  • In a perfect world, Graham Parker would be as successful as Elvis Costello or Joe Jackson today. Severely underrated artist.

  • I still have my vinyl copy of this and still pull it out from time to time. What a great song!

  • STUPID,STUPID,STUPID! Sounds like all my bosses, each and every one!

  • Nobody remembers the greatness of Graham Parker and the Rumour, especially with Brinsley Swartz on lead.

  • Can't get enough GP. Somebody load a video of 'Just Something You're Going Through'!

  • great song, but a bad recording, and its the only one.

  • WOW. The last time I heard this song was in 1982.

  • i watched this live when i was a 12 year old, an already avid GP fan. However, where is the "Promo" vid for this tune and why won't someone put it up? I totally remember seeing "Stupefaction" on some pre-MTV video show, where Graham is singing the tune in the back seat of a convertabile driving down the Sunset Strip. Please, someone, blow some sunshine up my skirt and POST THAT VIDEO! Love ya. Good Times. Kenny Thomas

  • he's better to Bob Dylan to me, sorry but my say!

  • play back

  • My other favorite Graham Parker song! (The other being Endless Night...thanks!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • Great tune. Sounds like something Nick Lowe would have written back in the day.

  • OOOps... of course it's not! Just that his band sound so good that it could have been the record. The download is out-of-synch... that's all.

  • Or is this playback?

  • YES! I saw this live, Summer 1980, went out to the mall and bought the single a few days later w/ my meagre early teenage budget, haven't seen this in...augh: 29 years!

  • This band shore gots a lotta geetarz!

  • let's get retarded; oh, you are

  • great video and song, but the track seems to off, voice and video wise

  • Not as great as I remembered it, probably something to do with the overly-loud less-than-essential cheesy guitar riff. Lyrically, though, great, thought-provoking stuff & a great song.

  • takes me back ! Joe Jackson, Graham Parker, Elvis Costello rule

  • nervy, slightly strained, snarly, and very fresh....sorry I undid your thumbs up accidently...

  • I think tamori!

  • i love both those guys

  • So boys and girls, who has the cooler shades- Graham Parker or Ian Hunter? Vote now !

  • Every day : stupefaction !

    Great song,love it.

  • My favorite artist for nearly 30 years! Still going strong.

  • i was SO HIGH at the show he opened for cheap trick in 1978- i was ironically amused by this song!

  • That my friend , must have been a Great show .

  • it was all the better because i accidentally set fire to a buddy's jean jacket with a dropped match-

oh the comedy of trying to put the flames out with a pint of vodka! (that did not go so well needless to say)

and his having to explain the new hole in his jacket to his mother!

  • Like Mastercard says on its commercial...

Priceless moments ! lol , cannot even begin to imagine it!

  • Funny I can't remember what I did today, but I can remember every word of this song!!

  • @zulme damn straight.

  • @zulme best comment ever! (=

  • ...Ah, the National Anthem...:)..

  • @jaye230 ah there was mor then one in my op

  • The man was a God. Lyrically, he was ten miles over the head of his peers. This song sure as hell is as relevant today as it ever was...

  • Still is.

  • Couldnt agree more instead of billboards its soaps and reality tv shows.the more things change the more they stay the same as the french say.

  • It's about Friggin' Time. I watched this live when i was a kid back in '80. This is the guy that made me want to rock and i still do.I love GP and the Rumour and always will. My biggest influence. Love, Kenny Thomas And The Southern Baptists

  • Best description of a common US lifestyle, and just as relevant now as it was then. Parker is genuis, and the Rumour was a terrific band.

  • What is "a common US lifestyle"? Pray tell?

  • Expressed myself poorly. Meant commonly found lifestyle where everything is so convenient, easy, programed, and spoon-fed that people stop thinking.

  • All of this easiness and convenience allows us more time to think. Why do think think we all take Zoloft?

  • You're right. I hadn't thought about that. Got anymore of them pills?

  • love this guy.
