The minorities only have rights if the MAJORITY of people let them. Thats why democracy isn't so good. Its better then a dictatorship sure, but it ain't that better and infact in many cases have lead to dictatorships in the past. Remember, the greeks had slaves ;)
Democracy is horrible. We need a constitutional republic in which people can choose who represents them in a direct representation non partisan election. Government needs to be restored to a local level with the federal government in place to protect the rights of the people and the rule of law. We need individual liberty, not mob rule. In democracy a small group will always convince the mob into giving them the power, and then you will have oligarchy.
@d3ltadrive wouldn't it make sense if once people are elected they can be UNelected when they don't do what they promised to do before the election? It just seems so backwards that we choose our leaders based on promises they make instead of actual achievements. Obama did pretty much the opposite of what he was elected for and all we can do is choose the next bullshitter... politics is obsolete, counterproductive and pointless...

@Blexine if ONLY big brother WAS taking care of those that can't care for themselves instead of taking care of itself at the expense of millions of lives under the pretext of 'freedom & democracy' , if ONLY they were educating all children instead of dumbing them down so they keep running on the treadmill, we would not need any ( or barely any ) laws and/or government. You are of course right that misappropriation of funds and secret handshakes is what gives rise to these failures of government, but I think it is folly to imagine that will ever stop. As long as there's a river of money flowing through the gov. they will always be tempted to swim in it. Cut out the huge gov. budget and you cut out their ability to misdirect funds. End of story IMHO.
