Avocado makes an awesome addition to a smoothie. It adds a little creaminess and is mellow in flavor, plus it adds some good low saturated fat. My personal favorite smoothie is a blueberry, banana, spinach, avocado concoction blended with orange juice and ice. Mmmmmm.
thankyou so much for your dedication to health and all your love you have put into these videos. i've been watching you for a while now and i'm getting alot of good info from you.. you are really good at teaching!!! keep it going!!!!xoxox
WOOOHOOO!!! LOVE GREEN SMOOTHIES! It's funny I just stumbled across this video- I've really been into making mango spinach smoothies for the last month. When I first got into raw, I was into the crazy combinations of fruit, veggies and superfoods, but find these days that my body is craving very simple combinations, if any! Great video! :)
Good vid! I've been moving more towards simplicity with my green smoothies. I want to get to three to four ingredients, I've been finishing off some odds & ends that I bought previously. My raw milk supplier was closed down by the government after some evil neighbor reported them into the Food Nazis. FYI, raw milk is legal here. I found a new supplier that I'll visit next week that sells Raw Milk as "Pet Food". LOL, gotta love the FDA (Feeding Death to Americans).
Dude, I saw you in Cold Spring Harbor. I was leaving as you were parking, lol. Great video! Do I see a Food Network contract in the future? :P You know they still dont have a raw food show, sigh. Im suddenly in the mood for a green smoothie. Going to go create one, peace!
great advice, tho as easy as the pre pack washed salads are they have been shown to be very low in nutrients due to the gasses pushed in to keep them looking fresh and the stuff used to wash them (altho for organic stuff this is often spring water in the uk). Id recommend the book Not on the Label: What Really Goes into the Food on Your Plate
by Felicity Lawrence. Most of the chapters are about meat products but still a very interesting book for conscious eaters, its based on the uk food chain
Thanks for the book recommendations. Agreed on the bagged idea. Its mostly a smoothie for people that dont want alot of fuss, and buying whole spinach at the market and then taking off the roots and the dirt is a MAJOR pain sometimes. More than most people are willing to put up with, for sure.
I would doubt that they are gassing the Organics, highly doubt it.
Your welcome. In the UK all pre bagged salad (organic or not) that is in an airtight bubble is 'packaged in a protective atmosphere. I think it allows the stuff to go off without looking like its gone off, that would explain why it very quickly looks dead after being opened and has so few nutrients. Afraid I have the stuff a lot when Im working away from home as its that or no 'fresh' greens :(
We lucked out on this apt...every other place had gross kitchens. The kitchen really does set the tone for the place, especially for bums that cook all the time!!
usually raw, sometimes I have to make concessions, but its not ULTRA pasteurized, so maybe they just do the legal minimum. Total b-s because people can buy all types of junk that poisons them, but raw dairy is illegal. I wonder why...
not to worry rawmodel! You live in NY right? I do too and have found an organization where you can get fresh farm foods and RAW milk!...do you want me to message you the info?
I made this. Sooo good!

Hi Anthony! I really enjoy your videos.
I have one question... do you know if the frozen mangos from TJ's 'blanched' before packaging?
koko9281 2 years ago
Good question...I never considered it. I just looked on the package and there was no note of it.
I doubt it though...let them defrost and they look like perfectly ripe mango chunks. Im ASSuming that they are probably ok.
