd as far a the playstations concerned when reading music. (btw i'd call it a portable hdd cus memory stick is a lil confusen.. theres no chance of you finding a 20-odd gb memory stick lets be honest) lol

  • look up DvD43 it get you through all the copyright protection on those pesky dvds makes copying very easy

  • Copying DVDs is like the easiest thing, with or without protection, you just need to have the right program. Also there are a lot of freeware applications that will do it for you. As for burning, you DON'T need something as expensive and complicated as Nero, you can find hundreds of freeware applications that will burn it for you. It's not hard at all, the movie companies just want you to think it is, to tell you the truth it's one of the easiest things you can do with computers in my opinion.

  • You put a DVD into your computer, than get the program to copy it to your computer's hard drive than you insert your flash drive and copy the movie from your computer into the flash drive, than insert the flash drive into your PS3 and copy the movie from the flash drive onto the PS3 hard drive. It makes sense, how can he be lying?

  • can you do that with games

  • You really think that Sony would make your life that easy?

  • lol

  • Is there a way other than a memory stick or external hdd to get the file onto the ps3?

  • yeah if you have your ps3 networked with your pc you can just copy that way alot easier two Ive been ripping dvds and copying them to my pc and ps3 for awhile now trust me it real easy

  • Do you use one of those media server programs?

  • wait so your saying if i rent a dvd put it in my dvd drive do this converter

    put it on flashdrive

take it to ps3, it will save?

  • Errr...that was the point of the video, so... yeah

  • thanks, worked 1st time

    5-*****

  • lieing about what? having dvds on my ps3?

  • can u watch dvds on ps3 and blu-ray discs

  • yes i have bowt 13 dvds saved on my HDD

  • Well... that's what the title says...

  • this vid would be better if you showed us a real video on how to do it than a slid show

  • is it still the HD quality....

  • I would say that maybe the quality might be slightly lower since you are doing a fair amount of copying and pasting to the video file, but in theory it should be the same.

  • why would you need a memory stick when you can just set media sharing in wondows media player and copy them over via wireless or cable

  • Can't you just download it form the internet? It'll be legal if you do cuz you already have a 100% paid for hard copy. You're just getting a digital copy for PERSONAL use.

  • im sorry but this is a load of shitu cannot put a dvd into your computer and copy it onto your computer it asks for a file and a dvd is a folder its a load of bollocks

  • if u put a blu ray on it will it still be in hd? oh and is it illegal to rent a dvd/blue ray and put it on your ps3? (im assuming it is but u no if it isnt then i'll be well pleased!
