  • Moe's Triple Slap-Down on Larry CANNOT be riveled ! AND his indignation at being called a "porter"...lol. As if a Stooge is above that !...lol. Great clip !

  • Whats great about this clip is that Moe is actually happy and jaunty flippin' milk to Larry til he gets wind of Curly horn-doggin' the girl...!

  • @HelpfulLawrence What the hell is a Dinosaur Holocaust?

  • @kplord Google it.

  • @HelpfulLawrence Tried and uh.... no thank you.

  • A classic Stooge clip, made even funnier by the triple-slap of poor Larry!

  • he slapped the dog mess out of him! classic. PAPPY!

  • LMFAO OMGGGG just because it's larry he slapped makes it all the more funnier.

  • Some of the funniest Stooges bits were Moe's malice-laden lines as he slapped Larry throughout the series, this one being an all time classic! Also worth mentioning are all the amazing hair-pulls and head-pushes that Larry received at Moe's abusive hands. :)

  • That is so funny!

  • Just listened to Adam Carolla on Bill Simmons' podcast discuss how Buster Douglas doubled up on his punches in the Tyson fight...now I see Moe TRIPLE UP on his slaps! Nice work pointing this one out.

  • I'm surprised that no one noticed Ms. McIntyre and Curly in the same skit to be very rare. She came on board the same year Shemp did.

  • @str8carter Micro-Phonies, The Three Troubledoers, Three Little Pirates, Where three more movies that had Curly and Christine together.

  • I'd like somebody to try the joke at 0:24 nowadays.

  • Moe was clearly upset with Larry's racism.

  • LOL Porter... Love the Al Jolsen Mamie bit. To hysterical =0

  • What is the name of this episode and from what year? I have all volumes except for 8.

  • @andynovak I'm not exactly sure what year, but I can tell you it's on Volume 4. I own it. lol I didn't intend to get 8, but one of my favorite Shemp shorts aren't on 6 or 7 so I may have to put up with Joe Bessar in the end. lOl

  • @andynovak This is Three Pests In a Mess from 1945.

  • @andynovak the year was 1945 and the short is called "Three Pests in a Mess"

  • @andynovak Its titled three pests in a mess.

  • @andynovak episode is "3 Pests in a Mess" (or "Nest") think it was '45 but I could be wrong on that...

  • "Mammy"... "Pappy" slap..slap..slap...hahaha... I have all the episodes on dvd & I still can't get enough of the boys.

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LOL! Curly's in trouble while Larry laughs hysterically at Moe's inked face!

  • Mammy!.....Pappy! WHAP! WHAP! WHAP!....Moe...that guy was a slappin' fool!

  • hahaha MAMMY!!!

  • priceless and timeless

  • I just recently watched this episode and it's extremely hilarious. lOl You all have to get those Three Stooges Collections DVDS. There are 7 volumes of this now.

  • Moe's one violent dude. Very nasty 3 slaps to the face, plus getting ink on your face, Larry got a double whammy on that one.

  • lol...SLAP SLAP SLAP!

  • Man, the things they did for our enjoyment = Priceless.

  • lmao

  • I am not offended.

  • As long as you can see the funny in this that's all the matters.

  • hahaha, when i heard the lady's first two "Oh! OH!!!"s i though't something else was going on behind that door ;) then i died laughing when i heard curly's woo woo woo

  • Yeah, that does come off kind crazy after hearing a bit. lOl

  • Man, to hell with what people may say or think. I just read all the comments posted on this clip and I say f... em. This is damn funny and the black face joke don't mean sh.. I don't see why anybody would get offended by that and weren't there black guys on the stooges acts as well? Big deal I'm lmao right now!!!!

  • Yeah, there were. It was a completely different time back then. The black actors in the shorts were mostly cast in servant roles, but they always found a way to steal the scene somehow.

  • Yes that paint brushing Moe put on Larry is classic but the black face joke part of it is a little touchy. I'm a black dude and I don't go along with discrimination but dammit this is hilarious baby!!!!

  • It was definitely a time before ours. I don't do discrimination of any kind either, but funny is funny no matter how you look at it with this one.

  • Why you talkin discrimination fool, just because he got some ink on his face

  • what's that episode called when Curly was dancing with Moe and he got his head stuck in a fish bowl?

  • I can't remember. I'm trying to buy all the stooge volumes myself. If I come across it I'll let you know.

  • Shemp was the only one that had anything to do with boxing that I know of. It was Shemp's favorite sport. I also read most of the Stooges had had calluses from being slapped so often. Ouch! Thanks for the clip.

  • 0:31 "Get away from here!" lol

  • 0.26 LOL! Larry rules!

  • What is the idea quarter Larry Haha Haha Haha Haha Manny 0:26 Pappy

  • He says ''Whats the idea porter''Most porters in those days were black men.

  • @Taychiwowa mammy, not manny

  • Comment removed

  • funny as hell !!! Larry rulz

  • when they rerun this episode, they now totally edit this scene on some stations, larry starts laughing and they cut to themselves wiping off the ink, political correctness run amok..

  • Larry's laugh is a Riot!!!

  • Larry was a boxer earlier in his life so he knew how to take a punch.

  • Mammy Pappy What do you mean Porter

  • lmao

  • Larry's laugh makes me laugh.

  • LMFAO he slapped the fuck outta him

  • when i was a kid in the early 90's they had a stooge marathon on like tbs that i recorded and this was one of the episodes. i pissed myself laughing

  • hahahahhaahha

  • Lady: OH OH GET OUT HERE!!!! GET OUT!!

    Curly: NO!!! NO!!

Moe: Why that wolf stand a side

  • Larry: Whats the idea porter? Hahahaha Mammy.

Moe: Pappy GET AWAY FROM HERE what do you porter.

  • MAMMY!!! Larry is hilarious!

  • wait was the joke when larry said "What's the idea porter"? Is porter the black joke?

  • Yeah it was. That's all the jobs we could get at the time.

  • I love The Three stooges they make me laugh alot. Curly is my favorite he is so funny. :)

  • same here i tell ya you got taste

  • when it comes to slapstick, Curly is a god

  • I still have a hard time choosing between Curly and Shemp.

  • Aww lighten up everyone! Just enjoy them for what they were ...and times they were living in! Personally... I think they were light years funnier than the Marx Bros, and anyone else before or since. But maybe I'm just a wise guy nuck nuck .... why I orta!

  • Larry KNOWS better than to f**k with Moe. I would've helped Moe clean that stuff off his face than laugh at him!! I could understand why Larry got hit half the time!!

  • For a long time I never really understood what Larry's purpose was, but I figured it out when I got older. He's the one that receives the worst punishments for the stupid stuff he does. If you watch the shorts really well you can see what I mean. Larry always does or says something dumb and always pays for it far worse than Curly or Shemp put together.

  • Agreed....Larry takes shots to the face on this one. Good stuff!

  • tough to agree, shemp got slapped around quite a bit as well, and it was so funny with his hair always hanging over into his face after he was slapped around..

  • This clip shows how racism existed everywhere in the 30's, even in comedy.

  • "This clip shows how racism existed everywhere in the 30's, even in comedy"

Ya know that was something I thought about when I watched this vid. But then I thought about how far this country has come on that issue. In some cases like the 3 stooges it wasn't so much a matter of racism as it was accepted as the norm. As I understand from research, all 3 of the stooges were great friends with the black actors in that comedy series. Curly and the porter in "hold that lion" were best friends.

  • Man. You really learn something everyday. Nice add, man.

  • I was not pointing out the Stooges in particular but noting the racism that was excepted at that time. Yes, we have come a long way, stuff like this still exist today in a different way.

  • There's nothing racist in the clip. Larry's "Mammy!" comment (and pose) was merely a reference to a famous scene in the movie "The Jazz Singer," in which the line is uttered by Al Jolson in black face. Now, whether or not "The Jazz Singer" was somehow racist is a separate discussion, but there is no way to view this Stooges clip as racist if it is taken in the correct context.

  • The "porter" comment as well is free from racism, since it is true that porters in hotels in big cities during that time were more often than not black. Reading any more into it than that is just another attempt to manufacture racism when in reality nobody really cares about so-called "race."

  • Well yeah you're right. It all depends on how you look at it and how sensitive you can. Personally I think if it's funny it's just funny.

  • @invisaman it's only racism if you intend it to be.

  • It always has me in tears and I don't find it offensive. It was in the 40s. You got to know what kind of time it was back then. It would be different if they just dropped the "N-Bomb" just for kicks.

  • @sweetcharlie63 If only black comedies weren't so racist white people these days. Don't denied it.

  • when i die i wanna meet the 3 stooges and hang with them for 1000 years dont u

  • Not a bad way to spend eternity if you as me. lOl

  • hello, click my name and u can watch alot of stooge shorts all in one place, Enjoy

  • Mammi, Pappi and three consecutive slaps, great stuff.

  • OMG Funniest Clip Ever!!!! Thanks For Posting

  • Thanks for watching. Nothing better than a good laugh.

  • When I die and go to heaven, the first 3 people I want to see are the 3 stooges

  • Larry: "What's the idea PORTER? MAMMY!" (I'm black and it doesn't bother me. Funny as hell.)

  • Good observation, bro.

  • *LOL. That was hilarious!!!!!! ^_^*

  • That's my absolute favorite Stooge clip. lOl

  • yes, the politically correct far left kooks crowd would have a seizure over this one just because of that one line. I am really surprised YouTube can air it without a lawsuit. If that was made today, the director and a few others involved would be doing some serious hate crime time in the slammer. Sad isn't it that many of us have become so thin skinned we can't take a joke. I love the Stooges, but I guess I am old school.

  • Well at the time that stuff could slide, but we all know it wouldn't slide by today's standards. I'm not saying how they used be was fair, but some thing just have to be let go. I'm black and I still thing 3 Stooges are the best since sliced bread. lol

  • Hi kplord...

The stooges make fun of a lot of people. I am white, and I sure would not care if someone made fun of me being white. You are right....the stooges were from a different time. I watch a lot of stooges. They made fun of the handicapped, Japanese, and about everyone. I just let it slide because I know it was from a different time. I am not saying that it would be right now, just that one has to take into consideration that these were made 60-70 years ago.

  • yeah the stooges made fun of everyone and everything. that's why they're so cool. their humor is irreverent yet clean. i interpret this joke as a stab at racism and not the actual race. that might be stupid of me for thinking that, but that's just my twisted logic.

  • Well, considering the Three Stooges themselves were liberal Democrats and were among the first to use black actors in their shorts, and having been discriminated themselves at points because they were Jews...

I'd say it evens out... And I'm a far lefitst, lol. I got no problem with this.

  • Well said, bro.

  • Hey guys what is this episode called?

  • "Three Pests In A Mess". They don't show that episode much anymore. It's best to just get the Stooge Volumes.

  • yeah i'm amazed the stooges became as successful as they did simply because they were jews. prejudice was more tolerated back then than it is today and its safe to say that they got more than their fair share of ravenous bigotry.

  • who cares they were funny as hell who cares if they re jewa

  • that was my point, mate.

  • i love the stooges LOL I have quite a few of their shorts on dvd & VHS ^_^

  • larry got owned lmao

  • I love this episode just for this bit! :) I watch this every other day and die laughing

  • hahahahahahaha mammy ....pappy hahahahahahaaha

  • haha, Moe sounds funny when he's smacking larry...."Get away from here"

  • I agree.

  • hahhaa!!

  • Yeah, I know.

  • wow...triple smack...thats really cool that it looks so real, but they said most if not all their stuff didn't hurt!

but I just got the meaning about it being banned and all...but that was the way at the time. forgive em.

  • They will always be funny for probably another 60 years.

  • I hope longer lol

  • Haha, I don't think Larry was expecting that either!

  • hahaqhahah

  • 3 slaps; that musta really hurt it sounded painful

  • Nah, the slaps weren't real. They were real hits, but the sound was fake. There's an SFX booth they had back then and they used the sound of a whip crack for the slaps. /but since the hitting was real, Larry had calluses on the left side of his face in his elder years.

  • mammie pappie hahahaha

  • stooges were/are the best!!

  • LOL. That's hilarious! XD

I don't recall seeing this one before.

  • This is one of their episodes that are considered "Banned" so you would rarely see this on TV if at all. I think the "porter" crack in this clip is the reason.

  • Yeah...

Oh well, guess that's why we have DVD's and YouTube! Thanks for uploading this one, btw. :)

  • Man, never saw Moe do it three times in a row.

  • Thank you for the videoclip, I can see why this episode cannot be shown on television because the NAACP will raise a stink over racial insenstivity.

  • OMG!!!!! Really Funny!!!! Mami!!!!!LOL!!!

  • porter Is Just Another Term For Slave Man.The Old Black Face Gag. Think About The Welt From The Ink Bottle.

  • I can see why Moe really blew his stack when he slapped Larry.

  • I got teh mammy part but didn't understand the porter

  • At the time, most jobs black people had were porters. Especially in NY.

  • That is why Ted Danson got in trouble with Whoopi Goldberg for appearing in blackface some years ago in an awards show years back.

  • i didn't know about that Hmmm

  • There is a scene just before this where this woman was trying to snuggel up to Curly. She placed her hand on his head and said, "I'm going to ruffle your hair". She then rubs it and Curly has an orgasm. It's funny as hell.

  • OMG!!! Too funny! The Stooges RULE!!!

  • How totally politically incorrect! But I LOVE it!!!! Can you imagine the "porter" and "mammy" comments being said now? Why the streets would be filled with protestors. ;-) Yes, the stooges are GREAT with their comedy.

  • Comment removed

  • not bad

    casper

  • oh, forgot to say this. i'm a black man, so that's black casper. thanks. lol

  • how many slap's did larry get in a row?

  • LMAO. 3 nasty slaps. lol

  • LOVE the Stooges!

  • Do you have the Brideless Groom clip???

  • That's a great episode, too. I don't have it though.

  • tag: blackface (as one word)

  • umm...... ok. thanks.
