However I am also a full believer in if you can't take it, then don't dish it out.
I don't specifically target anyone. Usually it's just as soon as I hear someone say something stupid or try to troll others using terrible grammar, they make themselves a target.

My experiances with the fandom has shown me that the reason hugging and actual body contact is so prevelent, is because the fandom is more open and relaxed than regular society.
Witch mixes with human need for contact, because the biggest attraction to almost all alternative groups is the socially awkward kid/adult.

2. I love giving honest answers to questions. Some say the answers I give are too much information, but if someone asks personal questions about another's sexuality, they best be ready to receive the answer politely as it was requested.
3. Depends on the forum. I think getting a hug from a wolfman is nice. Furries go to their conventions to be entertained, so suspension of disbelief is okay. Hugging random people, on the other hand, is out of line.

I'm not saying that there aren't any non-mammalian creatures in the fandom. I just want to figure out why most people want to represent themselves as wolves rather than, say, bald eagles or iguanas.
Simple. Werewolves are the most common furry exposed to kids, so logically, that's the most common furry archetype selected. So, you have werewolves in the fandom and their admirers, the foxes. Don't read too much into it: there's no overly present ruleset for reasons to choose either one.

Here's the way I see trolling trolls. I enjoy it thoroughly. It fun for me to get a troll spun up.
However I am also a full believer in if you can't take it, then don't dish it out.
I don't specifically target anyone. Usually it's just as soon as I hear someone say something stupid or try to troll others using terrible grammar, they make themselves a target.

My experiances with the fandom has shown me that the reason hugging and actual body contact is so prevelent, is because the fandom is more open and relaxed than regular society.
Witch mixes with human need for contact, because the biggest attraction to almost all alternative groups is the socially awkward kid/adult.
Meaning, hugging can be both social lax and a psychological need for contact.

Regarding hugging; hugging, apart from emotion, is a custom. There are many countries where it is still practiced. Heck; there's a few countries where it's customary for men to kiss each other on both cheeks. It's not considered romantic/sexual act. It is simply custom.
Therefore; it is logical to assume that hugging, in the furry fandom, is custom; nothing more.

Yes I do ^^ But I've designed it not to be 50/50. The Puma details are just minor. So unless I tell people that its part Puma, then assume its just a fox.
(Its hidden mostly in resulting of a short muzzle, and a little more muscled then and average fox, also the fur color is more orangy, also the ear are a lil more round).
But if you really would like to see, there is a video on my page that features some of my earlier images. They are poorly drawn, but does gives a general view on its design.

No, not really. I've decided to put these two together for both mental and physical abilities of both.
Where the Fox is resourceful and patient, the Puma is stealthy and strong. IRL I'm fairly resourceful, patient, and stealthy. So I found it only natural (hence the irony) to combine the two.
And for looks I did it to fine tune the appearance of the Fox. To let it look like my real me. I'm not skinny, but not super buff either.

you know... the bashing here is justified. Some of the interactions (hugging) may seem unorthodox nowadays because people bring it a little too far with the groping and all that. Hugging was originally meant to be just an affectionate greeting that lasted about as long as a handshake. And the non-creativeness of most fursonas, yeah, totally justified, i've seen that too. Fireraider?! I know that fag from a while back! He came into 4chan and wanted to like, become leader of Anonymous or some shit like that. I told him to remove his name and any identification, then labeled him a tool. He's not anon.

you make some excellent points with this video, furries ARE hipocrites, and they DO whine all the fucking time. I may be a fur myself, but I'm not above blasting my own fandom for being retarded at times. Oh and yes, I can pat myself on the back for my depravity ;) Furred Dragon with dreadlocks here :P

1. Trolling is an invasion of privacy. When you address the fandom in these videos with questions, you are inviting a response. No invasion of privacy here with the open invitation.

2. I love giving honest answers to questions. Some say the answers I give are too much information, but if someone asks personal questions about another's sexuality, they best be ready to receive the answer politely as it was requested.
3. Depends on the forum. I think getting a hug from a wolfman is nice. Furries go to their conventions to be entertained, so suspension of disbelief is okay. Hugging random people, on the other hand, is out of line.

4. I take it you do not participate in a lot of our functions. If you did, you'd see that there are many different species of animal-people represented, including reptilians and birds -- maybe even a few aliens. I do not have a "fursona"; my furry name is nothing more than a pseudonym.

I'm not saying that there aren't any non-mammalian creatures in the fandom. I just want to figure out why most people want to represent themselves as wolves rather than, say, bald eagles or iguanas.

Simple. Werewolves are the most common furry exposed to kids, so logically, that's the most common furry archetype selected. So, you have werewolves in the fandom and their admirers, the foxes. Don't read too much into it: there's no overly present ruleset for reasons to choose either one.

An honest and actual reason for the huggin is that most furs are socially inept and starved for social contact.
I AM a furry. I'm a geek, artist, gamer, traceur, clubber etc and damn proud of it but I -actually- have an idea of what social subtelty is.
Many furs are nerds to an extreeme, I like it personaly cause you meet some interesting people, but some of the fur are just -damn creepy-. So the hugging is because 'OMG someone's letting me touch them' and as such they go to extreems.

hugging is a way to show affection without implying sex. It is also just a way to say how much they enjoyed somthing. I wasnt sexually abused as a child. Ok, the idea of a fursona is to identify with a single animal. whether it is fictional or not, thats fine. Unfortunetly, wolves and foxes are a very popular animal in the fandom.

I'm against dragging the fandom into the public eye. It just gets us bad press, usually because you have a stupid fursuiter running around alot.

First of all when you say "You people" your pointing at the entire fandom from what it sounds like. I don't see every single furry in the fandom trolling you right now. Most of us ignore you in hopes you will get bored and go away.
