  • Side door peice fell off at 3:03

  • 2:57 bin loses a side flap.

  • Loved this video! I just had the need to look at how a garbage truck works, and I had no idea that in addition to the rear loader there are all those other type of garbage truck. those asl ones are freaky skynet shit!

  • 3:02 Container gate failed!

  • @multimaghrabi What is Telogis?

  • you forgot about one-pass,i guess it's a fel but still different, what about lugger, current wm employee i hate it this video made me sick just seeing wm trucks dont know why i watched it.lol

  • @JTrepinski76 I have some newer video of a KANN Co-Collector on here somewhere. Can't remember if I included it in the newer 2nd version of this video. I've been looking for a lugger truck in my area, but they seem to be completely extinct... the only video I've seen of one on here was up in Canada... and I'm not going to drive that far. LOL

  • Real men drive one man commercial rear loaders. Lol! Too bad they're a dying breed.

  • @MrTommygatz I agree, there's definitely not many of them left.

  • them "new way's" are just McNeilis knock-offs

  • @monko1265 So I've heard, I've never run one though.

  • so schaut mich an bin ein frosch

  • @FletaRoxanets765 That doesn't even make sense? Translates as: "Sun looks at me am a frog"

  • The basket ball net got owned by the garbage truck!

  • @djcalzonn Yes it did. lol

  • WTF let me get that hoop :(

  • @hotpapilatino253 It's definitely too late to save it now. I don't remember it being in the best condition either.

  • the jaws of life at 4:32

  • @emir895 Thanks for stopping by.

  • Hehe, the door to the container..

  • @baasting Yep... the truck wins again.

  • Xxx.

  • @imagirlfriday Interesting comment... thanks, I think?

  • Great video I loved it. I remember as a little kid I used to go outside when I heard the truck and wait for the garbage truck to roll by each week. 30 plus years later when I hear the truck I am at least watching from the window. Those rear loaders are just mean. I don't think there is much that could stop that chomp !

  • @bassheadjohn It definitely takes some effort to stop a rear loader from eating. I had one struggle to break a very large piece of pressure treated lumber years ago.

  • lol the trash can door fell in the trash truck @ 3:00

  • @thepowerfulnews It sure did!

  • My almost 3 year old is obsessed with recycle and garbage trucks. Glad I found your video!

  • @DTomate Glad your 3yo is enjoying the video! Thanks for letting me know!

  • LOL Like taking garbage from a garbage can -_-

  • @CloudTheCat52 This is true.

  • 8:15 - 9:10 NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

  • @alex46215 LOL

  • i have to say, 8:30 was my favorite part

  • @wildpeppy Glad you enjoyed that!

  • nice video lol

  • @wrOnGwaYraP Thank you!

  • The door of the garbage truck waste container slide that get recycled as scrap metal.

  • @gertgertgert18 I think everything in that load was going to a transfer station and then to a landfill in Brevard County, FL.

  • @FormerWMDriver they sort stuff out at transfer stations, it probably did get scrapped

  • What is the truck at 7:27?

  • @GrootGuy Republic Services (operated under the AAA Trash brand name) Mack LE / Heil PowerTrak rear loader.

  • 3:02 the side door of the container is sent to trash !

  • @julienjjj Yep, it sure did!

  • @julienjjj Was just guna say that :D

  • How did I get here from Tom Sawyer (Rush)...? Lol

  • @SynikaI I think someone else mentioned that on here too - I agree that's VERY ODD! LOL I don't think I have any tags on this video that would cause them to link to each other as being related.

  • there is now a hybrid load truck now made by heil, my hometown has them. they are rear and automated side loader all in one truck

  • @ScarletandGrey4ever Yeah I've heard of those, I've never seen one in person, but it's called the Heil MultiPack. I think there's only a couple of videos of them on YouTube, if you get the chance you should film one, there's MANY people on here that would appreciate seeing it. I don't think they sold very well... so they are pretty rare.

  • wow... super amazing

  • @saimantya Thanks!

  • I mean't automatic side loaders :P

    How do they operate them?

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam Also, you can watch my video: "E-Z Pack ASL Walk-around and Demo 1-28-11" to see an entire automated side loader in detail. This show's one manufacturers design and these designs vary from builder to builder. That truck has the rocker switches to control the arm.

  • Sorry, don't know much about these trucks. Does the driver look at the hooks via mirror, looking out the door, or is there a camera to help them align the 'hooks' with the can?

  • @PhysicsTowerTeam Depends on the truck, on older trucks the driver will typically use the circular "blind spot" mirror to see where the claw / grabber is in relation to the cart (garbage can). New trucks have a camera mounted near the arm so the driver can clearly see where the claw is.

These trucks are typically operated with 1 of 3 types of control - 1. single joy stick with buttons, 2. multiple levers, or 3. multiple rocker switches.

  • @FormerWMDriver Thanks ;)

Always wanted to know that :P

  • 2:48 STEALTH TRUCK

  • why is this linekd to aPink Floys music video?

  • @pt9619 Now that's a good question for YouTube or Google. I definitely can't help you with that one.... LOL Very odd.

  • Check out the new "Garbage Truck" & "Recycling Truck" Apps for iPhone/iPad!

  • I find this video strangely fascinating. I had no idea there were so many different types.

  • @Covermeporkins11 A few years back I didn't know there were so many either, and it seems like they are always trying out new designs... so they are always changing.

  • my favourite part was when they destroyed the basketball hoop

  • @GuidoBoss666 Glad you enjoyed that!

  • was 9:40 the city of Rockledge?

  • @jman1948 You are correct.

  • my brother loves garbage trucks thanks

  • @stickmaster771 You are very welcome! Thanks for letting me know, glad he enjoys the video.

  • Watching this video has reminded me of how wasteful humans as a species are. This does not look good on our galactic resume! We humans truly are a curse on this planet. Great job!

  • @11Unlikeable11 This is true. I find it amazing that even when people are given an easy way to recycle some will still trash everything. The most disturbing thing I've seen in the garbage - full and unopened bottles of water. I know there are people in other countries that would literally kill each other for that water.... it's very sad that some people are wasteful to an extreme.

  • my 5 year old brother loves ur vids thank u

  • @curotto7451 You are very welcome! I'm glad he enjoys them!

  • Being a picker on a garbage truck is a hard thankless job... The pays bad and its dangerous. I did it for almost a year, then on the second winter of hanging on the back of the trucks here in canada i said fuck it.

  • @MrMooseheadbeer Yeah it takes a certain person to do that job. Many people don't stick around very long.

  • 4:12 I won''t waste my time to pick up small amount like that...

  • @TheHudzai Yeah most drivers leave the scraps behind, he was nice enough to rake up the remaining amount from the much larger pile that was originally there. So, no it's not like he stopped to pick up that tiny amount. LOL

  • HAHA! The side door on the dumpster at 3:01 FELL IN THE TRUCK!!!

  • @kkehoe5 Yep, it sure did!

  • This video is very helpful to me. Thank you! Now I can title, and label my truck videos more properly.I like when they compat the basketball hoop! Too cool. I got a video of a grease dump truck this morning, ( I do not know what the truck type is, it seems to be a special rear-loading grease dumper.)and when the guy got done dumping the dumpster, he peed on the back of his truck! Too funny! I bet I will never catch something like this again.

  • @KellyCureAll That was a funny video! Every driver in the industry should watch it - that video might convince many of them to NEVER pee in public.

  • our 3 year old is crazy about this video!! We don't have many of these trucks in The Netherlands so it's even more exciting for him.

  • @Rodenrijzeres Very cool! I'm glad he enjoys the video! Hopefully I can make another one soon.

  • I wonder if the container delivery truck driver was curious about you stalking him

  • @domokid Actually I spotted him in a hardware store parking lot, he was trying to get to the neighboring store, but had to go back onto the highway to get there. So I only had to "stalk" him for all of a minute. If he noticed me during that short time, I'm willing to bet it did make him curious.

  • 3:58 Now Thats Just Lazy

  • @alanrivazgonzalez He was just picking up the final part of a giant pile... he raked that little bit up. Most drivers would have just left the mess.

  • Who the fuck throws a good old basketball ramp

  • @gameslayeral I think it was pretty beat up.

  • i like 4:30 till 4:40 :P.. i think the container doesnt is made to make that move...

  • @9replay9 Those carts are pretty tough. They will take a lot of abuse.

  • GARBAGE DAY!

  • @Iggy3 With this video... everyday can be garbage day. =)

  • Hmh

  • @s586786r Thanks for stopping by.

  • Working on a manual rear loader will fuck your body up, make you hate people, turn you into a nasty motherfucker and that's only after your first day!

  • @RandomConcepts This is why more and more cities are moving to a "Pay as you throw" system of garbage collection. Basically they charge you per bag of trash and take recycling for free.

  • My almost 2 year old LOVES your videos!! Thanks!

  • @bexnew6 I'm very happy to see that! Thanks for watching!

  • Maybe you would like to check the video I uploaded to show one garbage truck from Norway... see you.

  • @juliosdutra VERY COOL video! I just watched it, that's actually a type of truck I haven't seen before. Thanks for letting me know about it.

  • @juliosdutra what video?

  • @labrieexpert2000 I am going to post the link on your channel.

  • @juliosdutra ok

  • that guy was like ''go youtube''

  • @TheBradleytv1 LOL yeah, he was very friendly.

  • I think we need to ask ourselves, Why are we watching videos on garbage trucks...? =.=

  • @ryusanbusa This allows people to learn about the industry, I've used these videos as a networking tool to meet other drivers, manufacturers, dealers, and managers within the garbage industry - from all around the world.

  • Awesome vids. I'm a commercial swing driver in Indy for WM. I wish somebody would start a trash truck drivers forum.

  • @guitartrashman There's a group of drivers, fans, a couple manufacturers, and anyone else that is interested in the industry over on Flickr. I'll send you a link via PM.

  • wow some of these i have never seen before thanks for the vid

  • @marybob321 You are welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! =)

  • Hey all garbage truck enthusiasts, there is a great new iPhone/iPad app called "Garbage Truck",... my kid loves it!

  • @robot6363 LOL - nice.

  • I could have used that basketball goal. UGH. LOL

  • @dondonnie115 It's long gone now. I think it was in bad condition, the video makes it look better than it was.

  • Hey Alan the ASL At 39 Secs Looks like a LODAL Evo Am i right?

  • @HoCkEYpLayErTuFo Yep, you've got that right!

  • why at a 4:00 are they use the machine to pick up a small load of twigs it's pointless and at 8:16 just hold the thing there and shoot some hops

  • @strangefire97 The driver had just finished picking up a huge pile of material, the small pile was created after he raked the remaining material into a small pile. This is called excellent customer service. I think he did a great job, he could have just left a mess after picking up the large pile, but he didn't.

  • why at a 4:00 are they use the machine to pick up a small load of twigs it's pointless

  • @strangefire97 i havent watched this in awhile but i do this every day and the sticks and twigs fill the hopper and you cant fit any thing else in but its ok because it gets packed in there so tight by the end of the day that in the long run it dosent even matter if you run a small load up

  • @SuperHighDIZZYguy yer but it would save time just getting out and picking them up

  • somebody came into work today with a part off a truck he said was used at a waste water plant. he was saying that chains are involved and while it is in the process of dumping or lifting or something two pins come out and make it act like a dump truck. Does this sound at all familiur. he said it is pretty cool to watch and im just trying to find out what kind of truck it was

  • @pizzaisgood14 The only truck I can think of... off hand... in the solid waste industry, that uses chains would be a lugger truck. It uses chains to lift very large containers onto its bed. But I'm not 100% sure that was the truck the person was referring to. It is more likely that the truck is a grease or used cooking oil collection truck. I've got a really good picture of one somewhere on Flickr... send me a message if you really want to see it, I can send you the link.

  • what goes into the the bleu the green and the black bins?

  • @anoniem1725 What part of the video are you referring to?

  • nom nom nom

  • i feel sorry for the basket ball thing at 9:15

  • @cliffdoggenbumper It was damaged, I don't think it was in really good condition.

  • at 3.03 the side door of the container falls in the pak-mor FL

  • @labrieexpert2000 Yep, it definitely did.

  • that poor basketball hoop at 8:05

  • @lordspyrox It was damaged. The video makes it look much better than it appeared in person. I'm surprised a scrap metal collector didn't grab it before the crew arrived.

  • 4:13 now thats just lazy

  • @kissfanbilly Not actually, I don't believe he had any other tools aside from a rake. That pile in the clip is a small pile the driver created after he removed a much larger pile of brush. He actually raked up the remaining material and cleaned up the left over mess that many other drivers would simply ignore.

  • 0:20 THEY FORGOT ONE DUMPSTER?

  • @UltimateCODkiller Not sure what you are referring to - at 0:20 the truck collects the cart that is shown.

  • well i work on a back loader. we take every thing. i like that "slow down when you go around" iv only been doing this for 9 months and almost got hit about 50 times . maybe more! and people actually have got out of there cars to flip out on me! like they dont know where back there. its very degrading since i cant even say any thing back without losing my job. i been spit at on christmas, please be nice to the garbage man! its a hard job

  • @SuperHighDIZZYguy Thanks! Yeah working on a rear loader can be frustrating. I know your pain, I've almost been hit before.

  • way to give er boys . My garbage man would have left the basket ball hoop behind.

    These guys rock.

  • Comment removed

  • @Gdelikatny : well in all fairness they have to know that its garbage, we cant just go around thorwing things in like bikes, hoops, garbage cans ppl dont want, and any thing else u might find by a curb. just leave a note or come out and ask them to take it.. thats the only way we can take things that can frequently be found by curbs. otherwise ppl wouylb be much more upset then if we didnt take it.......valid point?

  • @SuperHighDIZZYguy : and u would think the basket ball net coulda been salvaged .i constantly find things that arent garbage and cant keep. take it to a flee market or a pawn shop or donate or somthing!

  • @SuperHighDIZZYguy Valid point. This video reminds me of the old days. Around here if it doesnt fit in the garbage or recycling bin can they wont take it. I was admiring the routine perserverence as they gobble this thing up for the landfill.

We dont see that kind of stuff here in our city anymore so it was cool to watch. They went to automated trucks, 2 recycle bins per family and diverted 75% of household waste away from the landfills, an Impressive success.

  • @Gdelikatny Sorry to see that they won't take large items by the curb, do you get a "clean-up day" at least? Clean-up days allow customers to put almost anything curbside at least once every year - usually on a predetermined date.

  • that garbage truck at 2:50 looked awsome

  • @legojake1 Glad you enjoyed seeing it!

  • @FormerWMDriver I'm sure the driver at 3:00 will get a kick out of that !

  • my little brother is obcessed with garbage trucks..

  • @jbjjlover I've got a new version of this video, so if he really loves seeing the trucks - it'll keep him busy for almost 20 mins. LOL

  • @FormerWMDriver really because he would love that... hes 2 yrs old, and we put him in from of this video and he just sits and watches it for hours... as long as we keep replaying it!!! LOL

  • @FormerWMDriver Cool I like the recycling truck but what one do you drive?

  • @robot7070 I'm not driving at the moment but in about 2 weeks I'll be behind the wheel of a truck - most likely a recycling truck.

  • @MultiMonster I doubt the driver noticed the door falling off because he could not see it when it fell and because the door is mounted on the outside of the dumpster he would just think the door was in the open position when he set the dumpster back down.

  • @msnpassjan2004 You are probably right, but I did give this driver the link to find the original video, so if he watched it at a later date, he probably knows now.

  • o my god nice catch with the basketball hoop

  • @MultiMonster69 Thank you, that was unplanned and happened by pure luck. When I saw the truck that was one of the first stops I saw it collect.

  • my 2.5 year old loved it

  • @jewllake That's awesome! Glad to see that, I've made a new edition of this video, so maybe he'll enjoy that too.

  • The side door falls off the dumpsters at 3:00

  • @msnpassjan2004 i wonder if the driver knew

  • @msnpassjan2004 Thanks for watching!

  • 5:26 glass broke

  • @michaelgraddy019283 Thanks for stopping by!

  • Ok so my girlfriends nephew is only 2 years old and Let me tell you that he gets a kick out of watching trash truck videos he sits at the desk watching video after video gettin excited when a trash truck throws trash away its like a sport to him i guess lol good job on posting the videos made my girlfriends job of watching him so easy lol

  • @rainbowbabe87 LOL - Glad I could keep him entertained. I just finished a 2nd video like this one - "TYPES OF 'GARBAGE TRUCKS' 2" and it's twice as long. Should keep him busy for almost 20 mins. LOL =)

  • @nick14877 The City of Tallahassee, FL use to run ASL's with large crews like that.

  • @nick14877 I'm guessing you didn't like the overall operation of the truck by the driver? Or did you not like the paint job?

  • This was an educational video, thanks! We just got a rear-loader garbage truck toy for our boy and he couldn't figure out how it worked. The last part of your video solved that mystery. (He concluded that it was far less automated than expected). We also saw the garbage bin lose its window at 3:04!

  • @kuiperobject Thanks! I'm glad you were able to learn something from this video. =D Thank you for enjoying the video.

  • After one year I still frequentaly go back to this vid, once again teriffic work Alan

  • @mtr82952 Thanks! Glad you still enjoy the video. I may have to make an updated one eventually.

  • How much these trucks cost brand new?

  • @promise72 Depends on the type of truck, manufacturer, etc... but most of these are around $200,000.00 brand new.

  • 3:20 the side door falls off into the garbage xD
