Domanda da inesperto: stando a quello che dice la Signora, un mezzosoprano non può in assoluto fare coloratura? O a suo modo intende dire che può se ci si dedica con anni di studio come giustamente ha fatto lei? Perchè ruoli di coloratura ce ne sono non soltanto per chi è soprano (qualcosina pure per gli uomini!)...

@PaganMelodies Allora... la coloratura esiste in tutti i registri, ma la si usa di piu per le voci seguenti, tenore leggero o di grazia, Soprano leggero o di coloratura, e mezzo soprano lirico di coloratura!!! lei qui si riferisce a passare da mezzo a soprano di coloratura il che è a dir poco assurdo!! sono 2 voci completamente diverse!! il mezzo puo fare la coloratura, ma quella prevista nella sua tessitura!! essempio NON PIU MESTA (Cenerentola) coloratura per soprano è LA REGINA DELLA NOTTE!!

I ear many voices, beautiful, less beautiful... but, in my opinion they're too based on theory, and this in practice doesn't help them (the students).

In fact I ear beautiful voices blocked by a stupid thing, and I say "why don't you do this way?" (the student says) "Oh miss Serra It works!". Miss Serra "Of course that works! Let the voice run out".

I saw Luciana Serra whenever the Met allowed her on stage during the 90's , and she was flawless every time - Flute, Idomeneo. I cannot understand why she is unknown, even among opera singers.

Quanto poi a quella che tu definisci 'voce legnosa e senza colori', beh, dichiari da solo la tua ignoranza, perché è evidente che non l'hai mai sentita dal vivo. Diversamente, avresti ascoltato una voce risonantissima, dotata di una magnifica tecnica di canto sul fiato, con suoni avanti così. Tu non impareresti un'h da lei!? Mi sa che il superbo sei tu; e per come ragioni devi essere un cantante mediocrissimo che avrebbe moto da imparare dalla Serra.

@leprincebeaumont premetto col dire che io sono molto giovane e avrei mai potuto vederla in teatro! dico anche che con chiunque io parli(professionisti compresi)tutti sono concordi nel dire che la voce della serra è LEGNOSA!..io nn ho negato il fatto che avesse tanta tecnica,ma la qualità del suono per me è inadatto alla maggior parte delle cose che ha cantato!...sentendo la sua Anna Bolena mi viene da sentirmi male...e poi tutti hanno notato quant'è altera e superba...

Tali opinioni sono spesso il frutto del risentimento e dell'invidia di chi, come si dice, non è arrivato. Ho ascoltato la Bolena della Serra dal vivo: certo quel timbro così chiaro dispiace a molti (ed è legittimo), ma credimi se ti dico che la voce in teatro è amplissima, rotonda e con bellissime sfumature. Siamo d'accordo, magari un po' severa, ma secondo me tutti i nuovi cantanti hanno bisogno di imparare una tecnica e certamente come lei ha detto non c'è nessuno oggi tra tutti gli studenti capace di cantare como loro facevano quaranta oppure cinquant'anni fa. Allo stesso tempo mi piacerebbe ricordare che lei aveva una tecnica meravigliosa e una simpatia divina. Una delle piu grande cantante. BRAVA LUCIA!!!

E' molto vero quello che dice; dieci anni sono tanti, non è necessario per tutte le voci studiare così a lungo, però è vero che c'è molta fretta e questo nuoce alla tecnica. E' pieno di belle voci che debuttano e nel giro di 6 anni sono già fuori gioco.

Well, this is a quite unusual career. I don't know Bridgitte Fasbender, so I can't judge, but no voice change in this way, that a singer must change vocal role (from soprano to mezzo or similar). Well, there are those who did like that, but (even if their voices sounded still wonderful) they did that because of (often vocal) problems. Maybe you think I'm saying non senses because a lot of great singers did it... But it's a medical truth. Chords can evolve, but can't change like that

They first sing then study singing... They have not patience.
