I watched all 3 series and the Rika chair throwing scene happens in Rei, the 3rd season. Higurashi no naku koro ni Rei doesn't have much of a plot.

@Moonheart788, Rika is in a world where the dam project was resolved, Rika and Satoko's parents are still alive, Rika never joins the club, and therefore has no friends, Rena's parents aren't divorced, and Keiichi never transferred. Hanyuu has almost no connection to her, so Rika decides to do some research with documents she found in the house for clues as to why Hanyuu can't get into that world. Satoko was being a brat and messing with her book that she needed and Rika mowed her down!

It's important to note that Rika is pretty well the most non-violent in the series. These are the special circumstances that make her snap and beat the everliving shit out of Satoko. Which was well-deserved.
