  • What is the original name of this song?

  • @DeboraMebarak It comes from the polovtsian dances...there's not a name

  • Are you effing SERIOUS?!?!?!?! I HAD LIKE A THREE PAGE LONG ESSAY AND IT WOULDN'T LET ME POST IT????? I. AM. REALLY. MAD. AAAAHHHH!!!!! Well, it only took me a HALF AN HOUR!!!!!

  • I enjoy reading comments about ballet vs other sports/arts. It's kinda fun to watch everyone flip out at each other :D I am a ballet dancer, and I can tell you from my pointe (---- hahaha...) of view, ballet is REALLY freakin' hard!! But I can also tell you from a hip hop dancer's point (---- ...) of view, hip hop is REALLY freakin' hard, too!! In fact, EVERY form of dance is hard!! I take tap, jazz, and ballet. I am pouring with sweat (eewwiee) after every class. I have a good friend who has b

  • C'mon people! This is just not fair at all,you ballet people talk about how long it takes to master a move, well do you think that one day I said "hey, today,I want to spin on my head, and also I'll isolate each part of my body by the end of the day"No,it was not like that.. Plus, Does anybody knows this girls? I would rather compare I don't know about ballet actually, but by the hip hop side, I think I bet LES TWINS, HONG 10, and CICO, give me your best shoot ballet, that would be interesting.

  • @facuss09 les twins, hong 10 are tottaly amazing best of the best...but cico ? seriously ? some good powermoves but he s not even a dancer

  • @stronger715 I mentioned Cico cause people here says that Hip Hop dancing is easy, well, bboying is a part of hip hop, and powermoves are part of bboying, and I don't think that doing 14 spins in 1990 is such an easy thing to do..

  • @facuss09 yeah that s right but most of the people here are fucking stupid :) and all the ballet dancers here that say hip hop is easy because they have tried, only do choreography, the most easy thing in hip hop dance lol! and popping, hip hop new style, breakdance at the best level is extremely hard but they don t understand ! and of course ballet dancing is hard too ! sorry for english

  • @stronger715 lol I bet they would be able to do a fuckin kick out, so.. it's pretty funny to wacht such stupids comments haha don't worry I'm from Argentina, so my english isn't that good neither (:

  • so nike sells pointe shoes now?

  • i love the music!

  • btw why are ballet dancers so stuck up and full of themselves in movies? :D

  • @nosonbla2 ballet dancers aren't who movies make them be. get to know one before talking about one.

  • @zmz97 here's another one :) 'get to know one before talking about one' blablabla u ever joke and smile?

  • good

  • her turnout it INSANE.

  • This video has been selected by the channel as one of the Dance videos on YouTube and was added to the channel's playlist accordingly. Thanks for sharing.

  • I love this. Whoever hates this should go learn ballet & you'll realize the pain of having blisters all the time & perfection is hard. Go learn hip hop let's see can you even break & pop. Dancing is art & it's never easy.

  • FAKE!

  • Hip hop girl looks like Kirsten Dunst

  • think about it this way... in the end, the ballet dancer ended up doing hiphop with the hiphop dancer. but i dont think that the hip hop dancer could start dancing ballet all of a sudden.

  • @azuenko lol but she looks so awkward doing hip hop...

  • @azuenko on the level she danced hip hop, i could dance ballet (and this as a hip hop dancer)

  • как музыка называется?

  • may not be the best ballerina, but she is really gorgeous O.O

  • May I just add that I would turn lesbian for the ballerina girl :]

  • I love how some of you are arguing about ballet and hip hop and others are trying to justify the greatness of both...

This video's main point is to show to different dancers coming together with their versions of dance with the same choreography and showing us the uniqueness of both. JUST ENJOY THE VIDEO. I doubt nike had all of this crap in mind when they made this.

  • @SheLikesYou1 Shut up you're no better than the people trying to justify it

  • @arancienne How? I'm just saying enjoy the video.

  • @SheLikesYou1 Well don't tell them to enjoy the video, if they did they wouldn't be arguing like a bunch of idiots. Enjoy it yourself.

  • 'now....how about you two kiss :P ....

  • idk y this almost made me cry

    i love watching this :D

  • That's what this video was about. Dancers should be able to respect their other fellow dancers. Even if they are not in the same category.

  • I am literally shaking my head at all the crap I'm hearing about ballet is "clearly" better than Hip-Hop. They are both amazing in their own ways. Yes, in ballet there's technique and discipline and all that great stuff but do you guys REALLY think that hip hop isn't full of technique and discipline as well?! This is coming from a ballet dancer AND a hip hop dancer. Both types of dance require technique and discipline just of different kinds. It's all about RESPECT for both dances.

  • Anyone else just not impressed by dance?

  • ballet is about discipline, flexibility, focus, mastering your own body and connecting it with your mind for a complexity and stability of movements to come, hip-hop is just relaxing and moving in a style of music, moves that can be thought in 1 month or even less and require no use of brain at all. Ballet wins in every aspect

  • lol i love the way people argue about which is better and totally miss the point of the video.

The tune is just crying out to be used in a deep rap song (for me anyway, yeah i know loads of people dont like rap etc. etc.) i love the beat from the hip hop with the classical sound from the ballet style.

  • you can say all you want about ballet and hiphop... all I can say is the BALLERINA IS HOT!

  • what's the track?is there a name for it?

  • @MsBonata it sounds like a techno, instrumental version of "stranger in paradise' from the musical kismet

  • @mypurpleconverse72 actually it's a remix of "Prince Igor:Polovtsian Dances Part1" that Endless Noise made for this commercial...

  • comparing ballet to this shit is like led zeppelin to jusin bieber

  • Comparing the two is like comparing abstract to realist painting, one's more uncontrolled and spontaneous while the other is refined and sensitive. They're beautiful in different ways. :D

  • @arcturian627 NO i think the classic can be uncontrolled and spontaneous and the hip hop refined and sensitive. it work on both way

  • hahaha i love it

  • Клюква)))

  • Both styles require a lot of effort to master them, it looks easy, but you begin it.

Being a dancer is not done, is born.

Stop fighting over styles and are happy because you love to dance.

much love and long life to the dancers.

  • People honestly don't understand that ballet is so much more than throwing yourself around. For example, in hip hop you don't get told to stay on your leg, lift your sides, look up, concentrate!, don't sink in the hip, leg higher, stomach tight, etc.. You get the point? No, no one will ever understand the discipline of ballet unless you have done in for 20 years.

  • Sorry ballet wins. It is so graceful.

  • Ballet has so many precise requirements and is THE foundation of all other types of dancing. It comes back to your formal training in the end..

  • I really like this

  • Cool, but Black Swan really raised the bar with the whole lesbian vibe.

  • I would definitely say that ballet requires more discipline, if not more hard work. A ballerina has to be SO precise, and the lines have to be JUST so. But that doesn't mean hip hop has less merit. There's a lot more room for personal expression, and a certain kind of grace is required for it to even look decent.

Think of it like anime vs. realism; yes, a lot of people draw anime because they think it's easier, but you can tell when the really great ones have worked their butt off to be good.

  • A very inaccurate comparison.

  • hip hop and jazz aren't sloppy, they're just different types of dancing. hip hop is just as difficult as ballet, but in a different way because there are so many body isolations that you have to learn. both of the dancers are equally talented, and neither one is better than the other.

  • i liked the ballerina better until she started breakdancing :/ the breakdancer is very good but just not as interesting to watch.

  • ahah... this was so cute... =)

  • Ladies, settle down...Ill plow both of you.

  • i stummbled upon diz

  • I'm a ballet dancer, and I understand how long it takes to even master one movement. Although ballet is so discipline and precise, and Hip-hop is loose, they both worked hard for what they do, and they both love what they do. That ballet dancer put no more effort into her dancing than the hip-hop dancer. Think about that. No matter what you do whether its sport, dance, art etc.. they all worked so hard to get where they are.

  • @hollyp275 Hehe, thanks for your understanding. I am a popper for about 7 months now and I still have trouble with alot of moves. It's true that hip hop dance styles have moves that take lesser time to learn but if you want to perfect them and give it your own style then its still gonna take a few years to master it.

  • That was surprisingly cool.

  • @bboycontemporary thank you!! you're totally right. i was a ballerina for years, and i also "studied" hip hop. ballet takes years to really get a grasp of, much yet master. i appreciate both, but i would prefer to see someone really beat that shit up on the floor!

  • As someone whos done both, i'd have to agree that ballet takes a lot more work. In ballet my teachers always going around the class correcting peoples leg placement by millimetres, i rarely had anything like that in hip hop so i constantly felt like i was doing things wrong ahah. That said, i can totally understand why people prefer hip hop. You can just let loose and be yourself. It's very 'free', whereas in ballet you're concentrating on every move, even if it's just a step forward.

  • They're both beautiful. Great advertisement.

  • Does nike make anything for ballet even?

  • I dance both ballet and hip hop.. it's about the music and about dancing, no matter what style. just do it.

  • @fresiany It seems so many ballet dancers do hip hop, kind of unexpected. Half my friends from ballet also do hip hop, and i must save i did do a few classes before i started ballet

  • im a bboy myself and i have to say i really admire ballet and all the substyles. I tend to dislike hip-hop choreo because it can become very artificial and, in retrospective, very boring. Ballet shows the years of training and pain, not through choreo, but through a simple walking across the floor on toes.

I wanna see something like this again, only this time, instead of a plain hiphop dancer, show a bboy/popper/locker/etc. Someone with years of experience in the field.

    Peace to Ballet Dance

  • what is the song playing on this called?

  • @perrywinkle24 its "Prince Igor" by Endless Noise. There are about 5 other versions and remix's of this song! Its unbelievable! The original version is by the Russian mid-late 1800's composer, Alexander Borodin.

  • what is this song called?

  • you know, i think they should "just do it". those ladies, i mean.

  • i like ballerinas but i love hiphop dancers. they can easily express themselves with a good beat. yes you're right it takes years and years of practice to do what a ballerina does but oohh baby hiphop dancers can just bust a move and show lots of emotion. turns me on nah mean? in this video though there both incredibly talented and hot.

  • i dont know which one i am D:

  • @LaPerleDOr Oh honey, please don't ever say that, cuz it's never too late, I said the same thing almost a year ago (I was 16 then) because I wanted to dance, I thought I was too old but my dad convinced me to at least try dance classes, and it does take dedication and patience, but I am really progressing and I am so happy, if you really want to do something, do it. At least you'll know you tried. Some dancers may have years of training, but people like me have passion and that's what matters.

  • I'll never understand people. Just because one takes a higher intellectual discipline that does not mean that the expression, form is not unique, and beautiful. Respecting one art while slating another does not appreciate the divine human soul, expression, rather it taints its, and creates ugly ego, and complexes. I thought this video was brilliant, absolutely brilliant . Intellect is over rated, arts music, expression is beautiful and people should appreciate the beauty of expression.

    Peace.

  • @yodagreennutsack deep words from a man whose name is Yoda Green Nutsack.

  • O like the hip hop dancer better ive never really liked ballet the dancers seem fake but hey that's just my opinion

  • @misssupadork - I'm a dance teacher. Hip hop is the easy, sloppy, fake version of ballet. But hey that's just my opinion :p

  • @ErinDances5678 there is a lot of hip hop dancers with a lot of control and that do moves that are extremely hard to do

  • @stronger715 - I know that, believe me. I live in Miami. But because I've done both I still consider ballet tops the list of being the most difficult. My opinion judging from experience and observation.

  • @ErinDances5678 just depend of your level, you can do harder moves on hip hop or doing harder moves on ballet. You can t say one dance is harder than an other, but ballet is maybe harder to learn for being at the best level

  • Hahah i uv this ad

  • the bgirl is nothing like a raging monkey! she's good at wht she does! why do people hv to insult the hip hop dancer just cuz they're put next to a ballet dancer? i think each dance has it's level of difficulty...

  • @rufiredup90 i dance ballet, and i admire hip hop dancers...they move, like if they had electricity going trough their bodies, so careless, free, with such attitude, so strong...they are completely different to ballet dancers, with controlled movements, elegance, but i think both are strong in their own ways, like in "Carmen" for example a balleria needs to be strong and seductive, also in Kitri, same as hip hop dancers are "agressive", intense...dance is intense in every form and style

  • @SophieNeveudancer agreed. :)

  • Dancer vs Ballerina? They're both dancers!!!!!!!!!! :O

  • this balerina isjust gorgeous!!

  • i'd tap them...

  • what is the name of this some?

  • If that is Sofia Boutella, then they really wasted her talent by not letting her dance to her potential!

  • it took the ballerina 10-15 years to master those movements... it takes the average person about 10-15 weeks of classes to master hip hop choreography... thats why so many more people do hip hop and jazz... cuz it's the easy, sloppy version of ballet.

  • @NinjaTree6

The jest of the commercial was to respect both art forms. As for hip-hop being simple, the professional dancers I know have all gone to dance or gymnastics school and not for fifteen weeks or classes, but for 5-10 years! The dancers on the street, who can't afford $25,000 a year for lessons, practice every day for 7-10 years before they even make a Pepsi commercial. They create the moves that ballet dancers perform! So please stop belittling the art form because hip-hop is work!

  • @fredrika27 - To be fair, a lot of what you mentioned is true about hip hop dancers. BUT... they do not by any means "create the moves that ballet dancers perform." Totally incorrect.

  • @NinjaTree6

Hip-hop dancer in this commercial has nice moves, but I've seen women dancers who would embarrass the ballerina. At issue here is if the producer, director and casting director actually took the time to find qualified dancers. The young woman is good, but I know of dancers who can do Thomas flares and head spins. The powers that be only had to look on Youtube to find them: there are several good documentaries on female dancers and the world wide phenomena of the art form.

  • @fredrika27 aint all bout the power moves friend. Her style is pretty sick. She's pretty darn qualified imo at least.

  • @TripN3

She's good, but I've seen better. As the old saying goes, there is always someone better. As for the power moves, the ballerina poured it on, but I thought they held the hip hop dancer back just to make the ballerina look good. Just my opinion. . .

  • @fredrika27 Lol, i thought the same about the ballerina :D That certainly isn't the best ballet i've ever seen

  • @NinjaTree6 I agree! The reason there r not many ballet dancers is because it takes a lifetime 2 master. Sorry everyone, but almost anyone who wants 2 can learn 2 do hip-hop. I'm not saying u don't have 2 have skill 2 do hip-hop, But thats not enough for ballet, not only do u have to love it, but u have to have a natural talent. someone who cant pointe their feet when in the air, or can't move w/grace & take excrushiating pain will never b able to keep up with the demands of ballet.

  • @NinjaTree6 - I agree completely

  • @NinjaTree6 It's because Hip Hop uses the natural movements of the body and uses gravity as an assistant. Ballet is all about conforming to a predetermined "good" look, with lines and defiance of gravity. I mean, I have an enormous respect for good ballet dancers, but I feel like Hip Hop has its place. Also, don't call it a version of ballet. It's not. It takes elements, but it never claimed to be at all like ballet. So don't hate please

  • @NinjaTree6 you can't compare the two, the fact that you even try shows how little you know. Sure you can LEARN Hip hop pretty quickly, but if you had any clue you would know that it takes a lot of experience to get that little bit extra that makes you better. I'm not knocking down ballet, but you pretty quickly get sick of idiots trying to knock something they've prolly never tried. Being in the Marines only requires for you to have a gun, while a lawyer needs to go trough school < --Sarcasm-.-

  • Comment removed

  • @RapidK9 i CAN compare the two. i did both. ballet my whole life and hip hop for YEARS as well. i was extremely bored and under challenge with hip hop. there was nothing unique, or artful about it to me. i was even in an ensemble that performed in places like the orange bowl in Disney World before i quit. however, i'm STILL doing ballet, and i'm STILL learning, and it's till kicking my ass... thanks for insinuating though.

  • @NinjaTree6 if you really think hip hop is boring with nothing unique, and without difficulty, then you don t know anything about hip hop. and you have learned hip hop choreography ? lol this is NOTHING, there is a lot of style in hip hop extremely hard at the best level like popping and breakdance, and look what some hip hop dancers can do with their body now. Learn choreography is the most easy thing in dance

  • @NinjaTree6 Pff please everydance takes a time, of course ballet it's more discipline, both are art, both takes effort, years to master them and u have to do both whit passion. Jazz it's not easy, Jazz gives u tecnique, and it's very hard to master it. U can't compare them anyways, 2 diferent things. sorry whit bad grammar

  • @NinjaTree6 hate to tell you but thats a lie hun...i have been taking pointe for 3 years now and i can do all of those moves and if you learn jazz the correct way then it should take you just as long or longer but apparently you weren't taught corectly at your studio

  • @NinjaTree6 it took me a year to windmill and 6 months to halo

  • @NinjaTree6 It's still non the less a great style if your looking at al the sub styles like popping etc. Hip Hop dancing is ment for your own enjoyment & expression. Seeying from your opinion I can clearly state that your not a dancer at al.

  • @NinjaTree6 i agree with that, i even liked your comment :), but haha I don't think you completely understand the hip-hop because breakdance usually comes along with hip-hop and it might take even more time to master breakdance than ballet... i love ballet and i love urban dancing, i love dancing noone should give less credit to one dance because its different.

  • @NinjaTree6 You know Im a balletdancer, and all the dancers I know would never say what you say. Ballet is extremely hard and probably the hardest dance cause it hurts the most from all the styles, but that doesn't mean it's more easy- maybe it is but I wouldn't know, neither would you. You shouldn't judge a style you definitely don't master yourself. People do hiphop and jazz cause they love it and because they think it's beautiful. Try hiphop and be as good as this lady and then speak again.

  • @groovestufs

i took hip hop for several years, infact the artistic director of my studio threw me into the most advanced classes and the "ensemble" which performed in placed like DISNEY WORLD! and i eventually left because i was not being challenged, i found it boring, expensive and presumptuous.

  • @NinjaTree6 you learn hip hop in about 10-15 weeks. hahaha good one.... oh wait you are serious about that huh? just go and ask some of the worlds best hip hop dancers how long it took them. and you never master a dance. its a steady learning process even when you're at top level. reading your stuff makes me wonder if you even dance yourself...

  • @mercurydavid yes, with no prior experience in hip hop, i was able to learn and perform hip hop choreography with the other professionals after only a few months. not saying that there isn't a need for continuous practice in hip hop. i just feel that the standard for "advanced" in ballet is a whole different world in comparison to other forms of dance.

for example, i look at old ballet videos of myself and find 101 flaws. if i look at a video of dancing hip hop, i look just like everybody else.

  • @NinjaTree6 But dancing hiphop (or anything else, by the way) is different than that you're learning a choreo. To be maximally controlled on what you do in each dance style tooks a lot more time than a few weeks. Also I have to agree that if you have serious experience in basic technique, you can learn it faster. But you can't say that you learned it because it indicates that you know everything :)

  • @NinjaTree6 dont look at hip hop as just coreography dancing. there's so much more to it. you say you can learn anything from hiphop pretty fast unlike in ballet, but what do you think how much time would it take to learn breaking?? could you even master it? dont think so. im not saying ballet is not difficult though, but in breaking (which is part of hip hop) you need so much dedication to master it and you can easily hurt yourself seriously

  • Anastsiya Soboleva <3

  • in my opinion ballet is more beautiful

  • That is so awesome :)

  • Whats the name of the song ?

  • @Wunderkind31 harto y cansado- porta (instrumental)

  • @Wunderkind31 prince igor

  • DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMBBB!

  • ... They're BOTH dancers...

  • jst a wannabee

  • that ballerina cant hiphop but she can ballet wooww i would that i so good are ( sorry for my bad english i'm dutch ) youknow

  • how do i get the ballerina's outfit?

  • brilliant synchronization !!

  • i would say that if u mix ballet with hip hop u can have a very beautifull result..!!

  • wtf?^^

  • "Porta - Harto y cansado" uses this instrumental

  • ubisoft liked this randomly

  • @dervishofwin Yeah. Make they are making a ballet game or something...

  • Афигеть. Никогда не думал, что попаду на видео с русской рекламой NIKE, потому что пользователь ubisoft плюсанет этот видос.

  • They're both pretty! Especially the ballerina she loks russian

  • they shuda gt sofia boutella or babyson to do this the ballerina was dope tho

  • @artisticklown they shudve... but this is a russian commercial, and sofia boutella is not russian :P lol

  • I like both, but I like the ballerina more. Though she looks a little scary when she looks in the camera at th eend

  • Love it! The ballerina was stunning!

  • wow, echt geil!

  • It's sooo obvious that ballerina is much much better...And the song(Polovtsian dance) is beautiful!

  • beautifull i love ballet the battle is super

  • what's the name of the song? LOL))))

  • @Nastea3D Prince Igor

  • Every dance is unique and like a dancer you should respect all the dance forms=)

I love ballet but its fun to watch hip hop to=)

  • The ballerina is a beautiful dancer, but at the hip-hop bit where they were both dancing, she was bit stiff, but still great!

  • For those asking, the remix of the Borodin opera was created by original music company Endless Noise. The composed the hip-hop track and mashed it up with the original opera to create this track.

  • wow, can't decide theyre both amazing, the ballerina was GREAT I wish i was that good at ballet!

  • ballet wins here

  • aight cool cool... WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE BEAT AD?!!??!

  • what a nonsense,a ballerina is a dancer!

  • The ballerina wins.

  • Comment removed

  • it's a russian ballet

  • @bellcandy33 Wait, so.. if you start as a hip hop dancer you can not learn ballet, but if you start with nothing at all, you can certainly become a ballerina?

  • @bellcandy33 You are a dumb ass. Anybody can be anything they want if they try hard enough. What you said is false. However, ballet dancers could transfer or also do hip-hop and be good, as some of the things in ballet do help with hip-hop and although hip-hop is different, they can transfer in ballet and work at it and be a good ballerina. I had the best of two worlds, did hip-hop and ballet. :3

  • Isn't a ballerina a "dancer", too?!

  • stupid

  • Ballerina wins.

  • Who is the ballerina?

  • umm... I want that black shoes. I want to buy that exactly same shoes like her.

  • Wonderful CM

  • Sooooong please...;D

    it was cool...!!;d

  • @MegaMisiek1992 Hi!

This song is from the opera of "Prince Igor" ( by Borodin). But Warren G. made it with rap.

  • This was BATTLE!! =))
