I like to keep the white off too. Because dirt under your nail shows fast. Also, if you clip the white down, it will be easier to clean your nails. You won't have to stick anything under your nail to scratch out dirt. You just wash your hands and the dirt comes right out.

Ive always used my built in fingernail clippers...my 4 front teeth. See the great thing about using your teeth is you can then use the clipping as a toothpick. Yeah and you don't even have to touch it, just use your tongue to shove the clipping in and out of your tooth cracks. Weeee!

I do bite nails. But I do it when I'm in the shower, and of course after I've washed and scrubbed away anything that might be underneath the nails. And quite frankly, when you take your time, you won't even see the difference.

But I mostly bite them because nail clippers tend to clip them too short.

And since I use my nails as tools in like a dozen of different situations, I'd rather have some dead white to spare. Unless I go to a party or something of course, then I just cut it all off.
