i'm not a romantic but when i see GREAT EXPECTATIONS, i see the most unic romantic movie ever and i'm a man, i like amores perros, 300, band of brothers, clint swood... sadly i'm the onlyone that apreciate it around here as far as i know.
An amazing film maker, all the way back to A Little Princess ... though his best work is obviously Children of Men ... Sadly, Cuaron and Del Toro are the more talented here. I tried so hard to get into Babel and 21 Grams, but the emotional core of the films did not strike me as hard as say "Devil's Backbone" or "Y tu Mama Tambien" but either way, this interview was brilliant.
"Ideology is a wall between communication and people." Best thing I've heard all year. Fuck the Right and the Left. It's time to dump these fringe fucks and find common solutions to our problems.
@olivemike81 a plesant fantasy but i'll never happen my friend, remember lennon imagine all the people, or what happen to socrates... we humans are something to be surpass and forgotten our fears are hereditary and so our vanity and sefishness, sad but is the way it is.
He didn't even direct Pan's Labyrinth. And even so, how can you say it's unoriginal and uninspired? The movie is based on the theme of magical realism. If anything, you were looking for a movie that wasn't there. If you knew anything about magical realism in latin cinema then you would have seen that the movie is a gem and a beautiful ode to that genre...
Nobody thinks he did a bad job on Harry Potter. I've never heard that anywhere. I've only ever heard anyone suggest it was the best.
And I'm glad they only stick forks in each other's salad. Almost a Charlie Rose exclusive about what else might go one between these three. (That's a gay joke -- wink.)
As a Harry Potter fan, I can easly say that "HP and the prisoner of Azkaban" is the best of all the HP movies. In addition, whoever has not seen "Y Tu Mama tambien," does not know what they are missing...
He did a fantastic Job in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.Probably the best Harry Potter film. And Children of Men was increible. The best film of the year.
He's rapidly becoming my favorite director. I've seen all five of his most famous movies (A Little Princess, Great Expectations, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban, and Children of Men), and they are all some of the most beautiful, gutsy, and exquisitely directer films I have ever seen.
The guy's a genius. And Children of Men is the best of those three films, I think.
I think a lotta people hate him because films one and two of Potter didn't diverge at all from the print, whereas he came in and said, "We're taking this out, this out, this out, this out, changing this, making this darker, adding this little bit, and oh are little people too much? Well...we'll just do this instead."
"HP and prisoner of azkaban" is the best made of the hp movies!! it is the most critically aclaimed as well as styistically meticulate unlike the rest of the more shallow hp movies...he's the best...the first two films were terrible.

Another great Mexican director is Salvador Carrasco. I recommend his film "The Other Conquest," a great, intelligent cousin to "Apocalypto."

HE COMPLETELY DESTROYED THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN BOOK. He should be sent to Azkaban for that X(

yet it was one of the creator´s favourite one.

Are you kidding?
PoA is the best Harry Potter movie yet.
I loved the OotP book, but Yates destroyed it.
Cuarón knows how to create a magic and dark universe, perfect for Potter, so, he should direct the last movie.
Alfonso es el mejooorrr!!!

Wow, who thinks that? I thought he did a great job on Azkaban. And Children of Men is fantastic.

Probably the HP freaks who wanted every word in the book to be in the movie and because he cut out too much they think the movie sucks.
(I'm a Potter fan, btw)
