  • I can relate to this one cuz...I used to live in an apartment and the dad gum people above me were always being loud at all hours of the day...luckily I moved away from there...and found a quiet place :)

  • Darn fuzz sound. Love the Huge sound of U.A. boom boom boom

  • Never tired of listen this soul gem

  • One of those best of all times tunes to my mind. Immediately captures your attention and does not cease ~ really beautiful!

Much respect to Garnet. but also to the producer of this fine gem as well as many others, Jerry Ragavoy, who I'm saddened to learn has just passed away this past week. One of the many very great, behind the scenes marvels who helped propel so many great tunes and memories.

    R.I.P. Jerry Ragavoy!

  • one of my all time favourites

Garnet Mimms voice could melt the coldest heart - too darn soulful and sweet

    great post

  • Oh wow! I'm so glad I found this song. I had been trying to find information on "A Quiet Place" for years, I was calling it Johnny Dollar. Growing up in the sixties this song was a favorite of mine, But for whatever reason it didn't seem to last long on my "transistor" radio. LOL, One of these days when I have the time I'm going to make myself a library of all the golden oldies I loved as a kid. Now to find Sep and the limelight's "Daddy's Home"

  • @ASultryWmn Its one of my favorite "Beach" tunes and don't feel bad it is commonly known as "Johnny Dollar."

But the words Johnny Dolar are only mentioned once. I down loaded it from iTunes. You should be able to find Shep and the Limelighters they were on the PBS Special a few years back. Rhino Records is a good place to look for oldies and Doo-Wop.

  • @Antlers68 Thank you for the information. Growing up, there was a couple that lived across the street from me, and you guessed it right, the mans name was Johnny, and his woman would holler for for him just like the woman on the record. ROFL. That's another reason the song stuck in my brain all these years.

  • Classic!

  • My Dad loves this song!

  • love it my friend

  • OMG i love this music
