This movie would have been even better if they trashed the Boston accents. It comes out of nowhere and you're like "wait, what?" When she says "You ahh!" it ruins the scene haha.
I used to work in Boston doing mental health and drug counseling. This is still easily the best representation of a therapist (a doctor at that!) who is out of her league and more concerned with her ego and her own gentle feelings than the client. Look how she returns his probing and his attitude with her own jabs instead of telling him it's not the place for that and moving on.
Years later I still recommend this scene as the best example of what not to do in therapy.
This doesnt even do The Departed justice what so ever. You must see the 50th minute to the 60th minute to even understand this scene. Greatest ten minutes in Movie history. The sorrowful score by Howard Shore is superb and the inter woven line of scenes that somehow fit all together to mae sense is absolute magic. By the way im 18. not that it matters but i like to show that im not just one of thos young guys thats into movies with big titts and explosions....not that anything is wrong with them
