Oh man! I'm classically trained, but I really wanna be able to shred like that. I'm almost as fast as him, been playing for about 15 years.
That solo at the end, anyone know what scale(s) he's running? I only know classical scales and modes (major, harm. and mel. minor, chromatic, aeolian, phrygian etc.). Could someone tell me the scale and/or point me in the right direction to learn more?
The gift of "musicial ability" is related to the joy you have of playing, learning, creating and discovering. It's like playing sports. If you don't enjoy it, you could never be as could as you could at something you liked.
My brother tries to be as musical as I am. And I'm not that musicial, but he doesn't relish the challenge, he just wants to be as good as everyone else in the shortest possible time. He doesn't enjoy the other side to the music. Getting good at what you do.
nobody gives a "gift" or whatever you called it, You must work hard, have passion, and love to excel in something, talent it's all these elements together, nothing more.
Well, some people learn slower than others, some people just cant learn what others can, some people is a lot faster than others, some people are.. Well, I can go on for a long while...
How do you explain that?
Btw, I dont mean to insult you either, I'm just curious. :)

thats not what talent is. talent is something you're born with... somehow i was good at the drums the first time i ever picked up sticks. i could play beats that people who were taking lessons couldn't for some reason, and i can memorize the drum part of a song just by listening to it a few times. after six years of lessons, i have merely nurtured what was there to begin with ;).
I didn't insult anyone or said that Jordan is crap, I know jordan in real and we talked very much about this argument and he know what I think about and told me that I'm right, you don't have any idea how much Jordan has worked hard. I'm a pro pianist with a degree in the conservatory and a multi-instrumentist so calm down, I'm not a noob.
I'll explain myself better, the talent you talk about (not need to insult people it's just that I'm right, I love also Jordan's playing style but it's not an alien) it is in the dedication to the instrument, you CAN'T play if you don't practice, you don't need anything else thatn practice, love and passione for the music. Why someone express a right opinion all people reply in a non polite way
Man, you're always watching the same videos as me. And, yeah, those samples are great, or at least, what Jordan does with them is. I just can't wait 'til I buy myself a real synth.

i guess hes playing a little altered blues scale...with pitch bending and good skill you can make excellent solos with blues scales..
zslivonj 3 years ago
it's the pentatonic scale plus a blues note and the 7th and 6th grades of the minor scale
Sorry for the english.

Talent is just practice, even Steve Vai admits his skill is just pure practice.

True Talent is something you're born with, but you will not get any where unless you practice.
