  • Do they sell Mojitos there? If they do I know where I'm retiring :)

  • Awesome!

  • Did they really make the first steel drums out of oil barrels

from drilling companies looking for oil in the islands, or is

    that a tall tale?

  • Oh, Lord, take me to Mr. Busby's on a Sunday night so I can listen to this beautiful music and drink coke and Canadian Mist. Love this!!!

  • I for one cannot understand how a Trinidadian and Tobagonian instrument suddenly becomes a Caribbean instrument. From Movies to Game its about time Trinidad and Tobago got its due credit for being the creators of this wonderful instrument!

  • @blue1991dbes you are sooo right! trindad and tobago or trinbago created this musical instrument so the country should get its due.

  • @blue1991dbes Possibly because Trinidad and Tobago is in the Caribbean.

  • @blue1991dbes how did the congo drum become a latin instrument???

  • Cool, I love the steelpans!

  • I am a trini althogh Ive only been there once with my father who is full trini

  • i wanna hear music remixed with these instruments they sound the best :D

  • What is the title of this song?

  • slow day wasn't it

  • i feel like i'm in hawaii

  • @luveedoves43 exactly or in jamaica or the bahamas somewher!

  • Yeah, I would also come to moan and piss about my fucking life - I love that steel drums -and he does it very very well - nice, soft, he is a very good musician - can be play in an opera hall - but, no - this is not the right ambiente - there are all the people who are boared from their lives - maybe one day I get the kick and leave Germany - for what - for having some nice last years - before I leave or the world leaves us and we are leaving too -

  • ITS CARRIBEAN MUSIC THAT ORIGINATES FROM AFRICA

  • @chocolatebooty81 no it originated from Trinidad and Tobago my dear. Im a trinbagonian and I play the steel pan.

  • @JRDN058 /watch?v=_3d6-3BjY0g

  • @JRDN058 White pan player right here, come from a well respected steelband, and definitely know guys with talent.

  • Interesting to note that the steel drums known intimately as steel pan originated from Trinidad and Tobago, my neighbor island. It began as a form of revolt against the plantation owners. They took the old drums to knock intending to make noise and found music.

  • @Godrick34 I think it was maybe because they wanted to play the music they had back in Africa check out Youtube video "Akwa Abasi Ibom State: Children's Cultural Display"

  • niggzz got sick chune man

  • This is to me the most relaxing music that I have ever heard... I love the steel pans !!! I am getting 2 and learning how to play them !! Such an awesome instrument to play beautiful music ...

  • sounds like MONKEY ISLAND !!

  • Please, somebody in St.Martin tell this guy to put some steel drum to the beautiful 2nd song (it starts at 4:10) in the Youtube video entitled: Night of the Proms 2009 OMD Maid of Orleans und ein stück Souvenir in HD.

With a touch of a couple of gentle caribbean steel drums in the backgound, it would be perfect!

  • Hey Osean, do you really think I give a shit about what you think or owe you any kind of explanation.

By the way, You sound just like one of those miserable American's I am talking about. And while you are on your way to your job at McDonalds I will be hoisting the sails and getting underway with a case of Corona. And here is a geography lesson for you. The US Virgin Islands are exactly that. Maybe you need to get over that cocky god damn Asian attitude of yours.

  • For all you people under 30 living the corporate BS lifestyle pack it in now and just move to the Islands because you will just get burned out, used up, and discarded.

Fortunately for me I pulled out at 33. Made my money and ran. Now I am a charter boat captain in the Islands drinking cocoanut juice, eating fresh fish and listening to all the American's who come here piss and moan about their lives...lol.

  • @IngloriusBastard11 That's amazing :) I shall have to try that...after I finish my culinary degree maybe I could get a job at a beachfront restaurant...

  • @IngloriusBastard11 i think your kind of a dumb ass, because you clearly live in the US according to your profile, and people live a bull shit life cause they make it that, so i think you shouldnt say stupid shit like this cause if i were you id probably never be on my computer, more specifically youtube

  • @IngloriusBastard11

    WAY TO GO!!!!!!!

  • @IngloriusBastard11 Gosh nowadays I thought no matter what country you're in it would be plagued with hip hop. Even though in 1986 rock n' roll music was illegal in Malaysia.

  • This dude is the Wes Montgomery/George Benson of the Steel drum.

  • Live'n da life in da Islands man. We should all just quit our jobs and get out of here and tell Corporate America to go to hell. Who do you think is really happier? The man with all the money bowing to the man every day, or a person living in the Islands?

When I was in the Navy I travelled all through the Caribbean and loved it. It's a whole different life style.
