  • do u have a boyfriend

  • Haha. I did that once. Except I turned up to school with my sleepover bag because I thought I was staying over my friend's house (turns out it was a week too early), and the looks I got!

  • Once i walked into my 6th period class when it was 5th period. Right as the bell rang. not only was i looked at as if socially retarded, i was also late to my actual 5th period class.

    meh.

  • melissa don't even worry. only worry when you walk right into POLLS and WALLS. that's called oblivious-ness.

    :D <3333

  • You're all making me feel quite grateful, because I have a wonderful family already.

Thanks for helping me to count my blessings.

  • I HAVE done that before. Except I did it at my cousins wedding. I got all dolled up, and so did my girlfriends that came with me, and there were there setting up when we arrived. it was horrible.

  • It would be way worse to show up a day too late... You know, I think I've done that once or twise...

  • sorcery and cecilia is amazing!!!!!

  • i showed up at school in pyjamas a week early!

  • My family and I celebrated mother's day a week early... two years in a row. :)

You look very pretty, at least you looked nice when you showed up early.

  • Hope you have lots of fun in Italy Melissa!

  • poor melissa. i don't think showing up a day early is so bad, especially after reading some of the other people's stories on here. omg, harrysjulie, LOL. that's pretty hilarious that you sat with another group for 20 min before realizing that your event had been moved. and got2be13, your post was hilarious too. sorry you fell out of your desk.

    have fun in italy, melissa!

  • No worries Melissa!

Yesterday in my creative writing class i tried to scoot my desk over but instead it fell.... with me in it. Not the most graceful thing. And then i had to figure out how i was going to get out of this situation with even a little dignity left. And i failed.

But you do look very pretty! :)

  • At least you didn't show up a day late.

Have a wonderful time in Italy, Melissa!

    :o)

  • like Hank, I very much recommend Sorcery and Cecelia!!!!! I've read it several times. Also, the sequels: The Grand Tour; The Mislaid Magician.

    have a fun trip! :)

  • Trust me, showing up a day early is not the worst...

Not showing up at all is definitely the worst.

  • Oh, it's alright Melly :]. We all do stupid things. The worst of mine, purposely not studying for a major test :P.

Hm. I wish I could 'audition' for being you! MY parents are all strict about NO POSTING YOUTUBE VIDS etc etc. But, we'll miss you while you're in Italy! Have fun!

From what I can see through the pixels, you look great!! :]. LOOVE the jewelry. I'm a freak of accessories and you ARE approved! ;]

  • sorcery and cecelia is really cute, i read it a few years ago :)

  • I went trick or treating three weeks early but that was on purpose.

I went to Italy last spring; it was awesome.

    Yeah, it looks good. :)

  • At least you didn't show up a day late. :)

  • I've got one on you. I arrived at a restaurant for a going away party and they had cancelled it to go somewhere else and NO ONE TOLD ME!!!! Not just that, the hostess sat me at another group's table. I sat there with people arriving that I didn't know for 20 minutes before figuring out what was going on.

A good example as to why I don't like being around people.

  • Comment removed

  • i've deff done that! I was on my way there and called their house to find out it was next week... i promptly turned the car around and went home....

  • lol, oh Melissa ....

  • my friend arrived a week before a party once

  • My friend has a dress up Halloween party every year. Not last year apparently. So when i showed up dressed as a hamburger, I felt quite stupid.

    Love you!

  • a) I once showed up to a party two weeks early. Really now.

    b) I LOVED Disreputable History. So excellent.

  • I'll miss you! Have an AWESOME trip!

  • Have a fun trip Melissa! I can't wait to hear all about Italy!

  • thats my mirror of erised too, melissa.

  • Once, my entire family showed up for a baby shower, wait for it... six days early. FAIL

  • The most embarrassing thing I did recently was get up in the early morning for work, shower, shave, prepare and eat breakfast, and just as I grabbed my bag to leave I noticed the clock said 2:30 am (I don't leave for work until 7:30 am).

  • I'm having a bad day today too. My lower back is killing me. Why must I be in pain before I get better. :P

  • haha only the great Melissa Aneli could manage to have a pixelated video, in HD!

  • The stupid think I did was today. I knocked down a case of my mom's bells that she collects. Only three broke, but it was so stupid.

  • Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel is kind of like a combo of Jane Austen and JKR. Maybe more Jane Austen.

  • well look on the bright side at least you weren't a day late ;)

  • On the bright side, at least you weren't late! Stupid things I've done...I'm sure there are more I've forgotten about, and this is more klutzy than stupid (although I'm sure I looked stupid!); in the 7th grade, in PE, we were doing relay obstacles, and were supposed to run backwards. I had always been able to run backwards before, but this day I fell down 3-4 times in a row; got back up, fell down again, got back up, fell down again, to the great laughter of the entire gym. So embarrassing...

  • I was having a pretty bad day and came home and watched this.... And found out ur day was much worse!! HA!! JUST KIDDING!! I'll miss you til april!! Lots of Luv!!

  • have fun in italy melissa!!

  • I was invited to a party but realised the day of the party i had no idea where it was!!! So i called the boy up all excited asked him what his adress was... He proceeded to tell me... He then proceeded to give me directions. All excited im talking to him about this party ready to go and he adds " but you know the party was yesturday right...?"

  • OH MY GOSH Sorcery and Cecelia (or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot) is AMAZING!!! It really is a combo of Jane Austen and JKR. I highly recommend. The sequels aren't as good but still enjoyable.

  • Have fun on your trip, we'll miss you! :D

  • this quality is terrible! i'm sorry, i can't watch the hd either so its kinda bad...

sorry, anyways,i've never thought of my mirror of erised....i should now. anyways. hair was fantastic. ;P really liked that story! its great!

  • The stupidest thing I've ever done was when I was visiting my sister in her new neighborhood (where all the houses are cookie cutter and all look exactly the same) I acciedentally walked into the wrong persons house when I was coming back from the grocery store... yeah and there was a family sitting in the family room that definitly wasn't my sister's... that was pretty bad.

  • Melissa, I would like to tell you that t wasn't stupid ... ... .... but then I would have to lie, lol.

Oh, those moments are funny. You are awesome.

  • Hey Melissa!! I hope you have a safe trip and I wanted to tell you about a book series that I think you might like ( it's written by the same author as the Sorcery and Cecelia book you were talking about) called The Enchanted Forest Chronicles. It mixes magic and funny very well. There is a talking Dragon :)

  • I can top that. I called my mom to wish her a Happy Birthday. Not only was it the wrong DAY ( I called on the 25th her birthday is the 27th) It was the wrong MONTH! (I called in January and her birthday is in February.) THEN to make it the most AMAZING thing ever. I called her AGAIN on FEBRUARY 25th, two days before her actual birthday.

So yeah your's is bad but I think I beat it.

  • HAHAHAHA!!

  • I've always wanted to go to Italy! Your lucky. I know somebody that walked into the wrong house without knocking. LOL. I think that's worse. :)

  • Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is another Jane Austen meets Harry Potter book. But it's over 1000 pages, so it's pretty epic. I am planning to read it this summer. :)

    Have fun in Italy, Melissa!

    xx

  • It must be some sort of spring madness because Saturday I drove an hour and a half to attend a meeting that is next Saturday.

  • Yay, Italy! Have fun!!!

On the stupid things I've done... so many to choose from, but one that comes to mind: I mixed up two due dates on papers and worked my butt off on one that ended up being due months away when it was the other one that I hadn't worked on at all that was due that day. Such is life. Occasional stupidity is unfortunately part of the bargain! :)

  • Haha! I did that once. It was pretty awkward.

  • Once I arrived one month early to a party, not fun!

  • liar, I know you dressed up because you love us. no? ok.

    have fun in Italy!

  • they should get Bre or Sam to replace you. Or Rosianna :)

  • I guess arriving about a party a night late- which I've done :P

  • HAHAHHA aww Melissa you seriously made me LOL! NOt the first time either? LOLL I don't think I've ever done that but I've done other silly things like once I kind of forgot to go to a party in college..

I'm sorry to laugh, that's such a cute mistake, but hey, even pixilated I can see you were dressed to impress, so you'll look great the next day too!

HAVE A SAFE AND FUN TRIP and BRING US BACK SOME ITALIAN!! = )

  • hey, Melissa, remember when you did the book reading at the Columbus Circle Borders? I almost ended up going to that a day early, but I realized in time, lol.

  • At least you didn't show up a day late!

I really enjoyed Sorcery and Cecilia--the authors wrote it in letter format, each as one character to the other, which really intrigued me:)

  • i showed up to middle school one day thinking it was a dress-up spirit day...yea it wasn't! i went to catholic school soooo everyone was in their uniforms minus me ha ha ha!

(btw i have done the dress-up-for-a-party-that-isn't-that-day thing--prob twice)

    <3Levi-OH-sa

  • Melissa, aw you are a silly. Atleast you arrived early and not late!

I was thinking that you might enjoy 'Jonathan Strange and Mr.Norrell' (I know Sue has read it). I can't really understand the 'J.K.Rowling-ness' that people attach to it - it's quite different, even the magic in the story is very dissimilar. The writing does echo Austen though, it's brilliantly witty. When I think of the thought that went in to weaving the characters throughout the tapestry of the plot.. utterly awe-inspiring.

  • Know can truly replace you Melissa. Showing up on the wrong day sounds more like a John problem.

  • Aiiii!! Che imbarazzante! Sono andata alla scuola il giorno primo che la scuola ha cominciato...quello era imbarazzante. Tutti i miei professori hanno veduto e hanno riso. Blech.

Spero che abbiate una buona vacanza in Italia!

    ~Cait

  • I ALMOST did that. I got all dressed up, did my hair, was about to walk out the door, and then decided to look at the invitation and calendar again. The party was the next day. :P I felt like an idiot.

  • I think it's way dumber to arrive to a party one day late.

  • Have fun in Italy!! Oh I'm so jealous. Both your Mirror of Eirased image, and Frak's boggart aren't at all vain. Vain is like seeing yourself famous, and very popular. You all already are that, ;)

  • Have a SAFE TRIP!!!

  • family came into town and i didn't know who they were but when i opened the door, they said "we're family" and i let them in. Thankfully they were family and not crazy people..well they might be a little crazy.

  • so I'm a little behind on my Pottercasts so I didn't know you were going to be in Italy, but that's really weird because I'm going to be there as well until April 14. Okay, not as big of a coincidence for you, but I was also in Amsterdam unintentionally when John Green was there, so I find it very weird.

  • Have a safe & fun trip!!!! <3

  • I'm going to miss you so much Melissa! I look forward to your blogs every Monday, and of course Pottercast. I hope you have a good time in Italy though!

  • I've done that before...

    except it was a concert...

and it was not the next day...

    but the day before!

    THAT'S STUPID!

  • When I was little my mom took me to a birthday party the day after the actual party! I was so mad!

  • Hugs Kisses and Awesome!

  • Aw, don't worry Melissa, that's like my life- whatever things that can go wrong do. Anyway, have fun in Italy!

  • Italy is gorgeous....have fun!

  • I think that having a family is the perfect thing to see in Erised.

Anhd I''ve turned up to parties on the wrong day several times. I've also had a friend call me 20 mins after the party was meant to start and ask me if today was the right day.

  • We'll miss you, Melissa! Have a good time in Italy.

  • We'll miss you, Melissa! Have a good time in Italy.

  • haha! xD that was so hilarious xD how did they react when you just came over all dressed up ? :P

  • When I was 9 I did. Except half the other kids did too, because the invite said saturday the 11th, and the saturday was the 10th, so half the people assumed the date, the others the day. My mum and I were wrong...

  • LOL...I've showed up to the wrong place for a job interview before, but never to something the day before.

    Nice.

Ah, I'll miss the ustreams every Monday. Have fun in Italy!
