1:40 is about 4 blocks from my home. <3 the Plateau <3
BTW I am fully bilingual and imo ppl can speak whatever they want, don't wonna learn french? No big deal, it will help you get around but I don't resent ppl for not wanting to learn a new language. Particularly one as difficult as French. Live and let live. We live by those words in this city, and it should extend to languages too. Freedom at it's finest = Montreal
I'm going to Montreal in a couple of months and cannot wait...I've been learning french for 5 years. I hope I will be able to understand quebecois accent....Love Canada!!!!
You know, i'm a Quebecer i speak french and in my opinion, i don't hate english speakers at all. Lol i can understand i mean we have been learning english too and it wasnt easy and sometimes, we are just too lazy to try to speak it but when you make the effort to speak what you know of french it's really cool even if you just say ''Merci'' or ''Bonjour'' it just shows respect ! :)
I took french course and now I speak a little french:) as for me, as french is official language of Montreal and the major language in Quebec, everybody should respect that, and do their best to learn french even if they don't like it, otherwise live somewhere else, in Ontario etc....
Great video. My brother and I visited Montreal for the first time in 2007 and loved it so much that we returned last year. Great people. Great and unique city. Never felt slighted because we spoke English. Cops always polite and helpful. Felt safe even downtown after 11 at night. We plan on returning to our beloved Montreal many times in the coming years. Thanks for a cool video.
thing twice, it is very poor and hard to get jobs. the french are very racist toward outsiders taking their jobs..also the police will harass you and give you repeated fines, and if you don't pay, your hotel room will be jail, and maybe a beating by montreal police.. so think twice.
I too am moving to Montreal, but when I have enough money saved up. If you are determined to make it, then I suggest you save up enough money beforehand so that you can take French language courses. If you take a look at online job ads, plenty of them are in French or ask that you be bilingual. You will be much more successful if you learn French.
If you are canadian citizen or Quebec resident, you can take french course for free, full time or part time and even you can get financial add. I took it gonna start soon. Can't wait.
Montreal's underclass is often the victim of police brutality. Do they show you this in the tourist brochures and videos? And talk about racist. Have you lived in Montreal? You'll find out fast how much they hate English speaking people.
Really? That's not entirely true. This is all based on very isolated incidents. If you base yourself on the headlines of le Journal de Montreal that's what it will seem like. I've lived here since I was born. I do all my business in English and when I go to the store I'm served in English. People are at least polite and merchants know the value of tourists. I've never seen shit in the metro or anything else you described. If you don't like it here go to NYC.
Montreal is no longer an hospitable city to English speaking people, unless you stay in one of the huge hotels, then yes, they will speak to you in English. Elsewhere you feel very offended by the anit-English insults you don't hear because it is said in French. Montreal has got to be th dirtiest city in Canada. Shit in the Metro, filthy graffitti and trash fills the trains on public transit.
The street of downtown Montreal are teeming with an underclass, often the victim of police brutality. The streets are littered with trash, and auto brekins are rampant, so don't drive, if you are coming from the USA.
I remember this restaurant out away from the city a bit. The food we encountered in Montreal was uniformly delicious. Here we ate out on the patio and were treated to a great lunch. Thanks for watching my video.
I am from Pickerington, Ohio and we were visiting Montreal before heading to Prince Edward County for the Canadian Tandem Rally. Thanks for checking out my video.
i love this city. my mother is from Montreal and my grandparens still live there. although we now live in Nova Scotia, we visit them a lot. im partial to Halifax as my number one, but my number two most beautiful city is definitely Montreal, followed closely by Niagara Falls.
Hi! we finally here in Montreal from our road trip.......it took us 8 days to crossed from B.C. beautiful place, lovely people.....I'd probably stay ........
What a great video. Born & raised in Montreal, I adore my city. Great job!!!
...As for ignorrant & vulgar comments made by IH8QUEBEC ...PEOPLE: Do not pay any attention to that fool. He is simply an uneducated, sad, lonely and bitter person. Dosn't even live here...lives in Alberta...No wonder he is so bitter and sad...Poor soul :(
Montreal is beautiful and people who visit, love our city!
hey hey hey! I live in Alberta, Edmonton to be specific and I love montreal. I think it's one of the most vibrant and cultured cities in Canada, or even north america..... Not that I don't enjoy living in edmonton.
The thought that all westerners dislike quebec is a myth, we admire the entire province as I hope you admire ours. Canada is one country, not 13 different countries.
We climbed Mont Royal via the road to the top like any other bike. Though we can't stand on the pedals we just spin in a low gear and climb away. The views at the top are worth the effort. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful and bike friendly city. We hope to return some day for more adventures.
We found it to be a wonderful town to explore sur la bicyclette. The people were very friendly and the food was amazing from the fanciest restaurant to the small family owned places. Thanks so much for watching my video!
Thanks Kzfzn! I'm really glad you liked the music and the video.

I've never had a problem with that. I don't speak french at all and it's ok.

Its because people in Montreal ( like me) are enough smart to know that its important to speak english. Even if we are proud to speak french!

@MrsBonny Kudos for saying that! Even some Montrealers don't even care to learn/speak French. This is one of the reasons why I hate Montreal.
