Well first of all, what do you think drugs do to you? Second of all, they write about what they feel. Back when Blood Sugar Sex Magik first released, they were crazy ambitious guys. Now they split up for one year so they could organize themselves. They are going to come back and write what they want to write. They will write what moves them. Finally, John isn't leading, the group as a whole are leading themselves in a direction they want to move in. That direction is far from a hole.

Hes right. I am a recovering opiate addict. Thankfully I was only addicted for three years and could never afford nearly as much as John would have been able to.

It definitely didn't turn my brain to Jell-O. Opiates really don't do that as much as people think. IF you could take away the withdrawal/addiction and the ability to overdose if you aren't careful, then they are much safer than many other drugs including alcohol.

What happened to John was he survived it and is now thankful to be alive.
