  • LOL, how impressive

  • freaking wow

  • jordan rudess hasn't played a single note wrong since 1982.... he was blindfolded and was sitting on a beehive

  • @ 1:31 Jordan looks like "HOLY SHIT, NOT THIS AGAIN!" Then he kills everyone with his kickass lead :D

  • Pigmy-Lead Music!!!!

  • ... ... ... ... *O.O*

  • What's the kind of pedal he uses?

  • when he kick the pedal I almost jumped off my seat, god

  • @drkmonkey7 same here!

  • Hair

  • he has take off just like a shuttle....lol

  • that is pure creativity...

  • mind destruction

  • he goes into a whole other world when he goes into lead mode lol.

  • *lol* I couldn't have said it better myself. It's like he zones out and just...he's gone! The keyboard ninja!

  • is this played with kurzweil?

  • im guessing yeah

    why?

    hes hair xD

its like hes hair marks his age/time/keyboard LOL

  • yes. he is playing on a kurzweil 2500x or a 2600

  • Actually neither one, it's a K2600XS.

  • the guy is impressive

  • Jordan Ruddess ACTION FIGURE !

    Hug the keyboard man...

  • He is GOD

  • WTF?!!

  • damn that's pretty impressive

  • Oh man! I'm classically trained, but I really wanna be able to shred like that. I'm almost as fast as him, been playing for about 15 years.

That solo at the end, anyone know what scale(s) he's running? I only know classical scales and modes (major, harm. and mel. minor, chromatic, aeolian, phrygian etc.). Could someone tell me the scale and/or point me in the right direction to learn more?

  • i guess hes playing a little altered blues scale...with pitch bending and good skill you can make excellent solos with blues scales..

  • it's the pentatonic scale plus a blues note and the 7th and 6th grades of the minor scale

    Sorry for the english.

  • oh, o.k. thanks guy.

  • Thanks, professor. You wish you had a fraction of this guy's talent.

  • When he's playing the look at how defined his forearms are. Holy shit!

  • 1,2,3,4 OH NOES WTF :-O

    minds well bust a lead

  • What keyboard is it???

  • Kurzweil K2600XS

  • Jordan Rudess is great! i can play the piano but not like him so im gona take more lessons rofl

  • The gift of "musicial ability" is related to the joy you have of playing, learning, creating and discovering. It's like playing sports. If you don't enjoy it, you could never be as could as you could at something you liked.

My brother tries to be as musical as I am. And I'm not that musicial, but he doesn't relish the challenge, he just wants to be as good as everyone else in the shortest possible time. He doesn't enjoy the other side to the music. Getting good at what you do.

  • nobody gives a "gift" or whatever you called it, You must work hard, have passion, and love to excel in something, talent it's all these elements together, nothing more.

  • Well, some people learn slower than others, some people just cant learn what others can, some people is a lot faster than others, some people are.. Well, I can go on for a long while...

    How do you explain that?

Btw, I dont mean to insult you either, I'm just curious. :)

  • isnt "talent" something that is already inside you?

  • Talent is just practice, even Steve Vai admits his skill is just pure practice.

  • True Talent is something you're born with, but you will not get any where unless you practice.

  • I didn't insult anyone or said that Jordan is crap, I know jordan in real and we talked very much about this argument and he know what I think about and told me that I'm right, you don't have any idea how much Jordan has worked hard. I'm a pro pianist with a degree in the conservatory and a multi-instrumentist so calm down, I'm not a noob.

  • I'll explain myself better, the talent you talk about (not need to insult people it's just that I'm right, I love also Jordan's playing style but it's not an alien) it is in the dedication to the instrument, you CAN'T play if you don't practice, you don't need anything else thatn practice, love and passione for the music. Why someone express a right opinion all people reply in a non polite way

  • Every other member of the band was born some decades ago,he was born at the beginning of time :P He rocks(although I don't like Dream Theater)

  • this is talen and practice...he is a piano genius..

  • What the fuck?!

  • this is also talent..

  • youre stupid. seriously.

  • he heh (at the end)

  • I must be an alien, I can find no other answer...

  • He is an alien...for real, where does Jordan Rudess's talent END?!

  • This guy just rocks on his keyboard, I love his work as a soloist and in DT

  • Amazing!!

  • Yes, it's the second part of the Scenes From New York solo.

  • It's not the budokan solo, it's the solo from "Scenes from New York".

  • at 1:27 it looked like something compelled him to press that key and he was like "wtf?!"

  • rofl yeah that didn't look planned

  • Must've been though cus he hit the right key (the one triggering the sample of the guy saying "1, 2 , 3, 4!"

  • i gotta find some samples!!! lool! X-D

  • Man, you're always watching the same videos as me. And, yeah, those samples are great, or at least, what Jordan does with them is. I just can't wait 'til I buy myself a real synth.

  • me too. I wish I had enough to by the OASYS, or at least a Kurzweil!

  • Sooo cool lol. JR rocks like no other!

  • the famous Budokan solo! yes!

  • HAHAHA... Love this video!

  • This man is freaking AWESOME. I love this!
