I've heard Asian countries ate cat and dog meat, but I haven't seen it personally. I'm pretty sure that Filipinos eat dog and Chinese eat cat (as in Tigers), while Japanese eat whales.

I personally don't see anything wrong with eating any animals meat unless it is endangered or its someone's pet. Do you know how many cats and dogs get "put down" at animal shelters? That could be used to feed a starving person.

@0adireita You are quite mistaken. Cows are pretty intelligent, go feed a calf you've raised from birth and say that little bugger doesn't care for you. Dogs only care about us because we have bred them to. Seriously, they have done the same thing with foxes and only 3 or 4 generations in from original wild foxes has already shown they look more like domesticated dogs and crave human attention rather than going into the wild.

In Canada you are allowed to sell dog meat, China, Taiwan, Ghana, Hawaii *used to*, and even France used to consume dog until recently in our history. If you are basing your love for dogs off of intelligence, you don't have trouble eating a pig... and a pig is smarter than a dog by a good margin. I love dogs, but I know there is no difference between my food and them except their ability to obey.

The first dogs weren't created just to pet... they were created as tools to help us out. That is what allowed us to put them in such high standard in our minds. They are obedient, and have valuable assets to help further our survival. A cow might not be able to do a dogs job, but there is no reason a dog can't do a cows job.

Yes, I do eat other meats then common ones(like chicken, pork,beff etc.) but I would never eat a cat or dog because I feel they are to loyal to eat. See where I'm going?
