The real story was the shark took his catch and he went after it so he ended up in his mouth, grabbed the catch, and beat the shark up but the shark broke his nose because when he grabbed the eye it was dirty fighting. Long story short this is the ballziest man alive.

animals have defences for their weekness. a great white has covers which go over its eyes when opening its jaw. this defence is used to protect the sharks eyes when attacking.

so yeh attacking its eyes seems correct

The covers you refer to (nicitating membranes) are not present on lamniformes like the white shark. Tigers, blues and many others do have them, but GWs roll their eyes back for protection. The effect is similar, but the mechanism is different. Sorry, hate to nitpick.
