  • hows he doing?

  • hey where can i get a turtle like dat

  • TheTurtleLover09 big lie ive had my sliders with my softshell for years

  • does anyone know if a soft shell is compatible with sliders???

  • @late2ourfuneral They are nt compatible. Softshell will kill the slider

  • @HolyBombOfDeath fine gravel works about just the same. Just harder to find at pet stores.

  • awesome:)

  • awesome:)

  • im trying to have one, my yellow belly and red ear and map turtle is not too unique.

  • Wow, i've never seen a soft shell turtle this colour. Its beautiful! Is it uncommon gene? Or a completely different species?

  • @charzarg its pretty normal

  • @feenin4u247 oh okay, what type of softshell is it then?

  • @charzarg dude its Apolone ferox. Anyway there are variances in color but this color isn't that rare. Anderson's flapshell turtles are aweomse if you can see one or fly river turtles as well. Check out my video Ill post it as a response here.

  • @feenin4u247 oh, i've never even heard of it, I don't really know much about turtles to be honest, thanks! :)

  • i have a turtle exactly like that that i found on the side of the road in the gutter so i decided to take him home and i put him in my oscars tank and bought him a floating log and he loves it i feed mine minnows thouhg and he gladfully eats them:D

  • is your soft shelled turtle black if it was that would be cool message me back if you have time!

  • thats the coolest softshell i saw im defenetly getting 1 i have a eastern spiny softshell turtle his name is crush.how much was ur little guy.and for sand make sure u get a nice color not a dark 1 i had blue and i never saw him.and your in 4 a huge pain in the ass with cleaning if u get sand i changed 2 gravel and he loves it and its easy 2 clean

  • @bornstarr128 you guys have any recommendations for the smallest soft shell species? I'd keep them if they didn't get so big.

  • this looks like a "gulfside" softshell. yes, they can get almost sea turtle sized. florida softshells are much more sensitive and hard to keep than chinese or spiny shells. no idea why - it just seems like they die a lot easier. these ones do need to bask...which is kind of strange, because many softies never leave the water.

  • where did u buy it

  • beautiful animal

  • Awesome, i never seen a yellow and black soft shell turtle b4...it looks like a pokemon. xD

  • do these guys get big?

  • whut is he eating

  • blood worms

  • Change the substrate in your tank!!!! Softshell turtles live in fine sand and mud. They also require a large, dry basking area with a UV Heat bulb to maintain proper thermoregulation and vitamin absorption.

  • thanks .........i really like florida soft shells they are so cool. just want them to survive . my spinysoftshell survives and the rest my turtlezs do 2 ....do you haave any turtles ????/ oh yeah and thanks again for da info

  • nic video i jus wanted to know what do you do to care for your florida soft shell because every time i get one he dies ???? i have all sorts of turtles and they all liive even mmy spiny soft shell survives but the florida soft shell always dies on me plz someone help

  • My brother was outside an hour ago and noticed something moving on the floor... they were 2 soft shell turtles which was being eaten alive by ants. He grabbed them and brought it inside to be clean it off. Well know it has gone from 2 turtles saved to 12 turtles!!!! I don't know what to do know. I am afraid if I put them in the lake other animals will kill them... does anyone have any suggestions what I can do. They are too many to keep

  • You could buy a big enough tank put in some sand and water. I bought one last week and found out that they reach adulthood in a year. So you can keep them for a year, after that, release all of them into the lake. Don't worry then, they can bite a person's finger off with the strong hidden teeth they have if they feel threatened so... a family of 12 softshell turtles in a lake? Nothing will stop them mofo's. They make turtle soup here in asia, the biggest one i've seen was like 34"

  • just look for a pond or lake father away and let them loose there!

  • The lake is the best spot for them. There are far less predators in the lake than on land where they spend little time.

I would suggest you put them back there.

  • was it a reptile store where you bought it?

  • wtf is wrong with its mouth

  • That is a beautiful turtle. You really should give him some substrate

  • I have a red eared slider and a map turtle in a 65 gallon tank. I used to have a soft shelled turtle too just not the florida soft shelled ones, I had the green ones. Today I got 2 baby soft shelled turtles that are the size of nickels. They have orange under bellys and its cute watching them search for food. They are already smart at a few weeks old to be able to find their food and eat it.

  • adorable where did you get him

  • I got him at a pet store in pico rivera but its now closed

  • @toxxiclogic How big is he now?

  • how big is it now

  • better hope that ends up being boy

  • it needs sand they like to bury there selves

  • I know huh??? and now that you bring it up im going to change over:) what color do you think I should use?

  • wen i was 11 i wached this vid, now i wached it today and im 13! (long time no wach)

  • WOW!!! thats really awsome to hear, thats cool that your into turtles, do you have any?

  • i have a baby one of these and there awsome , so cute

  • really wow thats really cool, were did you get your at?

  • what kind softshell is this?

  • I was told it was a hybrid Florida softshelled turtle. There really nice turtles right?

  • alpalone ferox- a.k.a the florida softshell

  • one of my neighbors had a turtle like that once, but he let it go after two months, the turtle was born in the lake behind his house, so it's probably still alive

  • lol O_O where did you get that turtle? mine died..... =[ it was too young.... i found a HUGE one at me public library =]

  • Well I bought it a city called pico rivera but the shop is now closed so I cant even get a new one. How did your die?

  • I dont know anymore because the place I got it from closed down :(

  • aww its cute

  • ant eater terrapin cool

  • Is he a hybrid soft-shell? I have never seen one like that before. I have an eastern spiny soft-shell. This one is spectacular!!!

  • it is a FLORIDA softshell turtle.

  • yeah it is, I mean from what I was told when I bought it. Why, how do you now about this turtle? do you have one?

  • i used to have 6 turtles in my tank, 1 softshell 1 miss map tutle, 1 yellow belly and 3 red ear slider..but i gave them all away to my friends, because they eat too much and there were getting too big, i don't have time to take care of them..

  • I like that turtle he is hot i cant even front

  • wow thats a nice turtle where u got it from?

  • Thanks for the nice words, I love my turtle. I got it from a small pet store a couple city's away from me here in L.A.

  • I have 2 red eared turtles one boy and one girl i had them for 2 years people who kill or torture turtles are just stupid idots.... cant even think about it

  • she/he's a beuty!

  • Thank you so much:) I still dont know what it is yet because it is to young. If the tail ends up long then it a boy
