There's a difference between hurting someone and injuring them. That play could have injured him. That's not to say he's a dirty player, but obviously he wasn't concerned with making sure not to break his spine on this play.

But this looks like a simple intent to injure someone. this is about equal to taking a shot at someone's knee, in my opinion. I think the fines and shit going on are mostly ridiculous. I'd never want to neuter the hard hitting game that it is, but you should be looking to hit someone hard and make them sore in the morning, not take them out of the game. It's a question of sportsmanship.

That could go either way. I'm inclined to call it dirty as he was twisting the runner and still going for the ball when progress had clearly stopped. Yes, I will agree that players are instructed to play until the whistle is blown. But at 0:11 there are two defenders on him and he is clearly stopped. Even IF Reed had gotten the ball it shouldn't have been a turnover. Plus I'll admit to being a Steelers fan, so, there's that.

No the real dirty play was Bart Scott twisting CJ's ankle in a pile with 2:00 mins. left in the 2nd quarter. Up until that point, he was moving at a different level vs. the Ravens defense. I know the Steelers had a sigh of relief that day.

That was dirty. He was tackled already, and Ed Reed was basically trying to seperate his top torso from his legs that were being held by another teammate of Ed Reed. I dont think it was intentional, Ed Reed may not have known his legs were down, but it definitely was dirty....

Exactly what grunge said. In a game if the whitsle isn't blown you have to try to get the other player down. He wasn't trying to push his back backwards and break it, he was trying to strip the ball while he was on the ground. Watch the Steelers v Ravens playoff game from 2010-2011 and you'll see why players shouldn't stop playing unless the whitsle is blown.

He claims someone grab his foot with both hands and twisted it extremely hard C.J. also has said it took him 4 months to feel right on that ankle and feared he may never be the same. Ed Reed is a great player. . . but this IS a dirty play in my opinion. I mean, it's obvious the guy is down or pretty damn near down, is it necessary to grab a helpless man but the shoulder pads and bend him upwards like that? Christ. And it's not even like it was close to a first down where it's gonna be a close spot. I don't like this play. You can deny that Ed Reed is a great safety though. Then again, the Titans, IMO are 1 of the dirtiest teams in the NFL so this might have been payback
