The normal action in this case is to open the doors to release his leg and then hold the train, call the BTP and have him ejected and charged with obstructing the service and possibe assault to a member of staff. The driver should have held the train while the BTP arrived. He didn't, the bloke is a lucky man to have got away with this, if you try this on my train I will hold and have you ejected and possibly arrested if any assualt occurs.

Couldn't they have left the guy with his leg caught in the door after he assaulted the tube guard? The driver just could have held the train there until the police arrived, then opened the doors so he could be arrested. You might have thought the guards would have radio-links to the police.
the bloke was being a complete prick, sadly much as we would like to forcibly remove them we cant, yes it is easier to reopen the doors and let the twat on but can you imagine how many times on a friday night we have to do this before it gets beyond a joke, it is in fact an offence to obstruct the doors and we do have the legislation to fine up to £1000 or give a 6 month prison sentence but in all my 12 years on the job I have never heard of anyone even being charged let alone convicted

Its an Uxbridge train.... They come at least every 10 minutes, there was absolutely no need for that. Although, in fact, both the drunk person and the LU staff are in the wrong. 1) The drunk person should not have put his foot in the doors as they were closing 2) The doors can easily be re opened and shut again, it only takes about 5 seconds where as having an argument takes well over 1 minute.
