jerbar120; not on grass but you can put rally wheels on them and race on dirt tracks. whitout them you run the risk of damaging your engine since there is no traction.
if you want an offroad car... get a savage, or tmaxx, or rustler.. cause if you just want to drive on grass and stuff, don't get one of these, they are made for road...
ppl with Rs4's prolly need to buy new tires every few months... am i right? i mean hell if i had one i'd be drifting too. Just seems like drifting eats up tires FASSST.
i was just wondering, what were the main mods you did to the evo 3? because i currently own one and i've had it for few years and want to spend some money on it, so got like any tips on what to i should buy?
Hey guys....great tens ...looks like the stang was running a little lean at the end.....I have a TC3 made for drifting..can do 76mph on a good day...also own a MGT...lots of fun..:-)
Sure - but how long can you hold a drift for? Watch real drifting - it's not about how sideways you can get, but how long you can keep the car going sideways for. Generally - 45 degrees is an appropriate angle to hold a drift line
hi my dad got me an rs4 2 nitro will it ba any good at drifting and could you help me cos when i start it up the back wheels and front start spinning by thems selves ??
HPI make a Stage D (drift kit) for the RS4 - both cars in this vid have them. Sounds like your car is idling too high. For advice - go to your local hobby store, or search some online RC forums. Youtube is for videos...
I'm thinking of getting a nitro RC, but where do you buy them? I'm also trying to build a drift type, eletric or gas, which is better? Whats the pros and cons about them because I really dont know.
good place for any type or rc is modelsport dot com and i wud suggest electric for drifting, as nitro's go so fast the spin out all the time electrics still go fast but not as fast. electric cars are more reliable aswell.
Shinexrythme you can get themf rom your local hobby sho or ebay i prefer ebay becuase hobby shop is high when you buy it new it's basicly stock give me a message i'll talk more about them to you.... I am good with them :D
You should try gunning it full around the turns instead of pulsing...if its tuned nicely it should peel out on the turn and make the drift more tight in the corner.
See below for tyres. Shocks - put in a higher grade silicon to keep it pretty stiff. Everything else - is stage D (if it is possible to buy) and where it isn't - it is modified. nitrodrifters . com under media has more images / vids.
hay revo kid i just bought the evo 3 + and its really great car to blast around the place with. i bought drift tryes instead of the stage d kit and it still drifts but hard to contol because the back tends to swing out alot
yes rajdiPL there electric...thats why they are blowing smoke and making such a loud sound...no there nitro powered...and BTW you dont need the Stage D to drift those cars
drifting in real cars is retarted, now its come to Rc cars too? thoes motors cant possible last very long running like that. probaly stalled cause they got too hot.
Probably did mate - but it is still going hard after 8 months, isn't it? Have you even tried drifting in a real car or R/C? Until you do - suggest you stick to your tmaxx trucks.
if i felt like ruining my engine and tires i could do it EASILY. its more throttle control that anything. and i seriously doubt any nitro engin can take 8 months of hot stalling. sorry "mate"
Doubt all you like. It is still going strong. As suggested - if you haven't experienced it, you don't really know, do you? While your opinions are welcome, at least make them informed as opposed to guessing. Also - RB engines are some of the toughest engines on the market - although, i doubt you have run them either.....
i have a revo and that hurt my feelings ='( but im thinking of gettin the evo + is it worth it if i just wanna drive and drift sometime(i dont wanna put money into the stage d...or atleast not yet)
i dont ge tit people are saying that what a but ur engine .. w/e i drift my NTC3 all the time it never gives me any probles and the only thing i changed on like so far is the gear (for more speed) and it still drifts nicely
Ive done nitro drifting before with my rs4 evo, Ppl used to say that electric was the best for low end, i know thats rubbish now ive had ago with electric and nitro, id prefer nitro. no way would you blow an engine, i modified the ports on my t-15 before and it blew my crank bearing after a good race. but thats to be expected,im now moddin a 18 engine to drift with, uve gotta lock them diffs though.
Yes - i agree. Nitro drifting is done at more than twice the speed of the standard elec drifting - and is more challenging to keep the car going where you want it to. Locked diffs are a must. We locked those diffs permanently - so it a whole new diff if they go, but if you lock one wheel - the others cannot spin at all - fused etc.
hey man ive got a hpi RS4 3 evo and im buying the stage d drift set up for it... thats all cool though i was just wondering if anyone knew how to lock those diffs together?? i understand its probably simple as ... just havent pulled them apart to see yet??
Very funny. That's like saying I was going to run, but it makes you sweat. To drift, you need a good understanding of engine tuning and car setup - or you will blow rings etc. You simply set your mix a little richer. If you stuff your engine - you shouldn't be driving it. A decent understanding of RC engines will get you by.
@MsFreighttrain piss off electric is shit
There not easier, they're cheaper and shitter but they're not easier
And it proves you have more skill if it's harder to drift a nitro car
yelood95 1 year ago
electric cars are much easyer and better than nitro

masterkdrifter 3 years ago
nah not really i have both... electric and nitro i prefer nitro because of the power. this just needed a slit prctise and less dripier tyres.

twojaythomo 3 years ago
HPI Stage D Drift (M compound) tires. 26mm front, 30mm back
hefferm 3 years ago
What do you need to do to make them drift like that. what you need to change besides the tires and what name brand i got jaco tires on my ntc3
NitroExplosion88 3 years ago
u only need slick tyres and alot of practise u dont need that drif box shit thats for ppl who cant handle there car.
mcgrath111 3 years ago

how long do drift tryes last and do u have to glue them on to the rims becuase the guys at rc hobbies said u dont
neonknight96 4 years ago
HPI Stage D compound rubber drift tyres used. HPI part #34502(back set) & #34501 (front set). Tyres last about 15 - 20 tanks.
hefferm 4 years ago
And YES - you do have to glue them on. If you don't - they come off. But hey - try it if you want, and see what happens.

nitro drifting because the wheels spin so easy it wears out your engine real quick. thats why if i drift i drift with elertic
