  • I'm sorry, but I think Diane Lane had the ugliest fucking hair in this movie. Besides that superficial shit the movie is actually pretty good.

  • "I need the money!"

Cookie will give it to ya!

    XD

  • this movie had a huge impact on my life. rock n roll!

  • Wow,cool chicas! I love the hair and makeup :)) ...gotta find this movie now!!!

  • This is an 80's cult classic--I first saw this on USA's Night Flight way back. Another good movie around this time was Breaking Glass. A few years after the Stains movie, Diane Lane was in Streets of Fire, which was somewhat more commercially successful. These days seem like a million years ago now.

  • i want to see these :( i cant find it online or download

  • Yes. All of it, yes.

  • Dang, Diane Lane was finger lickin' good back in the day!!!!

  • wtf, so it;s basically about some girl who needs money, so she steals this punk look and attitude to make it big?

  • LOVE this! I have the movie on DVD (not too great quality) and absolutely love it.

  • This story may have been based on the Runaways, but the it's way better than the Runaways movie.

  • @TbagFM They are way cooler than the Runaways. The Runaways look was based on guys - these chicks are all girls.

  • @TbagFM Um there was other all girl punk bands in 1970s not just the Runways. There was the Slits (Which I think would have been more of an inspiration for this movie than the Runaways if it was inspired by a punk band), X-Ray Specs (not sure if I spelled that correctly) and many more. The Stains do not look or even sound like the Runaways they are just compared because they are women in a band. It is also sad that no one knew about a great band like the Runaways until the fucking movie.

  • @bruiseviolet05 And there's also other girl bands, that were the pioners, in the case of the Beat sub-genre and in all Rock history of Girl bands for example The Liverbirds and MAYBE there were Rock'N'Roll bands with just girls in the 50's.

  • @modquadrophenia1964 I had never heard of the Livebirds I will have to check them out. It just frustrates me that everybody assumes that the Runaways were the first all girl band. Goes to show that people don't really take the time to look up women in rock. GirlSchool was another all girl band from the seventies...I think they might have pioneered the all girl metal band.

  • @bruiseviolet05 Uh huh, GirlSchool in N.W.O.B.H.M. and in punk there were also The Slits, and in the Beat sub-genre there were The Liverbirds: look for the song Peanut butter, or Too much monkey businness that was a cover, here on YouTube. There were other female bands in the 60's that played Garage-Rock but I don't know the names. You can search for "60's female garage rock bands" here on YouTube and you will find them. Cheers from México!!!!

  • I watched this movie today. It was very enjoyable to watch During the concert you see in the movie trailer was shot at coquitlam centre near Vancouver, BC. You can see the exteriors and the original interiors. That mall was built in 1979 and the movie was shot in 1981. it was interesting to see the Woodward's sign on the exterior of the mall. The mall looks very different now but the trademark ceiling is still very recognizable.

  • I just saw this movie like an hour ago and it's like whoa shit!! Nvr heard of it but it the greastest fucking movie ever!! Tomarrow Ima get that same hair do third degree burns has by my cuz who's a hairstylist!! Fuck best movie ever no doubt wonder y it doesn't have a shit load of attention like sixteen fucking candles?? It better then that fake shit (sorry!)

  • i saw this on vh1... shit, it's got to be 15 years ago. maybe even a little longer. took me all this time to find out the name damn movie.

  • this movie is obviously based on the runaways and even the slits

  • EPic movie

  • go-gos

  • i've got to see this soon!

  • omg i've been looking for this movie for years!!!!!!!!!

    thank you for posting!

    xo Pam, Kelli's mom

  • this movie deserves more credit & more viewers. back dropped by rock & rolls evilution and a D.I.Y. attitude this film is a blueprint to the dependent & the non, the abused becomes abuser, consumed & consumer, how your viewed by others changes you. the military & the media manipulation machines.

buying and selling your soul as you try to be an individual and run with the pack @ the same time. can you be yourself under the influence of the people your trying to impress and down right like?

  • It wasn't that bad, if you like those 80s band epics. I don't see why everyone thinks it's so terrible. I utterly enjoyed it, and Diane Lane was cute as hell, and had some really kickass hair.

  • diane lane is cool

  • Awesome movie!! :) :)

  • i must see this movie.

  • You should. It's great :)

  • Jesus!! The leading actress is Diane Lane??? Wow, she was gorgeous!!! Well, she still is a very pretty woman! I wish I could see this film..

  • This was on TCM last night.

  • OMG no I missed it! I had to order this today on amazon... it's a good movie.

  • aww this movie is cute

  • Amazing movie.

  • Okay, soooooo where's this advertised soundtrack that is supposed to now be available according to the trailer??

If anyone knows any rumors about what happened to its release, or where to find the freakin' thing, please reply.. Thanxx!. Call me skunk!

  • The soundtrack to the film was planned, but it couldn't be cleared for release.

  • i have the OST for this movie

    if you want it

  • I want it! rhino never did release it like they said they would!

  • They did but most retailers weren't interested in carrying it. You can probably still find copies through online sellers, or a good used DVD store.

  • @tonyvaguely did you check rhino dot com?

  • @tonyvaguely The soundtrack was on itunes for a matter of hours before it was yanked. I found it for download on soulseek, so id say try there!

  • awesome English teacher showed us this movie!

  • cool teacher

  • Very beautiful movie with amazing Diane Lane

  • wow cool, i remember this movie when it came out. ok, how/where do i get it on dvd. pls let me know, and yes it needs to be as clean as the original ^^ thanx

  • That girl is freaking gorgeous. Can't wait til the DVD finally arrives.

  • gotta love tmc underground

  • It was on TCM or AMC last Friday night-- it's crappy, but good.

  • I guess it depends on what you mean by "crappy". Here's the thing, this film stands out as a precursor to all the media outlets trying to make a buck; a lot of posers. This film was made before MTV ever really became popular (1981) MTV only became a huge phenomenon, I think it's a great film to show as a marker in pop culture. It's a lot more significant now with all the wannabe punk bands, and pop princesses out there.

  • I finally got to see it on DVD last night. Timeless classic for rock/punk music fans of all ages.

  • I masturbated in her little black shorts back in 1981. I was an extra on the set.

  • Ohh, ohh, hoo!! Way to go you prison bound creep! Maybe someday soon somebody will get a chance to jerk off into YOUR under garments while you cry into your pillow, praying for parole! "We don't put out!" You will or you'll get your sorry ass beat down real good by a bunch of fellas who could care less about your illustrious "movie career". Ya simp!

  • Prison rape is not a laughing matter. Asshole.

  • did u really? haha this movie was the bomb and madonna became very big soon after. . . hmm, go figure

  • i've heard great things about this film, and now i want to see it!!!

  • is paul cook on this film??

  • yeah, he plays the drummer

  • My mother has been going on about this movie for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS, always griping about how she couldn't find it on VHS or DVD anywhere. Finally, I got it for her for Christmas last year, and I got to see what she was going on about. I think it's really good! If it were made today, people would be all over it (provided that they had the same stellar casting). I can't understand why this film slunk into obscurity...

  • whats the song at :22 and where can i find it?

  • Is this possibly the best movie ever made???????

  • Uh, yeah!?

  • Yeah, 16 y.o. Diane Lane, 15 y.o. Laura Dern... plus members from the Clash, Sex Pistols, The Tubes... directed by Lou Adler! I forgot how many times I watched this movie back in the 80s (on cable). Then it disappeared for almost two decades due to licensing issues. Just released on DVD, I finally got to see it again the other day. I amazed myself at the fact that I knew all the dialogue. A must see for PUNK/INDIE music (and indie film) fans.

  • Is that Diane Lane? dirrtty..

  • Ray Winstone!!

  • Ray Winstone... so sexy, back then and nowadays!! Always gorgeous.

  • Oima Daddy Naw!

  • I love it too! I am a new fan! I am 38 yrs old and I am quite ashamed to say I never knew this film existed until a couple of months ago. I'm going to buy the DVD. I LOVE IT!!!! :-)

  • i just saw this last night and loved it!!!!
