The only reason you don't see great position players also pitching nowadays is because the tendency of coaches nowadays to develop atheletes as one or the other, not both. Think about it, in little league the best hitters were often the best pitchers and threw the hardest. In high school, you still see some players do both, but in college and on, they develop you as one or the other, not both. Plenty of great position players probably could have been great pitchers, but never had the chance.

First, i like to say only on espn will somebody truly say the truth in sports without worrying about getting fired. the guy on the right covered my argument. And think they focus on his pitching more than they should he had a .342 career batting average. Now thats hard. The fact that he had a good pitching record with a team that one 4 world series in like 6 years is not any great accomplishment to me. People pictched to baberuth.
