My uncle had me listening to Lizzy since i was 3, im now 22 and This song will always be in my top 3 favourite songs! In my opinion this is the best Lizzy song! Always makes me bloody happy when i listen to it!
It wasn't pushed by the label. I bought the 7" vinyl when it came out - but I had to order it. This was recorded when Moore worked with Lizzy Jan-Apr '74, after Eric Bell checked out in Jan 74. It had a reworking of 'Buffalo Gal' from 'Shades of a Blue Orphanage' as a B side.
I also had the treat of seeing Moore play with Lizzy at London's Roundhouse in early '73. I'd seen him before, with both Skid Row and his own trio, so I knew what to expect. He was rather good. RIP Gary.
And this was not a hit? I sometimes question rock radio. This song reeks of hit, of classic rock, of great musicianship. I probably will never know why. I am just glad I found it when I did. Despite Phil Lynott's great rock vocals -- the lead guitar sustaining notes on this gives me goosebumps. RIP Gary Moore -- you were a genius -- especially on this one. Damn, I smile and sweat just listening to it.
This kicks ass! Philo had such a great voice. You can hear the diversity from songs like this to "Try a Little Harder" to a hit song like "Cowboy Song." Sorry folks. he was the best rocker ever, problems all aside.
Great memories.......listening to Thin Lizzy brings back a time and era that was magic. I had forgotten about this song, but since Gary's passing I've been revisiting some old stuff and it's still great. Thin Lizzy will always one of Ireland's greatest exports.
Great song!! Never heard it before. It sounds so present, so up to date. Those guys really know what they were doing. Thin Lizzy is a FANTASTIC BAND!! Long live!
its more than a number one song.....its the best rock song ever..love lizzy since i was twelve....i speak to much..better hear this song..greetings to all lizzy lovers...andii
Bought this single when it was originally released. To this day, I remain utterly perplexed as to why this did not even make the charts. In my heart at least,a number one.Says it all in under three minutes. Oh...and that guitar solo....
I tried searching this song about 6 months ago but with no luck.. so glad a found it now... heard it first when i was 13 and i still love it to this day... what a song... means soo much much to me! if i ever get a gig i will play it at that gig for the memories... R.I.P phil! you were the man!!! love you!!!
Man, thanks so much! I think this would have been right at home on "Fighting" -- it would have been a good replacement for their cover of "Rosalie," which has never really spoken to me (heresy, I know....). It would have been a good fit on "Johnny the Fox," too.

I actually didn't get into Thin Lizzy until 1989(wait late, I know). But this song brings back memories of the time when I discovered this band.
