Yes Sir. There is a constant voltage to the track with digital command control and the chip in each locomotive tells it how fast to go among other things (like lights, sound etc.)
hey uhhh do you have to keep cleaning the track? becouse i see other models and some of the tracks have rust, is that an effect or is it actual rust that needs to be cleaned.
Thanks Leo , The caboose housed the crew and was used to observe the trains consist as the train moved. They usually were looking for HOT BOXES , meaning greased wheel bushings that had gone dry of lube and would generally start to smoke and eventualy seize and derail the train. The crew would also do paper work and often rotate sleep there.
They are popular because in early railroading EVERY train had one and they are just plain COOL!
Impressive!

Question, please? Where/who makes modern era vehicles for N scale? My issue is more for cars than trucks. Love the updates.
Na69Mach1 1 year ago
Atlas makes a few and some by GHQ and on Ebay you may find some Euro and Japan types.

@mrfifer how do you get such a large layout? i cant even get a 4x8 over here. My basement its stuffed with boxes and useless crap.

Mike, what kind of pet bird do you have?? I can hear him(her) in the background. kind of makes the layout sound like it's outside!! ( :
HoosierLine 2 years ago
No pet bird , It is a background CD of the desert.
Thanks , Mike

I still think that's a neat sound effect as it added ambiance to your layout

No , it is painted rust to weather the rail and the rail tops are cleaned to allow for conductivity.

Hi,
Nice layout. What is the funtion of a caboose? It seems to be a populair car with scale railroaders. Are they still in use today?
