  • This Shows The Peace Inside Our Hearts.

  • Not even the trolls can honestly dislike something like this.

  • translate the title please!

  • @Dante2009100

    Tsubasa - wings

    kudasai - please

wo - it links words in a number of ways i don't know. dont speak japanese really sorry

    it means

    "Please Give Me Wings"

  • And a god was born that day

  • Evangelion's like my brother, he grew up with me, he taught me to give my best, to fight for the people i love, to make the world a best place for everyone, to not do the same mistakes like my fathers and to love and protect all every life forms in this planet, to make me a better human... thanks for everything Evangelion

  • omg....no dislikes...

  • @TheMXL94 Someone would eventually hit the dislike button, but i'm sure that whoever that is doesn't really dislike this, or likes this deep down his/her heart. He/she would hit the dislike button just to troll on the 'x people blah blah blah' or maybe post that himself :)

  • Very nice!

  • This song was popular in Japan in the 1970s. The choice of this song in Evangelion was like an American production choosing Piano Man at an inappropriate moment in a movie.

  • This will be played at my funeral!

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

    llorare :´(

  • ima watashi no negaigoto ga kanau naraba tsubasa ga hoshii kono senaka ni tori no you ni shiroi tsubasa tsukete kudasai kono oozora ni tsubasa wo hiroge tonde yukitai yo kanashimi no nai jiyuu na sora e tsubasa hatamekase yukitai kodomo no toki yume mita koto ima mo onaji yume ni miteiru
  • This is the best song in all Evangelion, like it if you agree)

  • @Kimel915 Oh Come Sweet Death is better

  • Anyone else who watched K-ON! realize that this was the song they played in the first episode when they were trying to recruit Yui? That kinda caught me off guard to say the least =p

  • @KasunK18 Actually, this is a pretty old song, and has been covered many times. It just so happens they decided to include this in Evangelion 2.0 as well. Suits the scene though ;)

  • @LanFeaR86 is it really? huh, well I'm new to anime and japanese music in general so I wouldnt know =p

  • @KasunK18 Yeah, I wasn't aware of it either at first. Then I found some other cover of this song (I've heard the K-On version too), was a bit surprised by it, and just started Googling for more info :)

  • Dear lord this song is beautiful.

  • Do you know who sings this song? i love it so much.

  • @Drkenshin2099

    She name is Megumi Hayashibara.

    She is a voice actor.

    She is a Rei Ayanami.

    sorry I can't speak English.

  • I love every Evangelion Soundtrack, especially from 2.0, there are many nice Soundtrack.. :)

  • This song seems not to be composed by Shiro Sagisu. I watched and old anime called "Beck" and it featured this song in one episode. So it seems that this is just a cover of that song.

  • i like it thanks am doing some paper work and the songs come great

  • it's so beautiful.

  • i'm a guy,is it weird for me to cry while listening to this song as i remember the scene in the movie?? :(

  • @BnAprojecT no, not at all.

  • If I can get one wish To come true right now, I want a pair of wings Please grant me white wings On my back like a bird In this huge sky I wanna Spread my wings and fly Towards the free sky without any sadness I wanna flap my wings And go I still dream of those things That I've dreamed about when I was little.
  • AYANAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • The singer is Megumi HAYASHIBARA, voice actor of Rei AYANAMI.

  • the perfect timing of this song on the 2 scenes gives chills,

...reminds me of the climax of metropolis

  • ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • Out of this, Nichijou's, and K-On's version of this, this is my favourite fo sho. The other two are tied, both pretty good in their own ways. But this one just hits a heart string in me.

  • This is from God's Ipod

  • such happy music to begin the end of the world...wait

  • So beautifull

  • Why the amateurish singing and at some parts playing? Is that intentional? Musically speaking even k-on girls sang this better. Still, I love this song. Especially this arrangement, I only wish it was better sung.

  • @msourada

It was sung by 8 year old kids. It was intentional.

  • @msourada It's done on purpose to get...well, pretty much exactly the same reaction as most of the comments here.

  • Ayanami-------------!!!!!!

  • ............................*sniff* I remembered this part, it was like the most greatest and romantic moment i've ever seen from Neon Genesis Evangelion bc when Rei and Shinji were together when he pull her out I almost cried literally *SNIFF*...beautiful 8*) simply beautiful <'333

  • I just want a song to drink too!

  • Thumbs up if you wished to be an EVA pilot

  • @Hetaliafan21

lolz. I can't say that I understood NGE (watched all there is to this at least once), but I can say that this comment proves that there's still 6 people on this planet who understood nothing at all o.O

  • @Hetaliafan21 It's like you're saying 'thumbs up if you want to go through unbelievable amounts of pain and most likely end up depressed and insane."

    Rebuild fans, fucking hell.

  • @RangerD12 Asuka was the depressed and insane one. Shinji turned insane when he was saving Rei in the Rebuild

  • @Andiodnumber12345 but he was depressed, and rei just lacked any form of emotion

  • @Hetaliafan21 Aida?

Man, it looks spectacular at first.. then you realize that the sadists at NERV make it so that you have symbiosis with the EVA, which means that you feel EVERYTHING that IT feels. And that's in addition to giving you guns that don't work.

Then you remember the scene from End of Evangelion, where EVA-02 was eviscerated by mass-production EVAs, and then proceed to vomit when you realized that Asuka has a high sync ratio with Unit 2 typically, and that battle was no exception.

  • @Hetaliafan21 oh yes I wish to be brutally mind raped!

  • The beauty of this song is that it serves two purposes. One is to reflect Shinji's emotional triumph and make you cheer him on. The other is to serve as a juxtaposition to the end of the world.

  • the best song 4 the end of the world

  • Fuck the world!!! I'm saving Ayanami!!!

  • The ending of Eva 2.0 made me cry--and still does--and this song is partly why. Eva has some of the most emotional music tracks...

  • Zeruel disliked this

  • The world is ending...

    ...and its all so beautiful.

  • @ncala Indeed. I almost cried when I first saw it. It's powerful, emotional and chilling. I'm amazed this "remake" got me at such an emotional level. Something I never though the series could do again.

  • Whenever this plays, the fact that it doesn't suit the scene at all, makes it fit.

  • @RyuShoji It does fit the scene, though. Shinji, the boy with daddy issues and a problem with disappearing self, grabbed hold of another person(Lilith clone) for no other reason to be close to her. His resolve was so pure that a being which equated to a god chained to the will of mankind went out of its way to grant his wish. In typical Sadamoto style, there are heavy psychological and spiritual undertones. Shinji became god by uniting his personality with its polar opposite. Give me wings works

  • this song along with the movie were excellent... specially the end...

  • 'This' is the way the world ends; with an uplifting children's song.

  • Truly music to end the world to.

  • I was really tired after coming back from college and stuck in the traffic jam for almost 2 hours, I almost teared up when I heard this song on my PC, it never happened to me before when I listened to it casually, maybe it only works when you're really mentally tired and just feel like sleeping on your bed for the rest of the day. At least for me.

  • Rei seems different somehow in the movies compared to the series, can't put my finger on it.

  • @TheGrenadier66 She's less withdrawn and more willing to understand herself and those around her.

  • @jammo2000 I guess that would be it, but at the same time she's still so quiet and disconnected, truly a deep character

  • this is such an amazing song

  • Ok when did Shinji become badass?! Am I the only one who noticed the emo lad from Evangelion pull off some major shit to save Rei?

  • @TealDaubs

That is the power of a happier Hideki Anno, mein freud.

  • 0 dislikes. Hell yeah.

  • @TheBCExperience1 You always dream of days where that happens.

  • my brothers always tell me how stupid this anime is, and all i tell them is: You have no taste in entertainment."

  • @OperationLongDive Lol He just scare Shinji

  • @OperationLongDive Well what do your brothers tell you a "Good" anime series is? Dragonball z? PFFT! I agree with your asessment

  • @OperationLongDive but you are a faggot anyway for likin evangelion

  • ;_;

    ...Beautiful.

  • I love Rei Ayanami !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @art4424

I am not sure if I do anymore...

  • i love this song!

  • Oh, this made my muscles weak...

  • ermosa simplemente

  • Pedobear finds this video very easy to jerk off too...

  • "GIVE ME BACK ...AYANAMI"

  • Possibly the most situationaly inapropriate song usage in history and I LOVE IT!

  • AYANAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whoa..not only is the name similar, but the song matches the K-ON! version. Nice!

  • Drum - Tainaka Ritsu

    Bass - Akiyama Mio

    Keyboard - Kotobuki Tsumugi

    Vocal - Megumi Hayashibara

  • Zuruel get fucked...

  • awakeing eva test type 1....

  • this is wats up

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Man the ending to this movie gave me CHILLS. To see such an innocent, childlike song play during such a tremendous event. It feels like Komm Susser Todd, only a LOT more hopeful.

  • @atomofish I hope so, since Komm Susser Todd's lyrics was about how Shinji's failed in both helping Asuka and realizing how much she meant to him, and now because he failed to save her he's now basically going to commit suicide.

  • @atomofish

(Pardon the grammar but I am Italian)

I swear I thought the same thing the same. With "Come Sweet Death" is very sad it feels depressing and devoid of hope. This rather similar although I think the opposite, as if there was a hope ... is more positive. And I like that, I can almost feel the emotions of Hideaki. In any case, only certain emotions evangelion me, I look forward to the Q

  • @atomofish its not the end, thers a third!!

  • @atomofish I think this song gets EXACTLY same meaning to Komm Susser Tod

    I know Japanese.

    When the melody get grand,

    the sentence singing is that

"Let's spread your wings in the Great Grand Sky. Fly and go ahead. The sky without misery or sorrow, The sky of FREEDOM. Flap your wings and go ahead."

It seems like DEATH (Spread the wings and go to heaven with happiness, freedom.), just like Komm susser Tod.

  • This song remembers me all of the childish things we miss today. To jump in puddles, to make people smile just by smilling, to know nothing about the sadness of this world, yet go forth to unfold this worlds misteries. And of course, perhaps mainly, to hug and kiss somebody just for the fun of doing it.

  • @xXTyroneBiggumsXx

    Shut the hell up.

  • @xXTyroneBiggumsXx You be a hater. Where'd the love go?

  • @Josmungard Better start doing them before this song starts playing and Third Impact happens :|

  • @Josmungard you know what...embarassing remarks are not allowed. this reminds me for epicness and shinji becoming a man not all that sugar coated stuff..

  • @Josmungard That made me cry.

  • Most children in Japan can sing this song.

  • I started to step into Hideaki Anno's heart maybe i am sufferng from something righ now you have suffered before, i always cry when i listen to this song, after i encounter the Komm Susser Todd originally.

  • epic, beautiful sadness :)

  • Epic song

  • GRASIAS POR LA MARABILLOSA CANSION QUE HA GONMIBIDO GRASIAS

  • @DarckWizarck Aprende A Escribir F7U12 !!

  • i think i recall this song fron K-On EP 1 lol
