  • thats quiter then fans from the 1890s! but dc are beter then ac fans

  • @jackhewitt210 Not really, they can be more eficient but wears out quicker than ac motors, altho you can run ac motors off dc (universal dc/ac motors) you will probebly burn up the coils or brushes. Burned up a 120v ac drill when running it off 36v dc at it's rated speed with D cell batteries after about 3 uses :( Even said on the side below the model number "universal ac/dc motor".

  • thats quiter then fans from the 1890s!

  • how much would it usually cost for one like this

  • This is just BEAUTIFUL! I WOULD KILL TO HAVE ONE!!!

  • @roybo1930 Must have been the electric marvel of its age! I love the beautiful and shiny restoration it has, like new!

  • Great demonstration!

    Great demo and information.

  • @mtphono A-MEN!

  • Great fan, wonderful condition, - but potentially lethal both mechanically and electrically. Gosh, they took chances in them days, although US 110 volts possibly a bit less dangerous than the UK's 250 volts AC.

  • Thanks for posting this - but this thing looks pretty much dangerous, as you say.

  • damn how did they sleep on a hot weather.. and cold weather?

  • its a nice looking fan but it is a real electricians nightmare through
