@BDF5K That sort of thing doesn't exist much in the US anymore. It was the backbone of American TV in it's heyday where a local station might have it's own mascot and all that, but after several decades that sort of thing just died out along with any real local identity a station might have when there is more of a push at network recognition that appears to be non-present in Japanese TV.
@kksolanet It's interesting that there is some sort of network system in Japan though there's still more emphasis on locality and promotional identity by the local stations that has since been practically gone in the US.

I wonder what happens after that on HTB? Do we go to BBC News (24) till 6am (Tokyo/Seoul/Adelaide Standard time), or do we see a white screen?

Japanese TV stations don't relay BBC News (except for Chiba TV, near Tokyo).
After the opening, you can see the TV Shopping Show, followed by the nationwide morning show by TV ASAHI, Tokyo because HTB joins Asahi News Network.

ＡＢＣ・メ〜テレ・ＫＢＣ(福岡)との仲は友好的とされますが、テレ朝系５大局の中で唯一のＵＨＦ局３５ｃｈです
(フジテレビ系のＵＨＢ北海道文化放送２７ｃｈも同様です。
ＴＢＳ系５大局は５局ともにＶＨＦ、
日テレ系５大局は中京テレビ放送３５ｃｈとＦＢＳ福岡放送３７ｃｈがＵＨＦとなっています)。

ＨＴＢ北海道テレビ放送は言わずと知れた水道局です。
テレ朝系ではＡＢＣ朝日放送の宮津中継局と同じアナログ３５ｃｈ(札幌手稲山親局、函館基幹中継局、帯広基幹中継局)、
地デジ６ｃｈ(全道共通)です。
１局目でＴＢＳ系の北海道放送が１ｃｈを、
２局目で日テレ系の札幌テレビ放送が５ｃｈを地デジに引き継いだため
ＨＴＢは準キー局ＡＢＣと同じ地デジ６ｃｈを獲得しました
(同系列で地デジ６ｃｈのメ〜テレ、
日テレ系で地デジ５ｃｈの福岡放送も同様です)。
